I can see your argument if Allen missed that throw by a mile, but Clay was in the area code to make the catch.

If you wanna defend Clay, that’s fine.

It’s over and let’s move on to the Jets.

Allen has a chance to further his development, which sets up for an exciting off season and a lead up to the start of 2019.

I'm not a Clay fan, but that kind of throw is about as difficult to gauge as any on the field. It's easier for a receiver to gauge a ball as he's running at an angle from the throw, and/or running in the same direction as the throw or perpendicular to it.

Coming straight back to a fluttering ball from a QB with a howitzer for an arm, well, it's really not at all surprising that Clay misplayed it some.

Should he have caught it? Probably. But I understand why he didn't.

It's not even that part that annoyed me. It was Clay standing in the corner of the end zone while your QB has scrambled to the opposite side of the field. If it was the last play of the game, fine, but there was time and he didn't need to force Allen into that tough of a throw.

This is why I want to see the all-22. Was he just standing at the back of the end zone? With the amount of time Allen was scrambling, it seems like Clay should have had time to already come back to at least the goal line when the throw was made.

lol now this I can see getting upset over...know idea what Clay was doing. Maybe he was lost.

The difference being Mahomes has run 51 times in 12 games this year, which is 4.25 runs per game, while Allen has 57 rushes in 9 appearance that really amount to about eight total games as he played a bit less than a half in game one and a bit more than a half against Houston before the injury. That averages out to 7.1 runs per game.

That's why nobody complains that Mahomes needs to run less but they do say it about Allen.

Outside of this week's game where he had 9, Mahomes has had one game of 6 and nothing else more than 5. While Allen has had games of 9 and 13 rushes (the last two games) and another earlier game of 10 and another yet of 8.

He's tough and capable. I love it, but it's not great long-term strategy. We need to get a line in front of him, five capable guys, and he needs to work more on understanding defenses and getting it out quick.

    you people are so clueless

So, in a winnable game what hurts most is knowing we are eliminated and not getting any better.  It’s trash to say next season will get better when a year removed from playoffs we completely dropped off the map.  Getting blown out by the Ravens and Chargers proves what good Coaching can do.  In my mind “the process” is snake oil at this point and time.  Adopting (kaizen) and who remembers the cultural shock involving Beam and Japanese ownership or who they tried to storehouse over orders and the fire which broke out?  So, that kind of micromanagement is basically hari-Kari according to Bushido.  As little cap room as we had; signing Murphy who resides on the IR over offense didn’t help at all.  With a $7.5 Million dollar cap hit adding onto it.  Had to check that out when someone told me he was on the cheap.  Anyone else want to defend the gas bags known as McDermott and Beane or do we get some McBeano for gas relief?

lol since I'm not allowed to call you an idiot, I will instead say, that this is probably the worst post I have ever seen on this laughable site. It makes the Jenner family look smart. It makes prune juice look like the best juice ever. It makes Dick Jauron look like a good coach.

You are NOT an idiot, Sir. That would be awful to say.  A crime which would be inconceivable.

However, I will venture to suggest that sometimes, only in the rarest of moments, maybe, just maybe...idiotic things escape from your fingertips as they type.

But it's not you, so I wouldn't worry.

I just can't figure out for the life of me why Allen didn't throw to wide a open McKenzie that was right in front of Zay on the pass that went to Zay on that 3rd and 11. He definitely would have got the first down. That made no sense to me. Looking that way you can clearly see McKenzie right in front of him

    1. I rewatched that play - it did not look like McK would've gotten the first down.

    2. Allen made an amazing throw to Zay that he couldn't come down with:
