Josh’s TD run was MVP awesome, before Josh was robbed again.
Heavy Kevi replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
The crazy thing is Phin fans are saying the refs should have been in bills jerseys, because they were trying to help the bills win. I saw some bad calls both ways but those back-to-back holdings were BAD BAD. Taking points off the board for ticky-tack calls. The rapp flag was a joke. And the poyer flag, well... They had to throw that. And the idea that Poyer was a "double agent" (very popular among dolphin fans)... Yeah except he broke the arm of our star in the making WR. So if he was trying to help he didn't do it very well. -
10/20/24 Game 7 GAMEDAY Bills vs Titans 1st half thread
Heavy Kevi replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Lol nice backtrack Deferring is probably the easiest decision in all of football You can call it arrogance, but it's really just sound decision making. When you take the ball you risk losing your advantage immediately (as happened today). It also puts a ton of pressure on the first drive. If you don't cash in for whatever reason, you lose the strategic advantage. When you defer you not only have the advantage of taking away the other teams advantage right away, but you also gain the possible coveted "double-dip", getting an extra possession. Tell me again how I'm ignorant? -

No I'll never praise taking the ball. It's stupid. You ALWAYS defer. Always. McDermott made a dumb decision, which you have chosen to defend. -

It's like McDermott hates making good decisions. Winning the toss and taking the ball instead of deferring? Wtf -
DQ aside, I think Beans just outsmarted himself with the WR room this year. He did at WR what he's done at other positions previously (with better results than the WR "rebuild"). He signed a bunch of guys who either had above average/elite physical traits or needed a reset, hoping one or more would emerge. MVS and Claypool with legit chances to break through. Samuel and Hollins with real opportunities to step into the light. And of course all of this with the expectation Kincaid would be Kelce 2.0. But obviously it all fell straight on it's collective face and he looks like a dumbass. Had his plan worked, he'd look like a genius. That's what he was hoping for. I also think that the expectations have shifted. I think beane and FO generally expected a "down" cap correction year, or as Beane put it himself "a transition year"... But then they found themselves 2 games ahead in the east, Tua/phins toast and Jets looking bad. Beane says "F it", stops the failed "everybody eats" at WR BS, and goes out and gets a real WR. I'll give him credit for reading the room and making a move. That Samuel contract though, yowza. And it didn't have to get to this. As you said he could have just gotten us a real WR to begin with and cut out all the nonsense. He obviously didn't, but at least we aren't the team we used to root for, who would assuredly do NOTHING until the next off-season. I will completely agree with you I'd like to see over investment in the offense as well. We have Josh freaking Allen. Just outscore everyone else and save the experimentation for the defense.

Sure you can make it seem like I'm wrong. Aikman and McD had the same problem... Looking at it in a vacuum, without seeing the larger picture of this is Aaron Rodgers and not just "generic NFL QB" Doesn't mean I contradicted myself but if it makes you feel cool to talk on the internet, more power to you.
-
Of course it was going to be a hail Mary. McDermott failed to see the obvious. Even Aikman goes "they will try to work the sideline here" and I thought (out loud to my TV), "why would they work the sideline with the best hail Mary thrower the NFL has ever seen" And the bills are one of the worst at defending it.

10/6/2024 - Bills at Texans 1st half game thread.
Heavy Kevi replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Our first three games aside... This is more like what I expected of this year. This roster is horrid Josh is hurt. At least broken hand. Hasn't run much since. 2 3rd downs today he could easily have converted by running. And... McD lost the team last year The lack of talent will be McD's excuse to waste yet another year of Josh. Pegulas reticence to can McD is the real reason all of this is happening. It's all fruit of the poison tree. This team can go nowhere with this coach. They need new energy. Plus, this is the worst I've seen Josh play potentially ever. -
Tyreek Hill apparently arrested this morning…
Heavy Kevi replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hey, I can be an ahole when I'm pulled over but I know what legally I'm allowed to do and say. In a traffic stop you can't roll your window back up. It is true officers oftentimes use "officer safety" as a cudgel, but the truth is you are subjected to some things in a traffic stop... And rolling the window down enough to communicate is one of them. I don't roll my window down all the way (even if asked); but you HAVE to be able to communicate. Even if the officer doesn't like it, or you don't like it. Yowza. This response is just a little bit scary. It is true they have some authority on a traffic stop, but the idea we aren't on equal footing with police is bonkers. Just to be clear... Police officers are ONLY authority if you are committing, have committed, or have reasonable suspicion that you are about to commit a crime. If a cop walks up to you and demands, or "reasonably requests", or gives instructions, they are NOT authority, those are NOT lawful requests, and you are indeed on equal footing (or you are a bit higher actually as they are public servants who have sworn an oath to uphold your rights). Now Tyreek, he's a bag of Richards and rolled up his window during a legal traffic stop when he WAS subjected to reasonable, lawful requests from an officer that he denied and ultimately got arrested for. That's totally in bounds. But the blanket "they are authority" is just plain not true in most cases. If you don't break the law, police are not authority, they are servants of the public. They also have a very dangerous, important job. We entrust them with powers to keep the peace and they risk life and limb on a near daily basis. Both things are true. But let's not mislead people into thinking cops ARE authority when they are only authority in certain specific circumstances. Our bill of rights doesn't cease to exist just because someone has a badge. -
Why the personal foul on Kyler Murray Slide happened.
Heavy Kevi replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah I am in the "replay" crowd. When a defensive player doesn't even make contact (besides incidental leg-on-leg) you can't call that. You just can't. It makes the league feel fixed. I'm not "mad" at the overall game and it doesn't seem fixed in this case because there were so many bad calls both ways New season, same convo. Refs are so, so bad and there is no sign of it getting any better. -
I barely even remember seeing him on the field. But he was... A lot. I really thought he'd be the focus of the pass game🤷🏻♂️

Josh Allen's Turkey Burger Buffalo Wild Things Let James Cook Bleu Cheese Mafia Neon Keon's I haven't done fantasy in a decade, but my last team name was "Manuel Transition". I bet you can guess what year that was.

