You always hear about how terrible it is in Buffalo (or WNY) with all the snow and cold. We are treated like an leper tundra community by players/fans/media from the so-called "nicer" parts of the country, most commonly the south and west coasts (usual suspects being Florida and California) You would never expect it would be 80's and brutal 90's for most of our summer, but that's beside my point. What is better, cold and snowy for 4 to 5 months a year, or "fair weather" most of the time with natural disasters and dangerous creatures? I contend WNY is better. I am partial because I LOVE the winter. But besides that, the northeast woodlands are generally insulated from destructive forces. No hurricanes, monsoons, tornados, earthquakes, wildfires, poison snakes and spiders, and our apex predator (bears) are the easiest to deal with in an encounter (compared to other apex predators). I also like that I could build a house, and feel reasonably certain it will still be standing when I'm dead. I imagine most will agree with me since this is a Buffalo-based forum, but am curious to what you guys think. What say you?

Regular season overtime question
Heavy Kevi replied to BrycePaup4ever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, and I believe it has happened. Muffed kickoff, fumble recovered, then run, run, run, FG. -
Too bad too, because all of my buddies are always trying to get me to get one and ride with them.
-
I have crashed 3-wheelers, quads, dirtbikes, minibikes, golf carts, a moped, and cars/trucks... ...for that reason I have decided not to ride a motorcycle. When you are in a crash on a motorcycle, you die. No thanks.

I certainly don't know, but I do know change can equal worse. Remember thinking "we were 4th in the league on defense and brought in defense guru Rex, we can't be worse"... Treat it like a whole new team in a whole new year. Rollover from last season only happens to stable teams with continuity throughout the team. New QB, OL, OC, and LB does not equal continuity. I think it's highly likely whoever plays QB for us (or the combination) will throw for more yards, plausably for more TD's as well.. The thought of us regressing comes from the likely influx of a different number: INT's. Hopefully somebody lights it up and that is not a problem, but the added yards, TOP, and TD's need to be enough to effectively counterbalance the probable INT swell.

Heartbreaking. Dogs are better than people, and it's a damn shame they only live a fraction of our lives. I have several dogs, have lost several, and am dreading the loss of my oldest (best buddy) since he's over 10 and starting to show it. Hang in there, especially the kid. Legitimate concerns here. Right now the pet food/treat industry is having a reckoning. So much use of dead dogs in their food that there were significant levels of the euthanasia drug in the food (especially wet foods). And now you hear about heart disease in even small dogs as a result of grain-free food. The changes did not happen fast enough for many animals (and owners). Problem is the industry is not regulated well at all. You just can't trust anything, and I always rotate food types to try and mitigate the risk of one or more having problems. I have made dog food in the past for them, but it's a very costly and time consuming task. Just wish there was a way to KNOW that food is safe for our dogs.

Hey, I'm a civil libertarian, I hear you about taxpayer money. But if these programs are making huge profits, I believe there should be some sort of profit sharing or collective bargaining for these players. Even after college, the NFL prospects often go out and get [presumably] hugh interest cash loans to wear 100k around their neck on draft day. I would also like the NFL to invest some money in professional management and money services for these kids, even when they are still in college. You take some poor farm kid or ghetto kid that is only there on scholarship and give him 30 million dollars, and everybidy is shocked when they make poor decisions. That's all I'm saying.
-
Perhaps if they get something, it would benefit the many college guys that don't make the NFL, and maybe teach the ones who are getting in how to handle a few bucks before the millions fall from the sky. I'm not talking about big money... 30k or something yearly. Some of these guys are household names and are making their programs millions, all while bumming rides and scraping together cash for a $5 footlong.

Jaguars off to a 5-0 start, killing opponents
Heavy Kevi replied to Cripple Creek's topic in Off the Wall Archives
The process goes like this: 1. Hire a new GM. He must be diametrically opposed to zoos. 2. Attack him on social media 3. When he resigns, call him a "great guy", and declare that "he did a heck of a job". 4. Zoo animals call up Trump, tell them they are tired of winning. Trump says no, we're gonna keep winning. 2019 new zoo motto: Keep Audobon Zoo Great -
Jaguars off to a 5-0 start, killing opponents
Heavy Kevi replied to Cripple Creek's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Trump fosters an attitude of division and species superiority. This Jaguar was emboldened by his tweets. Pretty obvious really. -
Yeah I agree with every word of this post. Two Bills Drive, BBMB, and Bladeforums.com are the only "social media" I have been involved in (if that counts?) I've never had a Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, Instantgram, or any of that. Honestly I don't have a computer or even internet at the house, just this dang smartphone. Social media is the scourge of our time, and quite frankly I live an incredibly happy life and wholeheartedly believe it's because I am only worried about pleasing myself. Like my Grandma always said "those who care don't matter, and those who matter don't care". Cheers, Rags

To further stir the pot... https://articles-newyorkupstate-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/articles.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2018/07/attorney_delicia_cordon_no_longer_certain_lesean_mccoy_was_involved_in_the_attac.amp?amp_js_v=a2&amp_gsa=1#amp_tf=From %1%24s From Cordon's attourney, she is "no longer cettain" McCoy is responsible, but she "suspects he had something to do with it". It stands to reason that if she's not even sure, perhaps outsiders shouldn't be either. Somebody has to be the devil's advocate.

