I have a Losman and an Edwards jersey.... I think I'm going to wait and see how he does.

I think Baker arguably would have to do less to get the nod. Obviously the reason Allen's odds are better than Darnold/Rosen because there is little else at QB so he is more likely to play. I think Guice probably has a pretty great chance at it, I would say that's where the smart money is at as far as risk/odds. Imo Sony has almost no chance. I have seen nothing from the pats that would leave me to believe that any RB will be a bellcow for them and get 20 carries/game.

Agreed, but I do believe he needs lots of talent on D to be successful. You can implement a cover 2 just about anywhere, but pettine's D needs a dominant D-line

This is it... These talking heads are just trying to defend their own rankings. Their job is less accurate than a meteorologists so they constantly have to defend their opinions and deflect what they got wrong. High graders are hoping Allen works out and they look smart, low graders hope he busts. Confirmation bias at it finest.

Spot on. And if the Pats drafted Allen, everyone would be saying it was the pick of the draft. This is just Buffalo sports. Half of it is the media who can't wait to slam small-market Buffalo, and some of it from fans with BBFS who can't make themselves believe that anyone we draft is good. The cycle perpetuates itself, sort of a causality loop for press and fans with drought ptsd. It's an inferiority complex, stockhoom syndrome, and selective outrage all rolled into one.

Let it be.. Brandon Beane (video)

Freakin' hilarious. I'm not sure Beane ever thought he'd have a love song written about him, and least of all by some random internet guy. -

You can edit the OP indefinitely.... Well, not YOU of course, but the original poster can edit the original post as many times and any time after. -

Once the UDFAs get signed, we need to do a list. I don't want to start a new thread for it given this one is pinned. Scrolling through every post on every page looking for new names (but finding mostly de beer) is tedious. -
Brandon Beane Approval Rating
Heavy Kevi replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well the fanbase doesn't get to make that decision. If it's up to me, AJM plays thks year. If he sucks, we get a nice early pick to get WR, OL, or RB help and focus on surrounding Allen. Fans can whine and cry all they want, Beane is going to do Beane. If he was going to fold to fan opinion, he would not have taken the lightning rod QB with a last minute mini-scandal. He's doing what he believes is best, irregardless of what we think. -
Thanks guys!

I'm not that good with hockey prospects.... And I'm still pissed about McDavid. How much of a consolation prize is Dahlin in comparison to McDavid? He supposed to be "generational talent"?

Josh Allen Background Video Stories
Heavy Kevi replied to aceman_16's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The more I see the more I like this kid. I'm not any more sure he will succeed in the NFL, but I think I'm closer to understanding why McBeane fell in love with this guy. It doesn't get anymore "family" or "process" than this. And btw... "Revenge tour", love that. -

I'm starting to warm up to the minimum post count for starting threads. Either that or a breathalyzer on the keyboard. That just seems harder to accomplish... -
Well, for years I have seen many saying we had great drafts, heck one time we even were the "self-described" winners of the off-season, and all of that resulted in bupkiss. Meanwhile, Goff, Wentz, Cam Newton, Jaemis, Mariotta, Mahomes were all risky/bad prospects that teams "reached" for. Grading a draft directly afterwards is like pulling out and then telling her "it's a girl". And you don't even know if she's preggo yet.

Allen scored highest on the Wonderlic this year...

Fitzpatrick would have been a good QB with Allen's arm. Fitz has to put everything he has into every throw because he has a noodle arm. This results in him completely sucking in the second half of the season because he is tired and worn down imo. -

The fallacy of Allen being the bigger "risk" than Rosen
Heavy Kevi replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OP is a reasoned, coherent argument. He's not who I would have drafted either, but I don't have that "Maybin" feeling about this one. I'm pretty optimistic for a couple reasons 1. We finally can identify our problems, and are proactive in finding replacements. They are not going to settle for mediocrity (whether Allen embodies it or succeeds). 2. Beane picked his guy, and was willing to move around the board to get him. Like Allen or not, Beane put his balls on the table, swung for the fences, and got his guy. -

I'm cool with the Allen pick... I probably would have taken Rosen, but I also get why they took Allen instead. That said, people need to stop comparing his comp% to players from 2 generations ago. It does not help your case. Just go with, as Mayock said yesterday "projection over production", where you realize he had inferior talent and coaching and believe you're staff can mold him. He does have the highest ceiling of anybody in this class, but also the highest bust potential by a mile. There is no way to spin that horrendous comp % positively. It's bad, but hopefully he improves his fundamentals and becomes what they drafted him to be.
