  1. Most importantly, 3-3 as a backup in the past 2 years, and that's playing for a much worse team. .500 is all we need from a backup.
  2. Colt McCoy just became available. I would be all over this.
  3. This is one of the writers for Over The Cap. According to him it doesn't matter if Keenum is cut, the comp pick is locked in. Good news here.
  4. You'd be surprised what reporters find out that they never actually report, and equally surprised how careless many people are around microphones. I didn't hear the slip-up myself but it's not totally unbelievable that this happened. I believe Beane has a good relationship with Jim Miller actually, he goes on his radio show a fair amount. GMs will divulge a lot of things in casual conversations off the air, especially inconsequential things like this.
  5. I watched this play a couple times. Torrence loses leverage on an inside move and he gets pushed back almost into Allen's lap. He recovers decently well but the pocket is muddied. The same thing happened to Torrence later on the play that Allen escaped the pocket and threw back across his body, he got beat on an inside move. That time he wasn't able to recover. (a better angle is shown at 0:19) It's one lingering hole in Torrence's game that he needs to focus on. That vulnerability is on tape now. Every DT that faces him is going to try the same thing.
  6. He played in 3 snaps yesterday. Here's 2 of them: He just doesn't have any kind of instincts or anticipation. He was massively overpaid by the Bears.
  7. He was their 3rd round pick just two years ago. I remember he had his fans on here because of his elite speed. Turns out he couldn't do anything other than run fast.
  8. I come away from preseason still concerned about our WRs behind Diggs. Much has been made of Davis's catch percentage throughout his career. Here is the only preseason game where I believe our offense looked as close to the real thing as possible and he finishes with a 25% catch percentage. His only catch was one where Allen held the ball for over 5 seconds. A low catch percentage and only catching the ball on a long developing play... That is who Davis has always been, and that inefficiency is more pronounced when he's the full time #2 as he again projects to be this year. So once again the passing offense this year will mostly have to be about Allen and Diggs making magic happen. It's a little scary to have nobody behind Diggs that can consistently win within 10 yards of the LOS. Hopefully Kincaid is ready for a lot of target volume as a rookie. On another note, I think that in Harris and Torrence the Bills may have finally found a goal to go run offense. Red zone TD% is one of the only areas where our offense has substantial room for improvement so this could be a significant development if Harris stays healthy.
  9. This is classic Edmunds. Decides to give extra attention to the one WR that was already covered and lets Diggs run right by him uncontested.
  10. I still cannot believe they gave him that contract. The Bills may have a big problem at MLB this season but giving Edmunds that kind of money would have been an even bigger mistake.
  11. Like I said in the live thread I am still concerned about MLB and the WRs behind Diggs.
  12. Yeah chances are he'll never develop into the player they want. I'd still rather bet on that chance than trade him for a day 3 pick though. One thing that could sway me is if we did something like trade him for Patrick Queen.
  13. Recent reports on Von Miller have me encouraged. If he is back playing as well as he did for us last year, even if it takes until November for him to get back to form, our DL will be more than fine IMO. Agreed that until he is back it will probably be a bit underwhelming. But at least there we have an incoming solution. At MLB and WR we are stuck with what we have pending a major trade.
  14. I come away from preseason with the same two major concerns I had in June: 1) MLB 2) WR behind Diggs
  15. Kyle Allen has completed 4 of his last 16 passes. There were a couple drops mixed in but wow that is awful.
  16. Eh I don't think CB is going to be the reason we lose games this year. Elam is disappointing but everyone above him is at least capable at the position. Benford had a very nice game today. The ceiling of the position will depend on how much Tre has returned to his old self.
  17. Shakir from the bench had the best day of the #5/#6 guys.
  18. You're disputing that Davis has had trouble catching the ball, especially against tight coverage? It's not even a controversial take, it's just a fact.
  19. Our CB depth is unreal. Neal, Lewis, and Ingram have all shown something today.
  20. I was waiting for someone to post this play. But you know this is an exception, right? Which is why it immediately comes to mind.
  21. Van Denmark lost the last two reps, one run block one pass block. He isn't nearly as comfortable at RT.
  22. Meanwhile in KC: This is their 2nd round rookie WR. Chiefs fans were hoping he would step into JJSS's role from last year.
  23. It's the best position group on the team from top to bottom IMO.
  24. I'd like to see Anderson make the team, I just don't think the numbers work for him. We have so much depth at IOL it makes me even consider the idea of trading Bates, but that would be a big risk.
  25. Kyle Allen is the definition of a one-club QB. I haven't seen him throw with touch once.
