I hope Pegula feels the same way. That would be one positive to take away from this loss.

No, I'm glad we lost the way we did. If you're going to lose, do it in a way that shines a light on the biggest problem. McDermott has nothing to hide behind. His unit choked against the worst offense in the league, after nearly choking against the other worst offense in the league last week. Clarity is good even when it's disappointing.

Can you imagine being Allen? You played the game of your life two years ago against the best team in the NFL and never saw the ball again in a loss. Now you're playing with an injury to your throwing shoulder and it's deja vu, putting on your Superman cape to pull out a win and once again your defense fails you. This regime is wasting an elite QB in his prime. Something needs to change, and while Allen has had his issues this year, he is not replaceable. Everyone in the front office and coaching staff is.

I weirdly feel as calm as ever. This loss gave me perfect clarity on the people in charge. I only hope Pegula feels the same.

Taking the "Josh" out of Josh Allen's game

Even though almost every injury he's suffered has been from inside the pocket. This coaching staff just doesn't get it. They're wasting the prime years of an elite QB. -
Taking the "Josh" out of Josh Allen's game

I'm watching Mahomes convert several 1st downs with his legs including a 3rd and 16 just now. Meanwhile our coaches have neutered our best player. I don't get it. -
If the Bills Don’t Make it to the AFCCG, Should McDermott Be Fired?
HappyDays replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall
29 points allowed to the worst offense in football. The more I think about it the more unbelievable it seems. Maybe there's some sliver of an argument that McDermott isn't the problem, but he certainly is not the solution. I'm ready to give someone else a shot. There are even several DCs in the league that I trust over him. Give me an offensive coach and a modern defensive mind at DC that is unlikely to ever get hired away as a HC. That's the modern formula for making it to the Super Bowl. -
I'm sick of Allen leaving the field with a lead or in position to get back into the game and his defense letting him down. So many resources spent on defense, the head coach is a defensive minded coach, and that's the result every time. It's unacceptable. Even the Giants almost did it to us. The two worst offenses in football and our defensive head coach can't stop them in crunch time. I've criticized McDermott before but now I'm just done with him. We will never win a Super Bowl as long as he is in charge.

It's a moot point. If the season continues this way and McDermott deservedly loses his job, Dorsey will be gone too.
-
That's fair but I didn't see any specific play calling or scheme issues today like I have in other weeks. It was mostly just poor execution. Defensively I thought our play calling was awful
-
I don't have any issues with Dorsey today. 25 points against a good defensive coach with Allen missing throws, pass protection issues, dropped passes. 1 more point than the Dolphins offense scored against them. On the other hand, 29 points allowed to a moribund offense. The coach responsible for that should be on the hot seat. Yeah, that coach.
-
No he didn't? He literally had the highest completion percentage in the NFL before today. He's been incredibly accurate all year, and then today he was suddenly missing high or too far.
-
All of his misses were the same, high and thrown too fast. Yes I believe the shoulder affected him a lot today.

Nobody played well in this game. But ultimately a loss like this falls on coaching. Two weeks in a row we've made the worst teams in the NFL look competent.
-
This is the sort of game that gets your defensive head coach fired. The Patriots offense has been awful against statistically bad defenses.
-
Remember against Jacksonville when our defense needed a stop? Or against the Giants when we let them get all the way to the 1 yard? This is all on McDermott, sorry. Defensive coach and his defense never comes up big when it needs to.
-
If defense manages to lose this game, McDermott has to go. I don't want to hear about injuries. It's a moribund offense. Figure it out.
-
If the right things happen it is a championship team. Allen's shoulder needs to heal. Kincaid needs to be our #2 passing target. Keep funneling the ball to Cook. Bass needs to get out of his funk. These are all correctable issues.
-
Escape with a win and hopefully Allen's shoulder is back to normal in a couple weeks
-
It is definitely the shoulder. He is rifling everything high.

The one upside of this is it gives Pegula an excuse to fire all the coaches and try again. Every year we get in these ruts where nothing looks crisp on either side of the ball.
-
It's about mechanics, not arm strength. He is not usually this inaccurate. It was the same after his elbow injury last year.
-
He can't put any touch on the throws. He's having to gun all of them at full speed. It's been an issue all game. Shoulder injury is definitely having an effect.
-
His accuracy is off today. I think the shoulder injury is worse than they have made it out to be.
