  1. I love that with the Tyrod trade we basically pushed our chips to the middle of the table. We are all in on finding a QB. About gosh dang time...
  2. This is basically worst case scensrio in my opinion. I don't want "glass man" Bradford or to draft another middle round QB in the first. I still have a sick feeling from Losman and Manuel.
  3. I don't think he was right not to. Tells me he is scared of the competition, and doesn't want to risk the combine because he might slide down a few picks. If he really had confidence in himself he would not care if he goes 1st or 10th, because he should think he's good enough to be elite for a decade+ and get loads of cash and take his team to the promised land. Positioning himself now for a few extra bucks seems like the safe, albiet cowardly way to go. My $.02 anyways... I feel the same way about Jackson not running, broad jumping, or vert jumping when thats a bigtime part of his game. I want to see competitors who are not afraid to lay it out there anytime they are given a chance. Pro days are insulated, best case scenarios, and of course you will look better with scripted throws to recievers you have been throwing to, in a building you are familiar with, with coaches you know. I'm no "football guy" by any means. I have never held any position of coaching or FO of any football team, but if up to me, I would take Darnold amd Jackson off my board entirely.
  4. That's why I said I'm trying not to let the combine mess with me... But yeah of the available QBs, if I had the choice I would take Rosen. It's hard not to get sucked in by those pretty Allen throws though.
  5. For real. All of those moves unloading players for cap space and draft capital, plus trading down in last years draft was for the express purpose of getting a QB IMO. That was the narrative- sucks to see sammy/marcell/10th pick, etc go BUT we won't care once we get our franchise QB. Not getting one this year would be like saving up all your money for a new car, but then just blowing it on a lifetime supply of peanut butter and taking the train to work.
  6. I'm trying not to let the combine mess with my head. Allen looks GREAT in shorts. Those deep rainbows were jaw-dropping... But his completion percentage in college was dismal, amd that does not usually get better in the pros. I fear he is fools gold. Then Baker. Looked great too, very savvy. Unlike Allen he had a great college completion peecentage, but is too small with tiny hands. I saw his time with Mooch at the board too, very impressive, but go back and watch Tebow with Gruden at the whiteboard... Very impressive too. I'm atraid of Mayfield as well. Then you hear about how great Rosen is. The most "polished" and "natural thrower" in the draft amd he throws some wonky bricks.... But has prototype size/arm. I wanted Rosen before I saw the combine, and now I have no idea who I want, so I'll just trust the football guys amd hope we get the right one (or one of the right ones).
  7. Agree whole-heartedly. I would not even complain if they pulled a Ricky Williams style trade. About freakin time we get a real QB prospect without digging through the scratch and dent at the local Salvo.
  8. That's nice data and clearly you put work into it, but the fact is your chances of QB being elite is highest in the top 5 and deteriorates from there. Sure there are late rounders who are good, certainly; but if you want the best chance you draft the QB as eaarly as possible, whether it's a trade-up or not. Aside from that- We have tried waiting till most are off the board and jumped up to grab one (Losman). We have waited until mid rounds (Edwards). We have waited until late rounds (Cardale, Peterman). We have traded DOWN in the first (EJ). None of that has worked. The one thing we haven't done is draft one at the top of the draft, and it's about freakin time we tried.
  9. Good point. I would ship him out for a QB in a second though. Love shady, but a guy already having taken a step back who will be retired soon would be fine with me for a potential 10 year starter at QB. The QB is infinitely more important and it's not even close. And we could still draft RB amd sign a vet RB and be ok, but where are you finding a franchise QB elsewhere? Sure, MAYBE Cousins could be, but we would have to gut the team to afford his 12 billion dollar cap hit. Not that any of that matters, as you said tje Browns won't do it anyway.
  10. This is true. Almost all the greats are true dbags amd divas. I have a theory on this, and it goes as follows: WR is the only position on the field that is completely dependent on another player. They yammer on and whine like a sewing circle because they genuinely think they are being forgotten about or ignored if they aren't targeted 20 times a game. Either way, it's a problem. You can count the greats who werent divas on you're fingers. On topic: No thanks to thug Landry. The half-assed "apology" is BS. My mom always told me as a kid that "I'm sorry" means two things, 1. I didn't mean to do it, and 2. I won't do it again. I'm not buying what this scumbag is selling.
  11. These two posts together represent the most likely scenario to me. No chance philly pays him 7mil again to ride the pine when he can probably fetch a high pick. It's not so much the money as the fact they get nothing for him at the end of the year, but he has bigtime value from now until the season starts. They would be stupid to do it before they know Wentz is ok though.
  12. I'm no expert on cap stuff, but I am interested to see what they do with Eric Wood. They clearly have a card up.their sleeve and we will se what that is. Also, I know he has no dead cap hit, but I would be absolutely shocked if they let Benjamin go after just trading a 3rd for him midseason.
  13. Not much sympathy in this thread. And I won't add any. Karma's a B word.
  14. The game was on at wegmans when I was eating, and saw the halftime show. When I saw the score, I went home and turned the game on while in the workshop. It was muted (as per normal for the shop tv), but then I glanced over and the iggles were up with like 3 mins left and I intently watched the rest. I am surprised, as I don't normallu watch the SBs, but I guess the prospect of seeing Brady and Belchick lose was too tempting to miss. I really thought they would be up by 1000 points by the second quarter.
  15. Yeah..... The last great halftime performance was Michael Jackson. This years fell right in line with the trash that's beem trotted out since.
  16. Absolutely rediculous. People need to grow the hell up. So sad for this guy and his family. Drinking and driving is proof you are an idiot. We need mandatory jail time for dwi's, and a 10 year minimum revocation of driving priviledges. There needs to be real repurcussions beyond greenbacks.
  17. Yeah I saw one last year with a nascar category that nobody got. They literally showed a pic of a stock car with the Chevy bowtie on the grille and asked what the maker was.... With no response. Hilarious. I think this is the proper application of the term "book smart". They can tell you the atomic construction of cfc's or name venus' third moon, but you ask about sports and it's crickets all around. I'm convinced they put those categories in there to make "average joes" feel good.
  18. Me too. A rock in the middle, and a great guy/teammate. Guess it's long overdue I pick up a #70 jersey. Will be the only new jersey other than the KW I bought week 17. No more buying jerseys for young guys or splaah FA's. I currently have a Lynch, TO, Spiller, Watkins, Dareus, Edwards, and Pozluszny. Plus a freaking Watkins fathead. Yuck.
  19. Tha ks for posting. I could not find it upon cursory search (and other links here).
  20. Put Eric on. Would make me pay attention to it, and I don't now. Or somebody beloved (like freddy or kyle when he retires), not a mediocre receiver who was only here for 2 sips of coffee. I have no interest in Jones, they might as well have had Gibran Hamdan on. Look at Sabres, Biron has made their stuff watchable again.
  21. Ok but would that "ruin the offseason"? Tyrod was just about good as gone already. We would incur the cap hit though I believe.
  22. Yup. Not to mention, joint surgeries can be diagnosers for bad things. I went in for a "routine" scope on my ankle in high school. Supposee to be a quick fix. Once they got in there they realized it would have to be fused and never movee again. Just my experience with joints. And with pro athletes the successful surgeries are normally announced right away.
  23. No way they wouod do.a preseer for that. It would be mysterious "non football" issue and would leak after some time passed
  24. I'm sold. I don't think anybody else (esp glenn) would elicit this type of response.
