Three 6th round picks for Hopkins! Who says no?
-
At this point I would love Andrew Voorhees. It's unlikely that anyone we take at this point will make the team so take the one player you get a freebie on for 2023.

Lol Beane is so over this draft

Analyzing 10 years of first round TE production
HappyDays replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Exactly. I don't know why some people are still acting as if Kincaid and Knox are sharing one role. Beane said it himself, it isn't a secret - there will be times when Kincaid and Knox are on the field at the same time but we are still effectively in 11 personnel. But DCs won't be able to tell the difference until after the snap. -

Every 1st round pick should come with the disclaimer that they aren't going to produce as much as fans want them to. I'm as guilty of this as anyone, so it's fair to say that Kincaid will not be an immediate superstar in year one. Utah isn't exactly a powerhouse so he will have to acclimate to the pros more than some. You don't draft 1st rounders for their year one production though. Still I think he will be a very important role player in the offense this year, which is about as good as you could have hoped for with anybody we drafted at that spot. If I'm right about him we will see flashes of that Travis Kelce ceiling and hopefully have a true superstar in year two or three. -

Thanks. Keep posting clueless nonsense like this. It helps everyone know the kind of poster they're dealing with. Me, I have no interest in debating anything with you. -
RD 5, Pick 150: WR Justin Shorter, Florida

The catching technique doesn't look ideal in that video, but he apparently only has 1 drop on 114 targets over the past two seasons. If it works it works. -

You should know that saying things like this, where it is clear to anyone paying attention that you don't have a clue what you're talking about, is a really bad look. I'm sure you don't care. Just wanted you to know. -

Yes, Beane openly said this would be his role in the offense. In 15 games played in 2020 Beasley had 107 targets, 82 catches, 967 yards. I'm obviously not expecting equivalent production from a rookie on an offense with more slot options than we had in 2020. But I find that comparison more instructive than looking at players that had completely different skill sets and different roles in different offenses. -
This has been somewhat of a trend of this regime, taking players who really showed out in their final game in college. I believe Bernard had a great performance in his final bowl game too. I wonder if they put a special value on the final game of a player's college career, like they think it shows best how that player will look entering the NFL.

There were a lot of former 5 star recruits in this class that never lived up to their potential in college. Bills got one of them. -

Big physical outside WR that has trouble separating. I see similarly profiled players get drafted sooner than this so I'm fine with the value. Edit: Ignore that first clip of Kincaid, I can't find a way to remove it for some reason.- 544 replies

Some insight on Bills first round and how it went down
HappyDays replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Evaluators that only watch film are missing like a third of what NFL GMs look at. JSN's modest size and speed may relegate him to a slot only role in the NFL and he has a huge medical red flag. I would actually be surprised if Beane had a 1st on him. -
I wonder if it was a case of a player with a much higher grade sticking out on the board. Ideally you always want to take perfect scheme fits, but if a lesser scheme fit is a high 2nd round grade and everyone else on the board is borderline 2nd/3rd you should just take the higher grade and find a way to make it work. I appreciate that in rounds 1 and 2 Beane did appear to truly stick to a BPA strategy. I'm not entirely convinced that Dorian Williams was BPA at that spot, I think the run on LBs immediately before our pick may have made Beane panic that we were going to miss the boat entirely on our biggest position of need. Your analysis of him makes me feel a lot better about the player, I just don't understand why Beane took a Milano backup/special teamer in the 3rd round by his own admission. I'm trying to figure out what the plan is. My bold guess is that they have already soured on Bernard and are prepared to move on from him after his rookie season.

Why would Beane draft AT Perry when he knows DeAndre Hopkins will be a Bill in a few days 😁

Is Antonio Johnson really still on the board? This feels like a great spot to get a possible future starting safety.

Some insight on Bills first round and how it went down
HappyDays replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
I also heard a couple weeks ago that Addison was their primary target in the 1st round. Another credible poster on here said the same thing. So yeah that is definitely true. On Kincaid, I don't think the Bills ever really thought he would be there. They didn't have him in for a top 30 visit which is I believe the first time in the McDermott/Beane era for our 1st round pick. Good on Beane for sticking to his board and making sure to come away with a true 1st round talent even if he wasn't someone we specifically targeted. -
Another small front 7 player... Why is that Beane's obsession?
-
This pick seriously makes me wonder if Bernard's roster spot is in danger. Like they're just giving up on him now. He was inactive the last game of the season after all...
-
Nevermind, Beane said we drafted him to be an OLB and special teamer. I hate it.
-
This was not a BPA pick, this was a need pick. But honestly I think I'm okay with it. It's a weak draft and we have to ensure Terrel Bernard isn't our starting MLB.

The worst part is he thought everyone was booing him in good fun, like a wrestling heel... Nope, they just legitimately want you to shut up dude.
