  1. San Fran could be a logical trade partner if the QB the Bills are interested in were to be there in that spot. San Fran is in a great draft position for any QB desperate team to trade with.
  2. That could have been a Bills post if they had lost. It almost was even though the Bills won. That KC draft choice is looking better and better.
  3. Hoping the Chargers win the AFC West. They play Oakland and KC and have a relatively easy remaining schedule. Bills have tie breaker on all the other teams in that division. Ravens have a very easy schedule other than Steelers game and have to hope that Bengals or Lions can knock them off as it appears Ravens have inside track if record is tied with Bills. Jags have a very easy schedule so if they don't win their division, they have a very good chance of one of the wild card spots. I know anything is possible in the next coming weeks, but I think that the Bills best chance is 4 wins in last 5 games. Otherwise, they will probably be on outside looking in. At least Bills are playing meaningful games in December. Jets and Miami probably can't say the same.
  4. Refs had to review because they couldn't believe Bills/ Jones actually scored.
  5. Peterman is a better fit for this offense than TT was. Dennison wants to run his offense which is difficult to do with TT because anticipatory throws by TT are not his strong point. TT is not the future of this franchise. The FO hoped for the best with TT but he didn't develop. He is who he is. Peterman now has had half a season to learn the offense and will have half a season to execute this offense. Peterman will be judged on how well he executes the offense, not on how many wins he generates this year. The odds are against the Bills making the playoffs this year based on the remaining schedule and the sudden dramatic decline of the defense. If, for some reason, the defense can overcome the last two weeks of poor tackling, and Peterman can move the team in the passing game, maybe the run game can get going and maybe the team can be a contender. That was not going to happen with TT. This week is a big game that will have a huge impact on whether the Bills are contenders or pretenders. As I look at this team, it has occurred to me that all those draft picks they accumulated for next year will not fill all the holes on this team. I believe the Bills are two years away from being a consistent contender. If Peterman is the real deal, the process just might be a little easier. This year will not tell all for Peterman.
  6. He will be evaluated on every play and at the end of the season the coaching staff will have a good feel whether TT is the type of QB that can take the Bills to the next level. Personally, I believe that given he is running a new system with new personnel, he is doing a fine job. The offense is showing improvement and I think they will continue to improve as this season unfolds. Next year should be even better as there should be less infusion of talent. It should not be a question as to whether TT should be the QB in 2018, but rather, what will 2019 look like when he is a UFA. That will be the tough question. I doubt the answer will be found dependent on win/ loss record but rather according to THE PROCESS.
  7. Until the Bills meet him in SB.
  8. Bills, thru draft or FA, will need: 1 or 2 DL next year (I would be surprised if Kyle is back) At least 2 LBs A guard WR QB (I would not be surprised if pick is currently under the radar) RB (youth) Depth at a lot of positions I also think some of these picks next year will be traded for future higher picks.
  9. Graham is an UFA after this season. Graham would be taking snaps away from Thomas and O'leary when Clay gets back. That being said, Clay and Graham would make a pretty good TE duo for the Bills offense.
  10. TT is at his best when the run game is moving the ball. If the Bills had lost Sunday, this board would have lit up about all the Uglies mentioned above. Tampa Bay has a very good offense. Winston played lights out. I was glad to see the defense still playing as hard as they did even when things weren't going well. I did not have a good feeling about this game and it went pretty much as I had feared up until the forced fumble. Great comeback. Interesting that all the teams the Bills played this year lost this weekend.
  11. Nice article. I know Marcel is more in the foreground but he looks huge compared to Kyle in the picture in the article.
  12. This is a gritty, hard fighting team that isn't beating itself. I would expect that to continue. This is not a team that will dominate on the scoreboard so most games will come down to 3 - 4 plays that will determine the outcome. So far, the Bills have won those 3 - 4 plays. Will it continue? Maybe. Maybe not. But I believe those 3 - 4 plays will be there every week and as long as they continue to not beat themselves, they will be in almost every game.
  13. If the Bills had taken Watson instead of trading down, the Bills would probably be 1 - 3 now since TT would still be starting at this point and the defense would not be quite as good without White who is a pretty good CB on a team that definitely needed one. Short term, Buffalo made the right decision, Long term, no one can say right now. I can understand the draft philosophy that resulted in trading down, getting an extra number 1 next year and then ending up with a very good CB. Is TT the long term answer? We will have a better idea after this season. Trust the process.
  14. Too early to worry about how this team will end up. Love what I'm seeing so far but I don't know that this offense is capable of playing catchup if they get down more than 10 points. I am hoping the offense can be more consistently good as the year progresses. Love the intensity of defense, offense and ST. Lots of things have fallen in place for the Bills to be 3-1 right now. They have definitely made their own good luck. Just have to keep getting better. Apparently, he didn't like "ALL IN".
  15. All that matters is the next game. Cincinnati will be a tough game. They are not as bad as their record may indicate, and the Bills are not good enough that anyone should assume any team they face is a given to be a victory. Still, I'm on cloud nine that the Bills are 3 -1.
  16. It's always better to be up 6 on defense than down 6 on offense unless you are the Bills of old, then you would need to be up by at least 11 and pray. Great win. Who would have thought we would be 3 - 1 and in first place in our division. Long way to go, but what a win.
  17. Roll outs and play action play to TTs strengths and helps the offensive line by making the defense have to hesitate. This also helps the offense when it is a 3, 5, seven step drop. The Bills have played 3 very good run defensive teams this year while incorporating a new run scheme. I believe the run offense will be much better for the rest of the season. Shady will get his yards. I thought the 2 passes he converted to first downs against Denver and the run for another first down late in the fourth quarter was vintage Shady. He is amazing. The WRs may not be even close to the better receiving corps in the NFL but it looks like to me they are getting open and making plays. It's going to be a tough game in Atlanta. Crucial to get the running game going, long drives on offense. Atlanta WRs are going to put a lot of pressure on the Bills defense.
  18. Concerns; * Bills offensive line Vs Panthers defensive line in passing game * Panthers tall receivers * Containing Cam * Lack of pressure by Bills defense on passing downs. Win or lose, I believe it will be a hard fought game on both sides. Do not believe the Bills will beat themselves, which is a big change from years past. Should be a good test and a great game.
  19. I pretty much gave up watching the NBA when the Buffalo Braves left. Just wasn't the same. If the Bills left, I would try to be a Steelers fan since that is what my wife follows. It just wouldn't be the same though. I know I wouldn't follow them with as much heart as I do the Bills. Maybe I'd give up watching football altogether and instead spend all my free time helping to make the world a better place. Thankfully, I don't have to make such crucial decisions for another couple of years.
  20. You like your first round pick to impact the game. If Shaq can basically shut down the running game on his side of the field, I say he is having an impact. He is slow off the ball but that is what he does. It doesn't appear to affect his ability to contain. Sacks are overrated. Contain and apply pressure is Shaq's forte. He will get his sacks as a result of breakdowns when the QB is disrupted from getting the ball out as planned. I love the run defense this year, and Shaq is an important part of that. It helps he has MD, JH and KW on that line with him. If he only has 5 - 6 sacks this season but shuts down the ability of the opposing defense to effectively run on his side of the field, he will have "done his job".
  21. I feel your pain. Every year I have high hopes that this is the year the pain finally goes away only to discover that moment when you realize that it's still there and will be for another off-season, no matter where we are in this season. I'm glad we have at least chosen a different course of action, radical as it may first seem to be. I couldn't have taken another season of what we went through the last two years. For now I will have high hopes, but there is a part of me that is real nervous about the first game of the year, one the Bills should win, but one they have found a way to lose in the past. I am hopeful this year is the beginning of things being different, maybe this year the ache will begin to subside. Go Bills
  22. Hard to believe the NFL is taking the word of medical "experts" over the his wife's statement. I believe they should sit him for any post season action just in case.
  23. I am interested in the whole process of building a winning team. Have been a Bills fan since 1970. I am intrigued with the off season and how the moves made will impact the future of the franchise. Some decisions I agree with, some I don't, many I don't completely understand. Then the games start and we all get to see if the team is moving in the right direction. I believe we will see some real progress this year, but that might just be because I was so disgusted with the product turned out last year. New year, new staff, a lot of new players. Tough schedule. How will it all go down? Exciting. Go Bills.
  24. The Bills are not going to tank this season. I believe they are an 7 - 8 win team. If TT takes another step in improvement and there are no significant injuries, maybe better. I am going to trust the process. Preseason is to evaluate players in a vanilla offensive and defensive environment. That's done. Did not see much of DiMarco in preseason. I think he will have a big roll going forward. There were very few roll outs, bootlegs, options. The Offensive line will look better when the defense has to respect TT scrambling and can't just tee off. No Glenn, no Mathews. If the offense can find a rhythm, the Bills will be competitive in almost every game. I think they will surprise a lot of people. Note: Historically, I have been way overly optimistic concerning the Bills only to have reality crush my hopes and dreams. If Rex had been here this year, I would have had to find another team to root for. Thank god that fiasco is over. I like where this team is going. I like the talent, I like the depth they are accumulating. I think it is a good start. Go Bills.
  25. I believe the strategy for Vlad playing is for McCoy to run through the giant hole left after the DT pushes Vlad 5 yards into the backfield. Also, because Vlad is so bad at blocking, the defense won't know if the play is a setup for the screen pass or Vlad just being sucky.