That's a fair assessment. I also see your point about "caring what others think" just on this forum, but thanks to unsubstansiated accusations (perhaps true, perhaps not) on social media, people have lost careers, credibility, etc in the real world. These people have been harassed, threatened harm upon, and more. It's all fun and games and just bluster on the internet until it's not. People put all their info online these days. If you want to ruin someone you can just start a tweeting campaign at their employer or smear them publicly with just a few key strokes. We are sliding into a world where public opinion is formed by internet mobs... and like it or not they have the power to take people down. I honestly believe being falsly accused and living that hell can be just as bad as some of the crimes they are accused of. If I had to pick a side or place a bet, I would bet on Shady being involved. There is a decent amount of circumstansial evidence, but contrary to the common coloquialism- where there is smoke, there isn't neccesarily fire. At the very leasy we have to be leery of a frame job, which you are much more likely to be targeted for if famous, rich, or a d-bag: and Shady checks all those boxes. And lets not forget that she is also a possible disgruntled ex.
-
I see your point, but the prospect of guilty until proven innocent is one of the scariest things I can imagine. From my perspective, it would undermine everything I believe in about what a justice system should be. First off, nobody is saying McCoy attacked her personally, it was reportedly by a third party. The link (or lack thereof) to Shady is not yet publicly known. Really hard to jump on someone because of what amounts to speculation since we aren't close to the situation. Now of course I think OJ did it. But the main difference is that has played out. I watched the trial. Right now in the McCoy case, we have some cryptic wording from her lawyer and a social media post by someone close to her that was quickly deleted. There has to be more to guilty than that. We can't assume people are guilty. Let me also say that I believe McCoy is the most likely suspect in this case, and I would not be surprised if he did it. Cordon seems as credible as anyone I suppose since I don't know anything about her other than she's beat up. I just don't allow myself to prejudge situations in a social media lynch mob. Accused does not equal guilty. My $.04

I changed my mind: OJ didn’t do it
Heavy Kevi replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mean this in the nicest way possible- you are incredibly skilled at trolling. I will admit to believing you were legitimately crazy in the Orton WOF thread, but now I get it. Cheers! Ps- if anyone is wondering if OJ did it, watch the recently aired special interview with him (from years ago)... Or read his book entitled: "IfI did it" -
Would you take this bet on Buffalo sports?
Heavy Kevi replied to Fadingpain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd take the bet. Basically it's a decision if you think either team can win a championship over the next 50 years. I would HAVE to take it. I can't be that pessimistic, but I would also like to set up a possible twofer, as watching the Bills win a championship AND I get 10 grand- that would be a hard day to beat. Plus I would like to see a championship before I'm 83. -
Unless you have more info than the rest of us, you are crazy. There is a massive difference between "a bit of a sketchy guy" and a sick animal capable of woman abuse. I wouldn't say I need a jury to decide, but since I don't have all the facts (and frankly neither do you), I will wait for the jury since it's the only group of citizens that will even see all the info. Put me on the jury and I'll decide for myself, but that won't happen. I get it, you aren't in the minority, everyone just assumes bad things are true because you don't like his vibe or whatever. Being wrongly accused (and deemed guilty on social media) can be just as much of an terrible ordeal as what she went through. If Shady loses everything because people like you mark him guilty with almost no info, and he's actually innocent, it's a goddam tradgedy. So yes, I believe in benefit of the doubt. I don't prejudge situations that I don't know enough about, but maybe that's just me.

LeSean McCoy allegations
Heavy Kevi replied to FeelingOnYouboty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's when these things get real ugly, when it can't be proven true or untrue. If it's a he said/she said situation, we probably won't have much info until the prospective trial is over, and the cloud would linger over Shady for possibly the whole year. In this social media world of mob justice and complete ignorance of the law standard "innocent until proven guilty", it could/would/will be a mess. Just like religion and politics, people will pick sides and be adimant about it, even with a lack of evidence. If untrue, it's a damn shame that Shady will be shouted down, called a wife beater, animal, scumbag -and every name in the book-... His good name will be dragged through the mud, and a portion of the population will always assume him guilty, and he will never escape that label. Obviously if it's true he deserves that, but folks won't wait to find out. It's already started. The internet (especially social media) in 2018 is a terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad place. -
LeSean McCoy allegations
Heavy Kevi replied to FeelingOnYouboty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This animal can be lured, and is known to have an affinity for... Bears, beets, battlestar galactica. On the Shady front, we really need some new information to fill in the blanks. I hope it happens quick, the last thing we (or of course shady, or the girl) need is for this thing to drag out. No matter the outcome, everyone loses if this investigation doesn't move quickly. I'm hoping it's BS obviously but it wouldn't be the first time a Bills RB brought hired guns to get his stuff back. OJ did 9 years for it.
