  1. I think the throw in the 1st quarter that was a little behind him was intentionally thrown that way to prevent a big collision over the middle. That one Davis cleanly got his hands on and looked frustrated with himself that he couldn't come down with it. The one slant pass was clearly uncatchable so I don't fault him for that. But that means you're looking at a drop on a pretty standard catch, another drop on an easy catch in the end zone, and a failure to get even one foot in let alone two on a sideline catch. Not to mention Davis overall just didn't get much separation yesterday. That is a piss poor performance for a playoff offense's #2 WR. Moving forward from here I would prepare to basically use Knox and the RBs as our #2 options. I don't trust Davis anymore.
  2. Not good enough:
  3. I already know what will happen. The Chargers will screw around and win the division in 2023 and 2024 and Mahomes will somehow manage to avoid ever playing a game in Buffalo.
  4. We are literally the best red zone defense in the NFL, giving up a TD just 44.44% of the time. So how can you honestly say this? McDermott and Frazier run a defense that requires the opposing offense to be perfect. The thing that so many people on here want them to do, blitz more, burned them big time on the first drive against the Bengals and many other times throughout the year. Conservative defense isn't flashy but in the modern era it's the only thing that works. If you like blitz heavy defenses go ask Dolphins fans how they feel about their DC. Offenses have too many answers for that stuff these days.
  5. The 49ers didn't shut them down. The Dolphins had wide open receivers all over the field that Tua flat out missed.
  6. I think a lot of what his board identifies as "wide open underneath throws" would actually be 5-6 yard completions in most cases. There's always a LB sitting around the LOS in Cook's field of vision that is going to immediately rally to him as soon as the ball leaves Josh's hands. If Allen decides the checkdown is his only available option that's fine but we can't our run whole offense that way. I'm all for more designed passes to Cook though.
  7. Yeah 2 such plays ended in deep TDs today. Checkdowns are always available. It's easy hindsight analysis when a downfield pass isn't completed but if Allen immediately checked it down every time the defense dropped into deep zones our offense would stink. Personally I'd like to see a few designed passes to Cook in space, for some reason we haven't delved into that bag of tricks at all yet. Hopefully Dorsey is waiting to unleash that in the playoffs.
  8. He isn't the same guy he was the past 2 years. He is much worse. It's a really frustrating development. They were counting on him to step up and instead he inexplicably regressed. His rookie season he was making ridiculous toe drag catches in a critical drive of a playoff game. Today he didn't even try dragging his 2nd foot on a routine play along the sideline. I don't get it.
  9. It's a huge concern heading into the playoffs. He's dropping passes, not dragging his 2nd foot by the sideline, having trouble separating in single coverage. I mean he isn't doing anything well right now and he's supposed to be our #2 target. Forget the tough catches, right now he's missing the easy ones. What the hell happened to him?
  10. No, in fact there would be people in here criticizing Allen for being off the throw because we have become so used to passes hitting receivers right in the hands and chest or hitting the ground. There is zero margin for error in this passing offense when Diggs isn't the target. It puts too much on Allen's plate.
  11. He hasn't seem focused this year. Earlier on the sideline catch he didn't even try to drag his 2nd foot. Either he needs to get his head in the game or they need to bump him down the depth chart.
  12. He doesn't make great plays. The last contested catch he made was week 5. He's been downright bad this year. It makes no sense.
  13. He hasn't made a great play since the Pittsburgh game. Either he makes the routine catch or he drops it. It's crazy how much he fell off after last year.
  14. Is it too late to get OBJ? Davis has badly regressed. He's mucy worse than he was even as a rookie.
  15. Lol he stayed in the endzone for a full 5 seconds before he decided to run it out
  16. This team collectively has been responsible for some of the most flukey dumb plays I've ever seen multiple times this season.
  17. Just get used to it. Our QB is Brett Favre. He'll make your eyes pop out of your head for entirely different reasons for the rest of his career.
  18. All the investments and the defense is worse than last year. Losing Miller and Hyde was too much. We needed Oliver or someone to step up and it just hasn't happened.
  19. Can this guy make one tough catch?
