This is such a horrible take. LT was one of the top 5 football players of all time. Once in a generation talent. He doesn't have to be a lunch pail type. Jesus. And Hoestetler was average at best.

Those of you thinking this trade was about tit for tat - about receiving something of equal value for Dareus, are thinking about it all wrong. It's about getting rid a of a gigantic, albatross of a contact off the books a lot sooner. Dareus is getting paid an absurd amount to be an unreliable, part-time player. Can he still be effective? Sure, why not? But I'd rather ship that contract off to Jax and free up the money we're going to need for the long run. This team is doing all of the right things. It's incredibly disciplined and they are obviously thinking about the long-term. To be so short-sighted and complain about the 6th round pick we got in return is just ignorant.

I'm shocked they could get anyone to take on his contract. there was a good chance of us just cutting him in the off-season - and then getting nothing for him. They tried to move him before this season - no one was biting. I love this...out with the old and dysfunctional, in with the process. Marcel hasn't done a damn thing in three years.

LOL you guys are amazing. What does it matter where they were drafted? They weren't producing. This is a fantastic trade and I love the fact we could potentially get a 5th rounder for it. The help to the cap is a huge bonus, too. I'm amazed how so many in this thread have no clue how the business of football works.
