Here's a fact that really hurts - We likely win this game with DeAndre Hopkins on the roster. He catches those two deep balls that Sherfield dropped, and makes several other plays over the course of the game. A true #2 WR was there for the taking and we let him get away for the likes of Deonte Harty and Jordan Phillips. It's an inexcusable miss by Beane, and the outcome was entirely predictable.

Nah he was brutally bad in this game. Same as in all of our playoff losses. Starting Klein over Williams was a mistake. As soon as Williams came in we suddenly got a couple stops on defense. There were no defensive adjustments as KC casually moved the ball at will against us. The fake punt was dumb as hell, both situationally and the play call itself. As usual our head coach froze in big moments in a playoff game and we all suffer for it. Why should I expect that to suddenly change?

Throwing that route to Shakir against cover 2 was not hero ball. He was wide open in the end zone. Unfortunately Dawkins got walked into Allen's lap and he didn't get the throw off the way he wanted. But the game wasn't lost on that final series or on the missed FG. It was lost on multiple consecutive awful defensive drives, awful WR play from top to bottom (excluding Shakir), and an awful fake punt call. It is the same bad coaching and personnel decisions that have kept us nowhere near the Super Bowl every year that McDermott and Beane have been in charge.

This was the weakest version of the Chiefs that we will probably ever see under Mahomes. We got them in our stadium. We had an all-world Josh Allen performance. Mahomes missed 2 TD passes. We got lucky with a fumble through the end zone saving the game for us. And it still wasn't enough to get it done. I felt all along like it had to be this year that we beat the Chiefs to give fans some kind of confidence that this regime could get over that hump. After today, can we honestly be confident that this regime will ever take us to the promised land? That means McDermott AND Beane by the way. Defensive coaching in this game was awful. And ultimately poor WR play was once again our biggest issue on offense, after years of under investing in the position. I don't know man. I can't even find it in me to feel hopeful about next year with the same guys in charge.

But he had Shakir for a TD. The play was right there. He got hit so it ended up off the mark. It is so incredibly frustrating for our season to end like this.

Both defenses have seemingly made adjustments. This is it. This is the drive that we need someone other than Allen to make a play. Two incredible deep passes have been screwed up by Sherfield. Get back to the quick passes up the middle, it's all we got.

That's why you put Dorian Williams in the game!! He can move laterally.

Mahomes has missed a bunch of passes in this game. Can we make it count?

Superior coaching on that side of the ball. They have lost players to injury too. Coach is finding a way. Must be nice.

Maybe we will invest in some real outside WRs this offseason. They have to do it eventually, right?

He won't be. And it sucks. Because next year I will just be waiting for the inevitable. Chiefs will improve their WR corps in the offseason, they have cap space to spare. It will never be easier than it was this year and we wasted it.

Allen had to put on his Superman cape a dozen times and his effort is once again wasted by dumb ****ing coaching. Mahomes made a couple special plays but mostly just managed the game. And he gets all the glory. I am so sick of this crap.

They will be here for another decade. So we need to get a coach that can beat them. McDermott ain't it. I don't know how that isn't obvious at this point. Maybe we'll get the ball last and win. But that isn't a sustainable gameplan for the long term.

I'm sorry but McDermott has been terrible today. He will never lead a championship defense if he can't stop this version of the Chiefs.
