NFL Week #14 - Jets at Bills - 1st half game thread

Ugh we've had awful fumble recovery luck this year. That would have been nice. -

And we're right back where the previous drive ended. Obvious punt decision leads to a good result. Let's see what the 4th down decision bot says: Lol I never want to see anybody refer to this thing again. So bad. -

That was not close to PI. It was a textbook pass breakup. The last drive 2nd down incompletion to Diggs I thought was PI though. -

Why would you trust this offense to pick up 3 yards in these conditions and why do you feel that we need to? -

No brainer decision. Look at the kind of game this is. -

Why have we abandoned the run game? Maybe Dorsey needs to stand on the sidelines and feel the conditions he's calling these plays in. -

It happened a fair amount last year too. The EP offense requires the QB and WR to be on the same page about the coverage they're seeing in real time. If they don't see it the same way the pass ends up in a different area code which become a dangerous turnover possibility. I wish we ran an offense where everyone knows their job before the snap. -

Multiple times every week Allen and his intended receiver have different routes in mind. It happened on the missed throw to Davis. It's my least favorite part of this offense. -

It was an easy pitch and catch. I have no clue what happened, maybe the wet ball slipped out of his hand? -
There's no downplaying the loss, but the good news is Rousseau is playing tremendous this year. That softens the blow. You could argue that the defensive personnel this year is still better than what we fielded in the divisional round last year, even accounting for Hyde's and Miller's injuries. Rousseau and Edmunds have both taken a big step forward in their development. We added DaQuan Jones, a healthy Tre White, and better DE depth in Shaq Lawson. Ed Oliver has recently been playing the best ball of his career. Again you can't downplay the loss of Von Miller but it's not an excuse if the season falls apart. The rest of the team is still plenty good enough to win it all.

NY Jets at Buffalo Bills, Sunday Dec 11 at 1 pm

You're correct, I don't know what I was thinking. He's presumably talking about Zonovan Knight who Jets fans have identified as a possible star in the making. -

I'm pretty sure he's saying the Jets are better at those positions since the last time they played us. Mike White, Corey Davis, and Michael Carter did not play. Not sure that George Fant is really an upgrade at RT though. -
I guess I'm now in the minority on this but I would still welcome OBJ here even if he doesn't contribute meaningfully until the playoffs. I'm just not all that comfortable with Gabe Davis as the automatic #2 WR. With Miller and Hyde both going down for the season and the other injuries that impact our defense seemingly every week, our offense is going to need to pick up the slack a bit. I'm not expecting OBJ to be a superstar here, but I think he can be a difference maker in games that matter. Sign me up for that.

I'd be pretty surprised if OBJ chooses to play on MetLife turf 8 games a year.

This is just as bad as people saying they know he is guilty. Why can't we just accept that no one will ever know for sure and Araiza gets to live his life as a free man? That's how the justice system works.
-
-
No, it just means they don't have enough evidence to convict him. The hardest thing to do is say "I don't know" but that's all we can do in this case. I won't be surprised if Araiza lands with a team next year, but I highly doubt he'll ever be a Bill again.

Someone else might have already mentioned this but Jason Peters tore his ACL at 35 and is still playing. I'm confident Von will be back next year, it just sucks that this was our best Super Bowl window year.

There's no lesson. We needed a top tier edge rusher and we paid for one. If you want to be angry about the Von Miller injury that's fair but don't find a way to retroactively blame Brandon Beane for signing him. ACL injuries on turf unfortunately can happen to anyone. And I doubt we'll dump money into OBJ. He isn't going to get the contract he wants. If we sign him it will be a prove it deal that is easy to walk away from if he doesn't get healthy. For me the risk is more than worth it.
-
Hopefully he has realized that getting a deal that includes next year is impossible at this point. If he's smart he'll prove his worth here with a playoff push where he could be a featured receiver in a top passing offense.
