  1. I thought he had major issues in coverage but it was too late in the game for Pittsburgh to take full advantage of it. Mahomes and Reid will have him circled. By the same token I admit they may have Williams circled as someone that can be fooled with motions and other misdirection. No good answers here.
  2. Klein was really bad against the Steelers... I know he had one great 3rd down stop. But so did Williams. Klein to me is a spot starter you can get away with for 2-3 drives. Across a full game he is too limited and will quickly get picked on. Williams is scary and I would put a tight leash on him but I think he should get first dibs.
  3. Browns ownership must be reeling right now. I celebrate anything that makes them look bad. Go Baker go.
  4. I don't know if we could have survived the loss of Johnson and Bernard. Losing just Bernard makes me feel okay.
  5. Are you a Chiefs fan? You're definitely not a Bills fan with whatever the hell this is.
  6. Actually every bit of draft capital that Beane has expended on WRs has arguably out performed its investment (excluding random late-draft shots in the dark). Diggs has been more than worth the 1st and 4th we gave up for him. Davis has been better than a typical 4th rounder. Shakir has been better than a typical 5th rounder. Beane's issue hasn't been scouting talents at the position, he just has not thrown enough darts at the board. Hopefully that strategy changes this coming offseason.
  7. That's what I'm expecting, but the word according to who?
  8. I believe in the past we have used Siran Neal to man up on Kelce. I think the middle 3 personnel packages will have to be very creative today. I could see weird ones like Dodson/Neal/Johnson, or Dodson/Poyer/Johnson (with Lewis or Hamlin as the SS) to go along with the traditional packages. I think guys are gonna get moved around a lot as a means of papering over some awful injury luck and simultaneously keeping Mahomes off balance with what he's seeing.
  9. I understood their gameplan though. You're a huge underdog coming into a game with talent mismatches all over the field. In a game like that you almost have to do the exact opposite of what your opponent expects just to muddy the game somewhat and hope that by making it a closer game than it should be, you give yourself a chance to pull it out at the end. And to some extent it worked. 10-10 at halftime is as good as Houston could have hoped for. But of course that defensive gameplan depended on Houston's offense to do something, anything. Instead they barely managed to complete 1st downs on any given drive. So it was only a matter of time before Baltimore's talent pulled ahead. Ultimately Houston's OL was just nowhere near good enough to even keep it a close game. There is no amount of gameplanning or QB play that can overcome such a fundamental problem.
  10. Dodson Williams Klein Matakevich That is likely to be the extent of our LB depth today. It's certainly not ideal. The Bills pretty much always have 5 LBs active on gameday, but they are left with no choice if Bernard can't play. I would guess they'll go Dodson at MLB and Williams at WLB. If Williams is completely lost they'll pull him for Klein, or in a real emergency they'll bring Poyer down into that spot and start Cam Lewis at safety.
  11. Allen hasn't thrown an INT like that since his rookie season. And he doesn't throw game sealing INTs. Just game winning TDs.
  12. No way they can feel comfortable with a FG from any distance in these conditions.
  13. The Packers cannot leave it up to their shaky kicker. They have 67 seconds and 3 TOs to get into the endzone.
  14. Love has to be careful with these high check down throws. It bit him once. If it happens again it might kill the game for them.
  15. Purdy's ball placement has been awful today. That's one of the things he was doing well all year, and it's not like the conditions are THAT bad. Very weird.
  16. The 49ers #5 skill player is out here making more plays than a lot of teams #2s. Just insane depth.
  17. Man that's a tough one. I think he expected Jones to sit, but he kept drifting right. He even lobbed it to give Jones a chance to find the ball, but it didn't end up anywhere near him.
  18. Kyle Shanahan failing to run the ball late in a playoff game... stop me if you've heard this one before.
  19. QBs like Purdy and Tua are September MVPs. The sun is shining, the field is dry, all of their teammates aren't dealing with bumps and bruises. But the moment they get dragged down into the mud all they can do is lay there. Worst of all it is hard for their teams to move on from them because they show just enough success to make the teams nervous about the next guy being even worse.
  20. Packers fans were screaming for DC Joe Barry to be fired earlier in the season. Playoffs roll around and they turn into the Steel Curtain. Make it make sense.
  21. Think the Packers badly regret trading Rasul Douglas right now? They thought their season was over and made a move to build for the future, and look at them now.
  22. Gunslingers gonna gun sling
  23. He WAS a bum around week 5... There were flashes here and there throughout the season but he only finally put it all together last week against the Cowboys. What a time for him to unlock his potential.
