I hate that Dodson is starting this game. It justifies every criticism of McDermott being unwilling to develop rookies. We already know who Dodson is. Dorian Williams at least has a ceiling he can reach by the playoffs. Why not give him some chances to get there? Why play it safe with a maybe slightly better but still bad player?
True, the problem is Dorsey isn't going to disappear and these bizarre 3rd down play calls have been a thing all season long. So at some point they have to stop if we want to compete for a championship.
Stop trying to make Allen a traditional QB. Let him run right out of clean pockets as much as he wants to if there are routes to that side of the field. It's free money.
Yeah, and? We are moving the ball at will when Dorsey doesn't get in the way.
You guys have to learn that Allen playing like that is the best thing for him. Let him leave the pocket a little early sometimes. Who cares?
You say that but when he escapes right the offense becomes extremely dangerous, more than him just standing in the pocket. I get from a traditional QB standpoint that is the wrong play, but for Josh you have to let him play his game.
We needed a player like Shakir to step up like this!
Also switch over to Prime Vision if you haven't already. It identified Shakir as being wide open about 2 seconds before Allen saw him. It's an awesome viewing experience.
Only criticism I have is we should have run the ball more on one of the last two series. Didn't much like the play calling at the end. But at least we looked smooth.
