Someone else might have already mentioned this but Jason Peters tore his ACL at 35 and is still playing. I'm confident Von will be back next year, it just sucks that this was our best Super Bowl window year.

There's no lesson. We needed a top tier edge rusher and we paid for one. If you want to be angry about the Von Miller injury that's fair but don't find a way to retroactively blame Brandon Beane for signing him. ACL injuries on turf unfortunately can happen to anyone. And I doubt we'll dump money into OBJ. He isn't going to get the contract he wants. If we sign him it will be a prove it deal that is easy to walk away from if he doesn't get healthy. For me the risk is more than worth it.
-
Hopefully he has realized that getting a deal that includes next year is impossible at this point. If he's smart he'll prove his worth here with a playoff push where he could be a featured receiver in a top passing offense.

If Dallas is out of the running, it's ours to lose IF we feel better about his knee than they do.

Two years in a row our most important defensive player was lost for the season on turf on Thanksgiving. Come on man.
-
The coaches were unfortunately primarily responsible for the Vikings loss. Refusing to take 3 easy points and refusing to run the ball when up by multiple possessions. A young replacement level player in Cam Lewis making a stupid play in a big moment, when the coaches should have drilled it into their heads that in that moment you knock the ball down. That game was the result of coaching failures more than execution IMO. But that's the only game this year where I think the coaches failed the players more than the reverse. Considering the ridiculous amount of attrition and brutal schedule we've faced, this year has been McDermott's best so far.

Right, they signed Stevenson to the active roster briefly just to release him, then used that spot to sign Brewer.
-
-
Stevenson was not on the 53 man roster, he was on IR. Releasing him didn't open a spot.
-
That open roster spot was filled by CJ Brewer.
-
So for everyone guessing an imminent OBJ signing, this squashes that.
-
Yeah I just saw that, that's certainly interesting.
-
Stevenson didn't count towards the active roster, he was on IR.

Especially with him still apparently on his visit there. I don't really understand what they're trying to accomplish here. Maybe he'll get turned off by their treatment of him, do the smart thing and sign here for just this season to prove his worth for next year.

Wouldn't surprise me if Vrabel made an ultimatum to the owner. He did not want AJ Brown traded so after watching him dominate his own team I'm sure he was livid.
-
This doesn't exactly make it sound like the Cowboys are front runners.

I don't blame OBJ for accepting the red carpet treatment in Dallas. I think they're the ones that look foolish for pulling out all the stops for just a solid #2 WR. That's the only reason I want him, not because he's still a superstar but because he's better than Gabe Davis. That's good enough for me. Dallas is making this whole thing weird. I also don't put much stock in the report that he isn't working out on his visits. Working out comes at contract signing time. He's not trying out for a team yet, he's picking where he wants to be for the next season and a half.

It's funny you say this because Chiefs fans complain incessantly about their OL, especially the tackles. They look at Andrew Wylie the same way we look at Spencer Brown and they think Orlando Brown has been a major disappointment considering they traded a 1st for him. Their interior I would agree is the best in football.

The Chiefs don't have much top end talent. It's Mahomes and Kelce and Chris Jones. No other real game changers. We have Allen and Diggs and Von Miller (hopefully we get him back), and a bunch of other guys that aren't elite but still up there in Milano, Poyer, Edmunds, Rousseau, Oliver. Their OL is overall better than ours but it's not elite by any means. Eventually the lack of top end talent catches up to you. It's why even a lot of their wins this year they've had to slug out right at the end and that kind of winning formula isn't sustainable.

Bills open as 9.5 favorites against Jets(10.5 some places)

Wow he had 400 yards against the Bengals last year?? Let me take a big sip of coffee and see what he did the week after that. -

Also Allen played his worst game of the season last time. It took all of that for the Jets to win by 3 at home. We're clearly the much better team, it just comes down to Allen continuing the level of play we've seen from him since the end of the 1st half against the Browns. -
The Chiefs can no longer dump off 5 yard passes for 60 yard TDs. They're still our main competition in the conference so that's a win.
