How Dalton Kincaid did at Bills rookie mini camp

Isaiah Simmons might be an answer for the Bills at MLB
HappyDays replied to gjv's topic in The Stadium Wall
If this is true, I question why Josh Allen isn't looking at him more? I've seen people try to blame Allen himself for this, but Allen was constantly looking Beasley's way from 2019-2021. So I know that he will specifically look for a safety valve if he trusts the player. For one reason or another he isn't looking to Knox as a safety valve. I feel that there must be a reason for this beyond "Allen just doesnt feel like it." I don't put much stock in Next Gen Stats' separation rate. QBs aren't looking for yards of separation, they're looking for leverage. There are plenty of scenarios where a WR with 1 yard of separation is still in a better spot to catch the ball than a WR with 5 yards of separation. It's practically a meaningless stat without context. It's possible that Knox is not properly leveraging himself in a way that creates a good catch and run window in between zone defenders the way that Beasley used to. I don't think Allen really trusts Knox to see things the same way that he does and Allen is very much a "trust" style of QB. This is my counter to people that say "why did we draft Kincaid if we don't even throw to Knox?" I think Kincaid's instincts to leverage himself properly in coverage gaps will mesh very well with what Allen likes and I believe he will immediately take over 2020 Beasley's function in this offense but with a much better catch radius and a much higher YAC ceiling on any given play. -

Knox doesn't have the route running, the short area quickness, or the coverage reading ability needed to play from the slot regularly. Think Beasley's skill set. That isn't Knox. Unlike Kincaid you wouldn't describe Knox's game as "fluid." Knox is more of a "straight line, run you over" kind of athlete which is a good skill set for a traditional TE. You can live with an above average drop rate from a traditional TE (as long as it's not the ridiculous 20% drop rate Knox had as a rookie); a slot receiver on the contrary needs to have very good hands to be effective. The areas that Knox is weak in Kincaid excels in, and vice versa. I think they're a perfect complementary match. -
The best possible counter to the way defenses played us last year is TE seam routes. The 2nd best counter is stop routes by a cerebral pass catcher that knows where to sit in coverage gaps, especially one with fluid catch and run ability. Hey what do you know, the Bills drafted a player in the 1st round that excels at both of these concepts. Kincaid and to some extent James Cook are the answer to the problem defenses posed us last year. It was bizarre watching us refuse to get Knox and our pass catching RBs involved last year when defenses were practically begging us to throw them the ball. As long as Dorsey understands this, and the Kincaid pick makes me optimistic that he does, I expect a more consistent / much less boom or bust offense this year.

I confess I hated the Josh Allen pick at the time so I was a little more apprehensive about him as a rookie. Kincaid I feel is a sure thing and can take this offense to another level. Every year I have one or two draft crushes that I don't really expect to be there when we pick. Kincaid is the first time I can remember that my draft crush fell to us and we took him.

Yeah that last clip from Sal shows off his skill set. Speed on the release, sharp cut in, catch the ball and continue running upfield in one fluid motion. I haven't been this excited about a Bills rookie in at least the last decade.

I have to post the Chargers schedule release video. They knock it out of the park every year.

Rumor Josh Allen break up/ reason for losing to cinci
HappyDays replied to Jamone's topic in The Stadium Wall
I certainly don't. He missed some throws that I know he can make. But the one TD drive we had it was all him just willing the team into the endzone. It was crazy how difficult every yard of that drive looked, compared to what Burrow was seeing on any given drop back. I put the offensive performance in that game more on Dorsey than anyone. No easy answers for the QB and no counter to a strong pass rush is a coaching problem. -

One source and I'm not going to say it's someone directly familiar with the situation, but someone that knows people who would be directly familiar. The more degrees of separation away from the original source the less I trust it, but the narrative lines up with what we know. Truth be told I hate this whole rumormongering crap that persists with celebrities. I know we like to think of Josh Allen as a god, but he isn't, he's just a 26 year old guy who happens to be super talented. He and Brittany deserve their privacy. High school sweethearts that break up in their 20s is not uncommon these days. No chance the breakup had anything to do with his performance in the Cincy game either, that's just people connecting dots for fun. -

My understanding of the situation according to a source is that Brittany made an ultimatum - "marry me now or never." Josh said no, gave her a bunch of money and sent her off to California. All the other rumors about him getting someone else pregnant, their house getting trashed, that's all crap. -
It takes MUCH more assuming to place the Jets above us. I don't have to assume anything to say the Bills are still the best team in the division - that's what we've been for 3 seasons now, and that's how it remains until a divisional rival actually dethrones us. Us being #1 is the assumed baseline until proven otherwise. To place the Jets above us, you have to assume a 40 year old QB coming off the worst season of his career, after an offseason where he openly admitted he already had one foot out the door, behind a suspect offensive line, is going to work out. You have to assume Nate Hackett is suddenly going to be able to call a competent offense with an over the hill QB. You have to assume Breece Hall will be the same player. Etc. Etc. I'm not confident the Bills are the best team in the conference, but until proven otherwise I am very comfortable saying they're the best team in the division.

Schedule Release - Rumors & Leaks
HappyDays replied to FitzShowUsYourTitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
LV isn't a SNF game, it's a normal 1PM. TB game is on a Thursday night, DEN is on a Monday night. One thing I like about this schedule, if true, is that our hardest games start in November. That gives Von two full months of recovery before we really need him. -

I think it's a good choice. A possible up and coming team in a game that projects to be very high scoring. -
General NFL fans know Nickell Robey-Coleman for being the offender in the worst PI non-call in NFL history. I wonder how many of them know he was part of an equally dumb call on the opposite end of the spectrum? Oh well, probably for the best. That loss cemented EJ as a backup or worse and helped bring the Rex Ryan era to an end.

Innocent until proven guilty goes both ways. It has not been proven that the woman lied about being raped. The DA is welcome to charge her if they feel they have enough evidence to convict her of a false accusation, which is a crime by the way. This is the weird legal gray area that no one wants to live in, but it's the best we have in this case - the woman is innocent, the men are innocent. I have my own suspicions about the true narrative that took place that night. But I haven't seen enough evidence to definitively ascribe wrongdoing to any involved party.
