  1. I'm sick of incredible Josh Allen throws that hit the ground. Been so many of them since he was a rookie.
  2. It was arguably our best offensive play last week. But nobody blocked Young.
  3. Rousseau. The Washington tackles are vulnerable and Howell likes to hold the ball. Rousseau has been excellent so far this year and I think he comes down with his first sack in this one.
  4. Tua is doing exactly what he's been doing since day one. If his first read is there he'll identify it and deliver the ball accurately. In that sense the Shanahan offense is perfect for him because it's mostly a one read offense. That system combined with all of that speed really just needs a one read QB that can get the ball out on time. It's the same reason San Fran is making it work with Brock Purdy. If you want to stop the offense, take away the first read and take away the middle of the field. Much easier said than done of course.
  5. This is a great breakdown of Cook's game against LV: He points out that our draws to Cook have become our version of RB screens. They're blocked up the same way. And that concept really intrigues me. The problem with our screens in general is defenses always have eyes in the backfield with Allen as the QB so it's hard to disguise screens. But that problem is solved if Cook stays in the pocket and forces back 7 defenders to respect that it could be a normal drop back pass. And then his speed makes it all work. Also in this video are numerous examples of Cook fighting for extra yards through direct head-on contact or effortlessly gliding through contact. And his vision on some of these plays is outstanding. I'm growing more confident that we got the full package in our RB1.
  6. I honestly started this thread just so I could post this unbelievable injury report from the Ravens: For context imagine if James Cook was already out for the year, and we were playing this Sunday's game without Gabe Davis, Dion Dawkins, Mitch Morse, Damien Harris, Micah Hyde, Tre White, and Leonard Floyd. How does this happen to the Ravens every single year?
  7. Looks like everyone is good to go.
  8. Good sign for the players that have been on the injury report this week.
  9. Bills 29 Commanders 19
  10. Mahomes can't make that throw, but there are throws he can make that Allen can't. Their arm talent is different from one another. With Allen it's the release and the velocity. With Mahomes it's the precise ball placement from crazy arm angles. They're both doing things I have never seen before.
  11. Don't be stupid. Obviously this is because of the curse of Nate Peterman.
  12. This is an awful look for Fields. Unless this quote is taken out of context somehow, just a stunning lack of self-awareness and accountability.
  13. So I think there's two conversations here. Cook is not the type to take on a defensive player head on and power through the tackle. In that scenario he usually goes down on first contact. But because of his speed and smooth cutting he often times puts defenders in situations where they're just getting a hand or an arm on him and he's gliding right through those tackle attempts. The thing is defenses are giving us a ton of space to work with up front because they're so focused on stopping our pass game. So Cook's skill set in that chess match is a lot more valuable than a hard-nosed downhill thumper. We don't need someone that can power through a loaded box, we need someone that can take full advantage of that free space. FWIW I've been saying this for years. Cook is perfect for our offense.
  14. All this run offense needed was some speed to take full advantage of easy opportunities given to us by the defensive coverages we face.
  15. This is hilarious.
  16. 7 YPC on draws... That's incredible. Although the Raiders game was surely responsible for most of that success. We'll have to see if it continues.
  17. He got a 51.2 grade from PFF in that game. His coverage grade was 42.7.
  18. Mahomes and Kelce licking their chops knowing they get to carve up their favorite play thing one last time. I have no clue what the Bears thought they were paying for. MLB is a devalued position so if you're giving one $18 million AAV you better get a true difference maker. Edmunds even on his best days was just a guy that created opportunities for others to be difference makers. And on his worst days smart OCs and QBs would make a fool out of him. I think it is becoming clear that he was a worse player than even some of his detractors thought, and no longer having the support of a sound defensive system and strong surrounding talent is shining a spotlight on his flaws. This so-called "modern" MLB can't match up against modern offenses that thrive on misdirection. In a sport where turnover differential matters more to win percentage than pretty much any other statistic, here is a player that doesn't force or collect turnovers. So again, what did the Bears think they were paying for?
  19. I genuinely don't think Edmunds makes this play. I think he hesitates on the play action and Jacobs has a chance to bounce it outside.
  20. I mean, Edmunds had several opportunities to make that exact play over the course of his career here and missed them. Are you really choosing this hill to die on? Edmunds was not a playmaker, he was a scarecrow.
  21. This is one thing I'll disagree with you on. The defense absolutely could have been better. Not that anyone is primarily blaming them for the loss, but 16 points against a backup QB with a poor OL is not a "more than good enough" performance. The Chiefs defense this weekend held the vaunted Jags offense to just 3 FGs, 0 TDs, in a game where the Chiefs offense and special teams put the defense in some bad situations. I guess I just don't agree with this idea that if the defense lets up less than 20 points they are automatically excused from any and all blame. Wouldn't it be nice if when Allen had a bad day, some other part of the team found a way to overcome it? I can't remember the last time that happened.
  22. Bernard is proving that MLB is a devalued position. In pure talent the drop off from Edmunds to him is massive, and yet the defense as a whole is performing just as well if not better than last year.
  23. Watson is just plain terrible. Everyone saw this coming, except for Jimmy Haslam.
