NY Giants @ Buffalo Bills - SNF 1st half game thread
HappyDays replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's an exact repeat of last year. Whole team looks like the best in football in September. Suddenly the offense looks lethargic and the defense loses several key players to injury. -

Another 3rd down blitz that got burned. When did that become our primary defense? -

I'll give Diggs a mulligan because he consistently makes elite plays. These other guys don't, and also they're not dependable. -

Lol our WRs are tripping all over themselves. And then Gabe loses focus on the ball. This group just isn't good enough. They need to make a trade. -

All of our run plays are slow developing. It takes 2+ seconds for the RB to hit the LOS. -

I hate how little creativity our offense has. It's an offensive scheme that's at least 5 years behind the best offenses in the NFL. -
10/15/23 Week #6 SNF GAMEDAY Bills vs Giants Pregame Thread

I like Dorian Williams getting the start. We know Dodson isn't good enough. Williams has a chance to be a difference maker by the time we hit January, get him those reps now. -
Personally I take it as a coaching issue. We have trouble winning ugly games. You are not getting the #1 seed without a couple of those on your record.
-
So far this week 3 AFC contenders have won games scoring less than 20 points. Last year and this year we are 0-5 scoring less than 20.
-
For sure but you need to pull out some ugly wins like that to get the #1 seed.
-
Other contenders are winning games where they score less than 20 points. Must be nice.
-
Geno Smith throwing an absolutely stupid INT in FG range earlier is looming large now.
-
Jim Schwartz continues to be an excellent coach.

We weirdly have no YAC specialists and no contested catch specialists. I can't think of another above average offense that has neither of those.
-
For me the standard of QBing is at a modern era low. Even the top 4 or so QBs are not playing their best this year, and behind them it's a hodgepodge of decent but not great QBs.

Unfortunately the Bengals offense appears to be back. Wish we had a chance to play them in September.

Kaiir Elam is a liability any time he is on the field

It's McDuffie's arm length - 29.75". I looked into this before that draft, not once has McDermott used a draft a pick or a free agency contract on a CB with shorter than 30" arms. It is seemingly a minimum requirement for him. I think he likes his corners, especially outside, to have the ability to cover both areas in under/over conflict situations. Can't do that without long arms. -
Would be it trolling if I start a "trade for DeAndre Hopkins" thread?

Haven't heard anything on Kincaid from my source, but based on other reports this week it appears he is trending in the right direction. He was spotted in a normal jersey at practice, not a non-contact. If he clears the protocol I think we're fine with him and Morris and Gilliam. In fact I'll almost welcome the opportunity to see Kincaid get the routes and targets Knox has gotten. I want the ball funneled to more dependable players.

Dane Jackson apparently has plantar fasciitis. This injury is about pain tolerance and load management. Extremely painful actually but players push through it all the time. It explains why he didn't practice much but is not declared out for the game. If it feels okay during warm-ups he will play. I would guess if it turns into a blowout he will get pulled, no need to put stress on that injury anymore than absolutely necessary. Knox took a helmet to the wrist against the Jags and reportedly tore a ligament in his hand/wrist. There is also apparently a fracture in that area. He has it braced up. He can play through the ligament damage with the brace, but usually a fracture in that area keeps players out 2-3 weeks out of caution (the bone in that area generally does not heal very well). My guess is that if he plays against the Giants it will be a lighter load than usual.

Allen looks to Diggs and has him open. He even c*cked his arm to throw it. But you can see Morse got pushed back so far that Allen couldn't step into that throw so he had to move. I don't think Kincaid's route had anything to do with it. Looks like the progression is almost certainly Kincaid -> Diggs -> Sherfield and then Cook as the check down.

Stef was immature on a few occasions in the offseason, I thought he deserved criticism then. But this story is flat out BS. Just normal sideline frustration from an extremely passionate football player. What, because Josh happened to be in the camera shot that means he's somehow connected? The media has gotten really weird.

He doesn't have a major fracture the way we normally think of a broken foot, but one of the small bones in his feet is broken. It's the kind of injury you can technically play on because it's not possible to make the injury worse, but he could cause the healing to be delayed if he puts too much stress on it. Mostly it is about pain tolerance and making sure it can still heal properly.
