You mean a top QB prospect threw well against air while wearing shorts? Color me shocked.

Josh Allen gets over 90 despite being unable to complete passes, a stat that nobody has ever improved in the NFL vs college (with a reasonable sample size) to my knowledge. Code: QB career completion % NCAA NFL J. McCown 51.2 60.4 Stafford 57.1 62.0 T. Taylor 57.2 62.4 Cutler 57.2 62.0 [Air Raid NCAA offense] G. Smith 67.4 57.9 Keenum 69.4 61.9 Weeden 69.5 57.9 Overall college completion % is pretty disingenuous especially since three of those players had significant freshman-year experience. Stafford and Taylor significantly improved over the course of their college careers. Cutler's numbers are depressed by a 48.6% completion rate as a freshman, and he was carrying the worst team in the SEC McCown just isn't good. What's Josh Allen's excuse for having a top-10 defense in a soft conference and still leading one of the worst passing offenses in FBS and not improving at all from 2016 to 2017 *************** Josh Allen is a massive bust and the Bills need to stay far, far away from him.

LOL at getting upset of a 35 year old OL retiring. Big deal. Price and Ragnow were probably in the plans already. This changes nothing. -
Jets likely to release Hackenberg and Petty
Domdab99 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We should pick up both of them. Just in case. -
Don’t bet the farm on at the QB roulette table

I wish I had thought of this. -
don't we all

i'm getting kind of tired of this stuff. Whoever they pick, WILL be their "guy." Duh. Or else, why trade up to pick him? If they don't trade up, they will most likely pick BPA at 12. I hate the idea of Mayfield on the Jets. I want him. He's going to be a real, long-term QB solution for whichever team takes him.
-
Rosen_Mayfield-Jackson: I’d be fine with any of these three, and don’t really mind paying through the nose for them, either. But it’s likely we could get Jackson or even Mayfield without having to move up into the top 5....so I’m leaning towards them. Darnold: sure, why not? Don’t want to give up two or more firsts for him, tho. Rudolph: I don’t mind taking a flyer on him in the 2nd round, although the Bills would likely have to pick him at 22. Which I’m not thrilled with. Allen: if he somehow slips past the 2nd round, sure, grab him. But to select this obvious bust in the first round, or, god forbid, to actually trade up for the Privilege of drafting him would be a disaster for this organization. It would set us back at least 5 years.

Moving up to #2 = No Playoffs for the next three years

Such a horrible take. This is not an either/or situation. Either trade up or don't. I have no problem with trading up to get our guy, UNLESS it's for a king's ransom. That's my point. It's not worth it. Not when a Lamar Jackson or Rudolph or someone else will be there for us. I guess if the FO thinks, say, Rosen is the 2nd coming of Peyton Manning, then, ok, I can see trading up for him by giving away the farm. But if Rosen is that good, why are the Giants not taking him? Remember, for a trade to happen, the Giants or the Browns or the Colts need to believe that trading DOWN is better than taking that potential franchise QB everyone on here is so willing to mortgage the future for. It's a sliding scale, not a yes/no thing. There should be a limit for which you are willing to trade up for. What is it? If there's not, you have no business discussing this. -
What are your bold predictions for the NFL draft?

wrong wrong (at least 5 QBs in first) wrong wrong maybe -
7 round mock Bills draft - best I have seen!
Domdab99 replied to mileena's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
top 5 picks are all reaches except for maybe Ridley -
I like it
-
I don’t want to draft Rudolph...I was just experimenting with various scenarios. I’d rather draft a Lauletta later. I was just doing what I think the Bills would do if they did trade down.
-
Hard to get one when they've either all been picked in the top 5 and/or the top 5 teams refuse to trade down with the Bills.
-
I can see that...but if you don't pick Rudolph here, you're going to be choosing Lauletta or Falk in a lower round. So it depends on what you're willing to do at QB.
-
Because Rudolph is not a first round QB...choosing him at 12 would be horrible. This is a "worst-case" scenario. I realize that if Rosen, Mayfield, Darnold, and Jackson are all chosen in the top 10, that the Bills (and other teams) will likely panic and trade up to get either Rudolph or Allen. Now, if it's Allen that's picked in the top 10, and Jackson falls to us at 12, I think picking him would be fine, if still a bit of a stretch.
-
So I've been doing a lot of mocks because I'm a loser with no life, and I've found what I think is an interesting opportunity should the first few picks of the draft decidedly DO NOT go the Bills' way. The mocks I do allow trades, and I've found that when the worst happens and the Bills cannot trade-up into the top 6 - AND Rosen, Darnold, Mayfield, and Jackson are all picked in the first 6 or 7 picks, TRADING DOWN in the first round give us a QB AND some interesting picks. For example: Bills Picks Picks: 1:22 1:23 2:11 2:21 2:23 3:1 3:32 4:21 5:29 6:13 Pick Player Pos College 1:22 Mason Rudolph QB Oklahoma St. 1:23 Calvin Ridley WR Alabama 2:11 Leighton Vander Esch LB Boise St. 2:21 Sam Hubbard EDGE Ohio St. 2:23 Tim Settle NT Virginia Tech 3:1 D.J. Moore WR Maryland 3:32 Mason Cole C Michigan 4:21 Deon Cain WR Clemson 5:29 Tony Brown CB Alabama 6:13 Davin Bellamy EDGE GeorgiaTrades trades: Acquired via (NE): 1:23, 2:11 Traded away: 1:12 ************* Now, I'm not saying this is the best draft, and I doubt we would ever make a trade with the Patriots, but this is just one draft that allows the Bills to still get a QB this draft while filling other roster spots. You can see that we traded 12 to the Pats for their first and #43. Not bad. We still pick the last remaining "top 6" QB, as well as getting some really great help in other spots. Here's another example: Pick Player Pos College 1:22 Mason Rudolph QB Oklahoma St. 1:25 Da'Ron Payne DT Alabama 2:21 Sam Hubbard EDGE Ohio St. 2:23 James Washington WR Oklahoma St. 2:25 D.J. Moore WR Maryland 3:1 Malik Jefferson LB Texas 3:25 Brian O'Neill OT Pitt 3:32 Fred Warner LB Brigham Young 4:21 Deon Cain WR Clemson 5:29 Kameron Kelly CB San Diego St. 6:13 Brian Allen G Michigan St. Acquired Via Traded Away 1:25, 2:25, 3:25 TEN 1:12 We traded down with TENN for what you see above. Anyway....if our wanted QBs are all gone - and we aren't going to reach for an Allen or Rudolph at 12, it wouldn't be horrible totrade down 12 and pick up more picks.
-
here's an odd draft I just did lol Pick Player Pos College 1:6 Saquon Barkley RB Penn St. 1:22 Da'Ron Payne DT Alabama 2:21 D.J. Moore WR Maryland 3:1 James Washington WR Oklahoma St. 3:32 Mike Gesicki TE Penn St. 5:29 Riley Ferguson QB Memphis I kinda like it!
-
yeah, Chark in the first is way too high
-
This is a good point. I don't mind picking whichever QB at 12....even Allen or Rudolph...because it's just one pick and either may surprise. But trading up to #2 is going to be incredibly costly. Like 12, 22, one second, one third, and next year's first! That's insane. Especially when who we're picking isn't a lock like an Andrew Luck. You're giving up 5 or 6 high picks for one guy - if he's not AT LEAST Kurt Cousins or Philip Rivers, he is a massive bust. If Mayfield gets by the top 5, I can see moving up for him. It'd be a lot less costly. Or, just sit at 12 and take Jackson or grab Rudolph in the 2nd or even 3rd.
