  1. I think it's fair to say at the very least that Supreme Court openings/prospective openings bring out conservative voters. There are many other factors but I believe it's been more than proven. Your point about judges being unpredictable is true. There would have been many more conservative majorities in the SC if all the picks ended up being as conservative as was though when nominated/confirmed. And Obamacare is only popular because Trump isn't. It's a pile of trash and that has not changed, but you know propoganda on both sides determines the narrative and the liberal propo on this one have made it a binary decision: Obamacare or the plan made up by the evil repubs that want to take everything away and let you die in the streets? As far as conservatives voting against their interest, that point is taken, but with a different interpretation. I think it's more fundamentally what people want from gov't. Surely you remember JFK "ask not what your country can do for you, etc", and that really is where I stand. I don't vote for things/people because I want something or want to make my life easier. I vote for what I believe is in the long-term best interest of the country. I am a libertarian and differ with republicans on tons of issues (mostly social), and am far from a Trump stumper, but for the last few cycles it's about lesser of evils; and right now the biggest evil is the draw to a government dependent citizenship (in my opinion of course).
  2. Well those court battles are often brought in places with heavy liberal influence (as I'm sure you know). When Trump has something overturned by the 9th circuit, or the judge in Hawaii, etc you know which way it will go. You can underestimate the importance of the judiciary, as liberals always do, but my point that it brings out conservative voters is absolutely true. Now obviously the Supreme Court is the crown jewel of the judiciary, and that is somewhere you can't deny will have a real impact.
  3. Yeah I think the biggest story is this "historically unpopular" president did better in his midterms than many, if not most recent presidents with much higher approval ratings. It's about time that people recognize that what is now called Trumpism or Conservative Populism is really just a new name for the ongoing tea party movement. While everyone argues about racism, taxes, healthcare, etc, the conservatives and tea party are going to keep voting for judiciary appointments.
  4. Looks like two years of nothing but judicial confirmations and maybe infrastructure, followed by a Dem loss in 2020.... I think I can live with that. House is about to be even more of a circus than it has been. These idiots will crush their own adgendas.
  5. Yeah stuff like that is why I get that feeling. Hard to tell though, some people smile or laugh when they are embarassed or uncomfortable.
  6. I think his apparent dispassion is a mix of frustrations about the QB, frustration with himself for sucking, and all the while wanting to look like cool hand Luke. He strikes me as the "too cool" type who doesn't want to commit mentally or take his share of the blame. Maybe I'm off base but that is my sense.
  7. 30% of our cap is dead. Is anyone surprised that given we have hands tied against the cap, that our team's number 1 weakness is cheap? That's wayyyyyy better than paying alot and having a crap OL. When we do get legit OL players, we won't have anoyher heap of dead money from the old guys. This is part of the plan, guys. I know people don't want to talk about it or admit it but this is a 5 year plan. I don't know if it will work, but responsible cap decisions can payoff big time in the future if managed well from this point forward. I'm sure people will say "I have seen nothing to show they can do this", and that is true, but whether you believe it or not, you haven't seen anything to show they can't either.
  8. Nobody of consequence (if anyone) will be fired. Probably/maybe Crosman. Yup. And they will follow the same path- bottom out for several years and get top talent. The fact that it may have worked with the Sabres will give the Pegulas added patience with McBeane. They are not 'sports' people, and I surmise they believe they have found somewhat of a 'formula'.
  9. Whatever keeps Peterman off the field. I never want to see that kid play football again.
  10. Optimally you keep Tyrod and he plays all year when Allen develops, then a team offers you a (likely high) 3rd round freakin' pick for him! You trip over yourself to sign the papers before CLE recants, and figure out the QB situation later. Once you realize a guy isn't the franchise, you don't really have a choice when offered more than he's worth, you just take it.
  11. 6k... Not bad. It's 6k more than they had before the Bears talked ***** about us.
  12. New England... Of course. He will clear waivers and sign a 1-year contract with the Pats* for $0.47.
  13. That's why Bills fans are using the hashtag #MoreThanBreakingTables Trying to scrub the public image... And why not if it benefits a kids cancer center, right?
  14. https://www.wivb.com/news/local-news/billsmafia-donates-to-chicago-foundation-after-being-called-laughing-stock-of-nfl-/1571092616 Basically, the Bears trashed us, and Bills Mafia decided to do the new-look Bills Mafia thing and donate money to a Chicago area Pediatric cancer center. If anybody would like to continue the contribution, they can donate here (to a fantastic cause): https://www.bearnecessities.org/donate/ Update: Total donated surpasses 10k: https://www.wivb.com/news/local-news/bills-fans-donate-nearly-10-000-to-foundation-after-getting-called-laughing-stock-of-the-nfl-/1579380158
  15. You are not being unreasonable. And he can't "rub you nose in being a Bills fan", since being a bandwagoner is so much worse. I would invite him to the tailgate and then verbally accost him for being a bandwagoner. Best unis? That's rediculous. Pretty pathetic how some folks need so desperately need to be associated with a winner that they switch teams and act like it's ok, but I'm happy to shred them if they decide to try and talk *****.
  16. I agree with every word. I hope he does well (I am not sold on this happening though). But yes, his career is over imo if he has another multiple INT game with a pick-6.
  17. Disqualifications (as previously stated): Can't run or catch. Game. Set. Match.
  18. Haha you are something else. Answer: nope. Come on, you know you want to argue about my coloquial use of "something else", or anything that sidesteps the real argument.
  19. Cool man, just keep changing your argument. First, top 40 meant qualified, then it was rookie stats, and now it's hypothetical situations. As I stated, in my opinion Benjamin is not a qualified receiver. Get over trying to parse out every word and understand the real argument. I didn't say there were WRs out there that are better, didn't criticize anyone for not bringing people in. My argument is that it is not Dabolls fault the offense sucks but since you have no real argument for that you choose to argue about our differing definitions of "qualified" WRs.
  20. Rookie stats are old news, right now Benjamin can't run or catch. As a WR I say that makes him not qualified.
  21. Really was the turning point imo... I was worried when Edmunds went out, and unfortunately it turned out not to be unfounded. Once that play happened, NE started picking on Stanford (who had actually had some good plays before that).
  22. I said qualified, not where they were drafted. By your logic, we should bring back James Hardy (pick 41).
  23. Idk about that, but it certainly wasn't good. And frankly, he's a shell of his former self. I honestly think that today Ivory is the better HB. Shady is still much better in open space, but just doesn't run downhill and dances around but isn't fast enough anymore to make it around the defense. We can't suffer through 5 negative runs every game just for one 25 yard cutback. Cutondime just doesn't describe McCoy anymore. I would rather give 20 carries to Ivory. If we get a credible offer for Shady we absolutely should pull the trigger.
  24. Got it. I thought you were serious but now realize you are just trolling. Carry on
  25. Yeah, makes me think Shady.
