  1. Aaron Maybin immediately belongs on the list because he was a high draft pick and basically even every fan knew what the right pick was, but Bills still drafted the bust instead for one reason or another🤷🏻‍♂️. Orakpo was such an obviously better player/pick A couple other all time obvious-even-to-casual-fans drafting blunders: -James Hardy over Desean Jackson -Cody Ford over DK Metcalf -Torrell Troupe over Rob Gronkowski
  2. I think the biggest change is he needs to stop leaving a glaring must-draft position group. Then every team knows what we are drafting and we end up drafting the scraps. This is how we ended up with Elam, Coleman, Rousseau, and Epenssa. Maybe actually make it possible to draft the best player vs panicking and drafting Elam because KC took McDuffie, and then being forced to start Elam because there is nobody else. Sure, he got lucky on Benford that year, but that's the only reason CB isn't a total wasteland. Imo beane has been much better with trades so far and so I would have no qualms about trading for a known quantity.
  3. 100% I was just saying this the other day. But I'm torn. Kincaid would be the more obvious candidate for contract reasons and Knox being a better blocker (and were clearly prioritizing running the ball). I'd kinda hate this tho because I still feel Kincaid has elite upside and could become a star in the right situation. So we'd have to get a player in the trade that was in a similar situation or a high pick... And that feels unlikely. Knox, though; could be traded to a lower tier team with cap space and a need for blocking and catching. I would prefer this, but don't know how likely it is. Other than TE... Maybe a DL player but again that's where we need the most help. Could we trade a player for a DC?🤔 Cuz I don't see a huge change this coming year if we stay with this soft zone defense that quickly became antiquated this last year with NFLs adjustment to more running and ball control offenses.
  4. Totally. You are right on about it in this post. But we know for sure that McD can't, so we should probably try something else, no? Otherwise we are just wasting away with no hope. There have been quite a few good options over the last couple years too, we just didn't get in on the conversation. Let's even pretend that there aren't great coaches in the making that us fans don't know about... And we can at least say we could have tried Ben Johnson, Jim Harbaugh, Vrabel, etc. We could have our pick of anyone because we have Josh Allen and the chiefs job ain't coming up anytime soon. There is no guarantee that anyone would be better. That is 100% true. But it's closer to a guarantee that McDermott can't get it done. I refuse to believe the devil you know is better than the devil you don't and live in fear of a worse coach when we know we can't get to the promised land with our current leadership.
  5. I think they can/should create a helmet that has a secondary layer built in, so they don't look so stupid and players want to wear them. Like it or not they look goofy and (some) players care about that. Either way, the amount of friendly fire injuries this year was jarring. And Benford probably shouldn't have played.
  6. I'm convinced the best move is to promote Brady to HC. Then you keep offense intact and he can bring in a new defensive staff. It's a way to keep the magic of the McDermott locker room (and not lose all the momentum/culture) for a year or two and see if Brady can take the next step with it. If not, then you can blow the whole thing up and hire whoever you want. With Josh Allen here, you just have to fire the coach in-season and you'll be the #1 destination for anyone they fancy. But I'm also convinced it won't be happening. McD has his excuse for this year (no talent except Josh) so he gets a pass. As a matter of fact it might actually strengthen his case with ownership "we were a few plays away from the SB with just Josh".
  7. I think if Josh "choked", Brady did as well. Playcalling in the first half was bad and it's clear they should have had a few wrinkles for the tush push formation. They tried it 657 times tonight and it failed 656 times. And the one time it worked Josh fumbled and luckily managed to fall on it🤷🏻‍♂️ The over reliance on that play was even crazier given that after the first stop, it was obvious the chiefs spent A LOT of time in practice on stopping that exact play. I do recognize that at least one time (maybe twice), they did get it and the refs called it wrong. But I'm not going to complain about the refs when we knew going into the game we were playing chiefs and zebras. Everyone knew it and it was up to the bills to overcome it.
  8. Fair point. Counterpoint: it's proven McD can't do it, so maybe give somebody else a shot?
  9. Welp there we go again. See y'all at the draft. But at least McD got his excuse again... No talent except Josh. McD gets a pass
  10. Yeah and it was a canary in the coal mine. But the Canary did not come back.
  11. Interesting. I haven't thought that about flying but it makes sense I've been expecting him not to play but not for any particular reason, just a feeling.
  12. We sure are. How in tf did that happen!?
  13. Yes for sure. Josh's first afccg I was very nervous... Pacing the day away, etc. This time not so much. Not because I think we will win, but acceptance has crept in. Whatever happens happens. We should win, but last night I had the realization: bills were always going to arrowhead for this game. Since last year it was destined. After our win earlier this year, everyone just said "can't wait to see this game again in the playoffs". No surprise this team loves Mr Brightside, "destiny is calling me". And... Newsflash- this won't be the last time we go to arrowhead in January. This is Peyton Manning vs Brady only better. Non football fans know how big this game is. And now I'm going to fire up the big green egg and smoke this "new" cut my butcher sampled me, namely a "pork brisket" or so they call it, basically the dark meat under the fat cap filleted out and cleaned up. And since I'm the "brisket guy" he said he wants my opinion. I'll happily oblige!
  14. I think the playbook will open up this week and we'll see some dice rolling. The formula is there from lions and chiefs earlier this year... Take a lead to halftime and then score every time you touch the ball in the second half. As much as they were preparing for the ravens matchup, this chiefs game is the one they have been waiting for and I think they pull out all the stops. Don't know if it's enough but it certainly could be
  15. Gosh I effing hope so. BIG SB party at hog free food if they make it... "Parade" (block party) down Linden if they pull it off! Sound check......... Can you play shout + mr. Brightside? Lol
  16. To get to and win the dance? No opinion from me on this one, just a temperature check of the board. Is this the year we get the trophy?
  17. I think the "second play" on the kill call were pretty bad all day. When Josh said "we're good" the plays worked, but I think a lot of the time, BOTH plays were bad so Josh didn't have great options to check into. Plus a couple blown plays where Josh called his own number but were not positive plays. I didn't like the offensive calls much all day. It felt kind of like Greg roman for a minute, with over commitment to the run (esp on 1st down and it felt like it never worked), up until the last drive or 2. We have run well all year, but when it's not working it's not working. Baltimore was intentionally stopping the run and screens in the second half
  18. Agree on all. McD and Babich is an interesting case. It felt like the second half of the game was coached like there was only 2 mins left and they were holding on for dear life... But at the end of the day you had to have stopped the run (or at least tried) and that's what they did It was ugly but a W against a bully of a team like B-more is really all that matters. I've complained plenty about coaching but yesterday's game just isn't the place and time. Hope everybody remembers this was the team we didn't match up well against. The team that beat us up and took our lunch money earlier this year. If you kick the bully in the nuts to get away with a W, it still counts. That all said, Philly is not entirely unlike the Ravens and I would prefer to play the rookie in SB if we get there. And we match up way better with the chiefs. Let's remember this.... As much as we didn't want to play the ravens, we are that team for the chiefs. Chiefs fans were ravens fans yesterday.
  19. I hate this line. Should at least be chiefs -2.5 It's more like 2.5 points for home field advantage these days, but yeah.
