  1. It just goes to show the metric is basically useless IMO. Receivers inline or in the slot are going to have an inherent advantage, defensive coverage affects it, offensive scheme, etc. It's too context driven to draw any meaningful conclusions. Anyways pure yards of separation is somewhat overrated IMO. A pass catcher's job on a play is to create leverage that gives the QB a throwing window. There is no way to measure that on a computer chip like NextGen tries to do.
  2. One other note which explains why he thinks MVS has an uphill battle - apparently Claypool, Hamler, and Shavers all took 1st team reps today, but MVS tool none. That's something to monitor.
  3. Joe Marino was at camp today. Here are his notes:
  4. From earlier:
  5. It's known that he was dealing with an elbow injury that affected his mechanics for the last half of the season. Presumably he's fully healthy now and back to his usual throwing motion.
  6. Ha, I won't lie I am a tad bit nervous about the secondary given how easily the starting offense is moving down the field at every practice. But part of me just doesn't even care... The offense having the ability to flat out steamroll teams up and down the field is going to be the most important factor to a potential championship run.
  7. Rookie getting the 1st team reps: The competition is wide open.
  8. I think MVS is a lock too because we gave him guaranteed money. We will almost certainly keep 6 WRs though so there is room for both. I wouldn't count out Hamler or Shavers either. Joe Buscaglia said they each got a couple 1st team reps yesterday and that the team is very intentional about assigning 1st team reps. Hamler as a kick returner could be lethal so that alone might give him an edge in the competition.
