Darnold has been good enough for what the Vikings need but he is still the one limiting factor they have on offense. Passes outside are getting to the WR a tick late and he's not particularly accurate.
-
You have to know what kind of game you're in. Coaches that go for it every time are as bad as coaches that never go for it IMO. Play the situation.
-
Lmao a classic two runs up the middle from Nate Hackett. Guy hasn't changed a bit in 10 years.
-
In that case take the FG. The only bad move there is turning over on downs. I see too many coaches these days being overly aggressive in games that don't call for it. Yeah if you're playing the Chiefs you go for it on 4th and 2. Against the New York Octagenarians let the game come to you.

Ugh that is bad coaching. It's a low scoring kind of game and the Jets offense is spiraling. Punt the ball and dare them to drive 90 yards.
-
Nothing about this offense tells me they are a WR away. They're an offensive line, a coach, and a QB that can move without his joints creaking away.

Hahahaha

By the way that pick six is the result of a coaching mismatch as much as anything else. Minnesota knew exactly where Rodgers wanted to throw the ball and leaked a defender to that spot at the exact right moment.
-
Go trade a 2nd round pick and tie up a lot of cap space to make GM Aaron happy. Surely that will fix this broken offense.

Lol nice throw old man

Rodgers and Wilson still aren't on the same page on a lot of throws. Rather than work it out, Rodgers prefers to scowl and petition his team to trade for another one of his friends.

I just heard amazing news. Jeremy Maclin is on a plane to Buffalo as we speak. -
O'Cyrus Torrence.....He just hasn't taken that next step...

I don't think a RG is ever going to cost us games. The Chiefs are 4-0 with poor LT play. Torrence is a legit weakness on our team but not an insurmountable problem. It's more annoying than anything because the rest of our line has been so good that if he was playing at even an average level we could have a true elite OL. -

Edgar ALLEN Poe 🤔 (Yes I know this is much more likely to be a Ravens reference. Even more likely is that it means nothing!) -
Every season is the same. It's crazy. We look like the best team in football in September, then we lose one game which causes everything to spiral out of control, and then we get hit with a ridiculous amount of injuries especially on defense.

I posted this in the game thread too - doesn't this mean DeWayne Carter is the only possible 3T on the active roster? That new signing from Atlanta is a traditional NT. We have Branson Deen on the PS so I guess we'll call him up?

Cody Ford by my memory was even worse. Torrence really just has the one major weakness in his game, Ford on the other hand couldn't do anything right. But if it gets to the end of the season and Torrence still hasn't progressed then I will start to think we will need legit competition at the position next offseason. -

Spencer Brown showed flashes of elite play and had ridiculous athletic upside. Torrence doesn't have any of that going for him. My concern is that he hasn't showed any sort of progress. He is still getting beat in the same way he was last year. I'm not giving up on him, offensive linemen can take a while to develop, but early returns are not promising. -

One piece of good news: But pass rush is going to be a big problem on Sunday. Maybe Javon Solomon will show out. -

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't DeWayne Carter now the only 3T we have on the roster with Oliver and Johnson both out? I guess we'll call up Branson Deen? -

It's a great post Kirby, the quoted part is the only part I slightly disagree with. I am not one that thought the Bills should take the most pro ready WR in the draft. You have to use your top draft pick for with next five seasons in mind, not just the upcoming season. I really liked Keon Coleman in the context of that philosophy and I still do. I'm seeing what I wanted to so far - a WR that's open even when he's covered. His drop deep down the sideline was tragic but even there you can see the skills that make him such a good WR prospect for Josh Allen to have, he just needs to lock in the ball next time and not get greedy thinking about the endzone. His two back shoulder catches along the sideline in tight man coverage should be a staple of our offense, especially if defenses are going to dare us to throw the ball outside. But it's going to take him time to fully develop his skillset and learn the nuances of the position. Coleman was never a ready from day one prospect. So while I'm fine with taking somewhat of a project with their first pick, obviously I'm not satisfied with how they handled the room overall, and really that starts with how they've handled it since 2021. They've shown a shocking lack of urgency which continued this offseason. My biggest disappointment actually is Curtis Samuel. I know some think the Bills haven't figured out the right way to use him, but personally I think he just hasn't been as good as they hoped. Maybe it's the turf toe. He hasn't looked as explosive as promised and he isn't separating. It almost reminds me of Deonte Harty but with a much larger contract. Hopefully it is just a lingering injury holding him back.