Tua gets the bag - $53M a year
Heavy Kevi replied to hellofellowbillsfans's topic in The Stadium Wall
I mean... The spirit of your comments are that Josh is better so we should pay him more. But that's just not how it works, at least anymore. Now, if you are a top 16 QB and you are up for a contract, you become the highest paid QB (and NFL player) ever. That's just how it goes. Look Tua gets 53, and right afterwards Love gets 55. Josh will be the highest paid player again as soon as he signs his next deal. Whenever that is. -
That's why this debate needed to happen. For the American people, but even more for the Democratic party. The people out there denying Biden is gone-zo behind the eyes have now seen first hand... He's just as described by prosecution in the classified docs case, "an elderly man with a poor memory" As described by the BBC "the two looked 30 years apart [in age]" But more than anything the Democratic party needed a reason to go DEFCON 1 and convince either 1. Biden to step down, or 2. Congress to 25th amendment him. Tiberius, the only issue with this is that the people are supposed to decide the candidate. Biden won the primary. He got the votes. At best, this is the party doing a disservice to the country by letting a cripple run, and at worst this is a deliberate plan to let the DNC choose the candidate as opposed to the voters. And the dem party has a recent history of contempt and distrust for their voters. Just see the Hillary/sanders situation where DNC basically fixed that primary. -- And then the even bigger problem of trump, who was pretty objectively a better president by nearly every metric... But is now just replaying his greatest hits album and is so hated that he won't be able to get anything done. This debate was "won" by trump in a landslide, but nearly everyone loses. The GOP loses, the Dems lose, the American people lose. All I can say is BOOOOOOOOOO

Bills Coverage Stuff that is Making me Grit my Teeth
Heavy Kevi replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
Get used to it. When your franchise admits to not being a film junkie, they will always question his work ethic. When he's experienced most of his success with a top tier WR, people think it's the wr (it's almost never the wr) Allen and Diggs had some tense moments. On national tv, in primetime, in playoffs, even AFCCG. What are these people who don't follow the bills supposed to think 🤷🏻♂️ In ways they were right. They said the bills will move on from Diggs and Diggs isn't happy. We said "they don't know what they are talking about. He literally just said in a presser he wants to retire a Bill". Then we all scream "clickbait" as if it illegitamizes the story, but sometimes even the idiots turn out to be correct. Overall, BFD. What they say NEVER matters. We will all find out soon what Josh is without Diggs. Personally I see a major down year for the team and I'm still hoping for a new HC before Josh is 40, but I'd be damned if I'm going to be affected by someone's random opinion who I don't even know. Especially if it is literally their job to talk about it. They gotta say something, right? It's just like the political 24 hour news cycle. Gotta fill the air. Stay off the social interwebs and click the TV over to game show network or something. You'll notice all the tension just wash away. I've followed the team this off-season less than I ever have and it's been great. I got a text from a friend of mine (who used to be a Buffalo Jill coincidentally) about the Bills trading Stef and it's the only reason I even came back on here a few days ago. See y'all again at the draft! -
100% Trade the whole draft if it takes that to move up to where they need to be. Or throw in players too. Anyone not named Josh or Dalton. Burn the team down (and coaches) after this year, and go into a fresh HC with Josh, Kincaid, MHjr, draft picks, and maybe even a few open cap bucks to bring in players that fit the new HCs vision.
-
Which direction are we stepping then? Certainly not stepping forward with McD still at the helm. This is a cap correction year while we wait for real leadership from a new HC. How much longer do we waste josh with this regime? And now Harbaugh is in LA so they will be in a SB or 2 in the coming years. The chargers getting better is just another obstacle. Plus the obstacle of Cincy which we apparently just can't play well against has their QB back. This is the "box step" at best.
-
"We" in this case is common used colloquially in pro sports by fans of the team to denote fan association. And don't count me out. You never know, maybe I'll get into fracking next and buy the team. ***** maybe I'll even hire myself as GM to make sure I cover all the bases of "we" eligibility.

No Matter your feelings Bass doesn't deserve the abuse
Heavy Kevi replied to rajinka's topic in The Stadium Wall
People are making threats against him? That's wildly inappropriate. But to criticize his performance, call him a bad player, even "trash" or something similar is fine. He's an pro athlete in the public circle. He would get all the praise and hero treatment if he was amazing, so the opposite has to be true if he sucks. It was a terrible year for him and he looked more than shaky, but he was great before that. Kickers are a weird breed and theres a chance he bounces back if we give him an opportunity to. -
Yowza Not a good look for Gabe engaging negatively with fans He's good as gone. And that's ok with me
-
This Damar was pacing around back there. It was so obvious

Yeah it's more than just this game or this year. If it was isolated we wouldn't be having this conversation.
