  1. This is what everybody was talking about in the lot after the game. Leslie is a legitimate DC it surprused me, then again the D did improve (significantly imo) in the second half.
  2. Meh. Deciding a coach and/or GM is no good after 1 or 2 years is what got us into this mess in the first place. Complain all you want, but leave McD and Beane in their post for 5 years minimum. The playiff berth should have at least bought them the duration of their contract. I'm just not at the point where I hyperventilate over games in a season we know is a throwaway already with over 30% of the cap dead. Who thought we were going to field a competitive team with a rookie QB and less than 70% of the money other teams have?
  3. What a terrible take this is. Not because I disagree but just because it's simply not true. If you "do your research", you would know that breeders are the ones perpetuating a problem and adopting solves a problem only solved otherwise by mass euthanasia. Also, adopting REQUIRES a spay or neuter. The line about using a breeder or you don't deserve one? Wow thats preposterous. Really, do some research. You don't have to tell us, or even admit it to anyone, but you would benefit from it.
  4. I think they will try and run the ball, given Shady amd Murphy are the most dynamic skill players we have right now.
  5. Haha... I was going to post this. What's worse is the guy isn't even good at acting. He actually looks like someone trying to fake it.
  6. When Gruden told Spiller to "remember the pointer sisters", I always pictured this scene.
  7. I can't wait. I have been to 20ish games, but never to hammers.
  8. I'm not talking about this year, though. No way they give up on him before the year is out, I mean if it takes him until year 3 to be good, but they give up on him after next year. When you draft a guy that high and he has physical tools like that, you have to give him some rope, especially since the report on him was always he will need time to develop.
  9. To jump in on the "ruined" topic, I agree with you players can't be ruined mentally (like what folks say happened to Trent Edwards). When I say ruin, I mean take injuries (obvious junk OL). Either that, or suck early and the organization doesn't give you enough time to show what you have. I believe the latter is much more likely, though it would not really be Josh fault. The "IT" I speak of is not a flashy throw. I think that's the one quantifiable benefit Josh has, and it's inherent so it's not an "it factor" imo. When I say he has "IT", I mean the time, study, preparations, charisma, leadership, etc that have been reported by coaches and teammates. "It" also refers to the fire, the sense of competition that he shows. EJ for example didn't get enough time to show what he had, but acted like he didn't care and was not a leader. I believe Josh has IT and it's not from a flashy throw, it's the combination of his character AND the physical tools. That's my take.
  10. I will agree with the spirit of the OP, that the CBA hurts the product on the field. I also believe it leads to more significant injuries during games. However, I do not believe it unfairly impacted us/McD this year since it's the same rule for everyone. As for McD/Beane, they should be doing whatever it takes to field a competitive team within the current rules. I think making excuses for them sends a bad message from an FO that pushes accountability so fervently. The CBA is not going anywhere. Although the fans have historically sided with the billionaires against the millionaires, the owners/NFL are scared of another strike situation and will continue to endow these young men with unprecedented contracts and concessions. This likely means an eventual trimmimg of preseason, cutting practice further, limiting contact in practice, limitimg meetings, and additional in-game rules for safety. As long as fans continue to spend big bucks, the owners and players will continue to make more and more money, all while doing less and less work. C'est la vie
  11. I'm glad everyone isn't ready to jump in front of a train. 1 week in, less than 2 quarters for Allen and now half the fanbase hates McD? I just don't get it. I have tons of hope for Josh, McD, and the team in general- but not today. The success (if achieved) will be in the subsequent years. The biggest surprise is that fans are now just realizing that, as I believe it has been blatantly apparent the whole time (since last year). We can look terrible every week this year, but as long as Josh shows progress, I'm happy. Remember how bad the first years were for guys like Wentz, Goff, and Peyton, and how good the first years were from guys like Prescott or even RG3 or VY. There is no defined path to success with a QB, it takes all kinds. I believe Josh has IT, and will force himself to succeed. Stay the course. Trust the process. Don't panic. There will be pain, hopefully followed by a long sustained period of success. That's the whole point of this, whether it works or not.
  12. It's really simple, McDermott needed to show some semblance of honesty here. He said it was a honest-to-goodness QB competition. Nate was the most effective in the preseason by a country mile, so to start AJ or Josh would have signaled everyone that the competition was a sham all along, and in that case Josh should just have gotten all the reps all along.
  13. Haha. The waiver provided by Lights Holdings, LLC and Lights Out Pro, Inc. I would't mind throwing back a beer with the guy, but I'm not going all WWF at the opener.
  14. 16/28 207 yards 1TD 1INT 1FUM, 5 carries for 39 yards. He will take some sacks too for sure, hence the fumble prediction.
  15. I don't need stats to tell me they were better with Allen in there... To play devil's advocate, it was kind of pre-season-ish. Big deficit, we pull Nate, they pull Flacka. It's just hard to tell- everyone knew the game was over. It's obvious Josh is better, and the only reason I would sit him for a few more weeks is the line's collective inability to block anyone. I will admit that trotting Nate out there again would send the message that it's a throw-away year, and you are just protecting Allen.
  16. I hope McDermott realizes he can't go back. The Peterman era lasted 2 quarters. Unless Allen gets killed we should not see Peterman again. This year will test Josh's toughness. He's a large frame farm boy, so he should be able to handle it, but it won't take long to see. I am a little concerned that he's not afraid to get hit at all. Don't get me wrong, I love that about him, but it could be a killer.
  17. Nope it wasn't. Bet you think you are clever, even though I even said it was a bit of a crazy prediction.
  18. . Sorry to change it up, but I need to switch this to General because we won't be able to get there until 8am. I am going to edit my original post to reflect the change.
  19. I didn't expect us to be good this year... ...but this is profoundly bad football. I'm not sure we will even get a first down today. Edmunds showing promise though.
  20. Give them a break. They will get past 0 before the game is over.
  21. I'm not buying this reasoning. They are eating 3.5 mil from cutting coleman, not to mention the 50mil (I think) already in dead money from Dareus, etc... 46k is not driving decisions at OBD
  22. Bills with the points. 8 point spread in the first week is low hanging fruit imo, especially out-of-division.
  23. In a word: Chrome Get chrome and turn on the ad blocker. Then even when the pop-ups make it through they open in a new tab and you can just close the new tab. In the default browser (pixel 2, galaxy note 5/8) I have the same problems not being able to close windows and being redirected to spam (and no back button functionality), now with chrome as default browser, problem solved.
  24. Ah, yes... Government. Ironic since it's what makes you want to swear the most. I am very disconnected from "white collar", heck I don't even own a shirt with a white collar (true story). I'm not sure I would last long in you're world. Dif'rent strokes for dif'rent folks so they say. Merica- !@#$ yeah!
