A game that could have been played against the Jaguars, giving Hyde one more week to come back and maybe we face the Chiefs instead of the Bengals the following week. If you're going to try and make the argument that losing the #1 seed was unimportant, I think you know that that is an unwinnable argument. -

I could point to a minimum of 2 plays from Gabe Davis last year that directly led to us missing out on the #1 seed last year. -

The last post of this thread should be a simple "Yes" -

This is really happening all over again. It's fun being a good team. -

We know Hopkins wants to be here so that gives us a chance. Beane will have to work some magic but I really think we can make this happen. -

It's funny because Mahomes had the same problem in his 5th season that Allen just had in his 5th season. He ignored too many open short throws in favor of deep throws he had no business throwing. He got a little lazy reading the defense. To quote an earlier poster/troll, that "implosion factor" directly led to him single handedly choking away the AFCCG to Cincy last year. And then the Chiefs made a bunch of changes. They traded away their deep threat in Tyreek Hill. They redesigned the offense to incorporate more short passing and more running. Mahomes took the philosophy change to heart, throwing for the lowest intended air yards per attempt of his career. Just like that he's back to MVP level. I expect Allen and the Bills offense to undergo a similar change this year. Adding Kincaid and Torrence and Harris and Harty signals to me that they are investing heavily in players that punish defenses who drop into deep zones. I also believe Allen when he says he is more focused on football than he ever has been before. He has an unmatched ability to identify his own flaws and work to correct them. I think all of these ingredients are going to come together to create the most balanced and efficient offense of Allen's career. The big asterisk of this entire post is Ken Dorsey. He certainly has every tool an OC can reasonably ask for. Now he just needs to put the rubber to the road.

Ross Tucker ranks NFL Coach’s, places McDermott at #22.

This has nothing to do with my post. I don't think McDermott is especially conservative. He is however a defensive head coach in a league mostly led by offenses now. The last defensive minded head coach to even be in a Super Bowl was Belichick in 2019. It is hard to argue with that trend. -

I am starting to wonder if a defensive head coach just can't get it done in the modern NFL. Even if you have an amazing OC that OC is guaranteed to be a head coach before long. IMO this is a big year for McDermott. Ben Johnson will likely be a head coach in 2024. If we once again have a disappointing playoff exit I will badly want the next young offensive minded hotshot leading the way for the back half of Allen's career. Unfortunately I don't think Pegula agrees. I think McDermott is here for the next 5 years minimum as long as we are in the playoffs each year. -

That's too low IMO. Shanahan has a decent case that he is the best head coach in the NFL. For my money he is. Give him Josh Allen and he would have a minimum of two Super Bowls right now. -

I do worry that McDermott is like the proverbial RB that gets you 4 yards when you need 3, and 4 yards when you need 8. His baseline is clearly far better than anything we had in the drought years and he gets all the credit in the world for turning around a moribund franchise. Can he get us over the hump though? Every season that passes, the question grows more pressing. But as others have pointed out he is clearly still ranked too low on this list even from the most cynical perspective of his tenure here. -
She actually did not. If you read the allegation to the letter, she accuses his teammates of raping her, not Araiza himself. She says he "threw her onto the bed" but never directly accuses him of participating in the alleged gang rape. Her attorney just used Araiza's name to draw attention to the complaint. But he chose his words very carefully.
-
He admitted to having sex with her but in California it is defensible if you believed the girl was at the age of consent. She didn't lie about Araiza possibly gang raping her. In fact she didn't even accuse him of that. That is a narrative the media chose to run with because that's the clickbait world we exist in now.
-
Why are you so keen on rooting for Arazia to be a rapist? That's what I don't understand about people in your camp.

I know he's had weight issues before but is it possibly just the angle and the perspective? He posted this picture from OTAs to his Instagram:
