Raiders looking to move to Las Vegas?
Domdab99 replied to mellaman101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm a professor at UNLV, and I can tell you guys that this is the hope...both our football team and basketball team can't quite compete at the highest level yet because of the 2nd-rate facilities. I'm conflicted about the stadium because of the huge amount of money that otherwise could've gone to education, alternative energy programs, etc., but man, I'm excited about having the NFL in my town. -
Raiders Still Hoping for Fan Support(Bills Related)

If the Bills moved, it's obvious the name would change, too. Like the Browns moving to Baltimore. "Bills" doesn't work anywhere else. -

Phoenix is hotter than Vegas and doesn't have any of the fun. Sure, I like golfing in Scottsdale...but that's not Phoenix. -

This. I've lived in Vegas for 13 years. Love it. For example, I just got home from playing poker and tomorrow, I'm playing golf. -
Good topic! I grew up in North New Jersey, about 40 minute from NYC. When I was about 7 or 8, my parents got me a football helmet for Christmas - it was a Buffalo Bills helmet. I knew nothing about football, or even that the Giants and Jets were my local team, but I loved that helmet. A year or two later, my parents got me a subscription to Football Digest - an old-time monthly that was awesome. The first cover I saw was of OJ and the offensive line....and the headline was something like: "Meet the Electric Company - the power that turns on the Juice." And I was hooked. In the 90s, I was living in L.A., and made the trek to a local Bill's Backers bar near Pomona every Saturday to watch the games. It was awesome, Now I live in Vegas...and always subscribe to the DirecTV NFL package so I won't miss a game. My favorite Bills' players will always be Joe Ferguson, Jerry Butler, and Lou Piccone.

My thoughts are that if you did a little more reading, you'd be able to write a coherent sentence and understand the difference between "to" and too."

Any way you slice it Kaepernick represents good value

Just came here to post this. The over-reaction to him not standing in protest to an actual problem in this country is ridiculous. You don't agree, fine. But to demonize the kid is just pathetic. And if you don't believe that it's an actual problem, watch the Oscar-nominated doc 13th. It's amazing.) -
While I always want to beat the Patriots and Dolphins, I have also always kinda liked those teams in some way. Also like the Jags and the Falcons. I DESPISE the Jets. Hate them with every ounce of my being and want to take a flamethrower to any Jets backers bar I come across to stop their stupid NJ/NY accents and their J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS chant. Other than that, I'm sure they're lovely people.

Give me a break. How is he symbolically destroying the American flag and all it stands for?? -

This is what I don't understand...what disrespect?? How can you show disrespect for a piece of cloth? And out country is great for the simple fact that he can protest against the things he finds wrong with it. You don't have to like it, but to call it "unforgivable" is both hyperbolic and a tad precious. True -

I get it...I understand what you're getting at...but why does Kaep - or anyone attending the game - have to do what some anonymous voice on the loud speaker says? Why do we do this "stand and honor America" thing before EVERY SINGLE baseball, football, hockey, basketball, and tiddly winks game in the country? It's a silly and unnecessary blow job to false patriotism. That said, I still stand up and sing and place my hand over my heart. Because I like to. But if someone doesn't, what do I care? How does that affect me? Disrespect takes two - the person doing the supposed dissrespecting and the person choosing to feel disrespected. If you response to the person doing the disrespecting is to just laugh it off, shrug, or ignore it, then there is no real dissrespect happening...the alt-right constantly talks about "snowflakes" like the Left is crying over everything, yet it always seems to be the Right who is crying over things like this. Sticks and stones, you know? What do you care what other people think about you? Or how other people choose to express themselves? Grow a pair and realize we all have the right of free expression and that sometimes other people are not going to agree with you. Or you them. that's called adult-hood. (This above above is a general statement and not solely aimed at Boatdrinks) -
Love TT and really think he get to the next level as a QB with an actual starting-level receiver corp.

Saying he disrespected the flag or the military by not standing is asinine and simple-minded. It's the same kind of people who get their kickers in a knot over flag-burning. There's no such thing as "the American Flag." If I go to Walmart and purchase my very own American flag, I can do whatever the hell I want to with it. It's mine. I own it. Idiots in Congress who want to make an Amendment to the Constitution banning flag burning is really just a massive, ironic joke on what that flag is supposed to mean. As a member of the military, I say that's why I served, dammit - to protect everyone's right to protest and free speech, in any manner they wish - as long as it doesn't infringe on another's rights or safety. And if you're offended by it - so what? Be offended! What does that even mean, anyway? People say "I'm offended by that" like it's supposed to stop the offensive behavior or language. Be offended! That's your right! And it's my right to be offensive...and I'll take any economic or societal consequences that comes with it. Just don't think that being offended by something give you some kind of right to not have to see or hear whatever it is that's offending your delicate sensibilities. ***** All that being said...I've change my mind on Kaepernick as a back-up - the football posts in this thread convinced me. We can do better. Actually wouldn't mind Fitz as a back-up! He's a hip-hop artist. Or an attorney. Take your pick. -

because Kaepernick wasn't saying anything hateful or racist? No need to separate anything, I will now just put you on ignore, because anyone who sincerely believes what you posted above can easily be dismissed as naive at best, and completely ignorant, at worst. -

Lol why so angry, Scooter? Kap is a young man in his 20s, trying to figure things out. Is he right all of the time? Of course not. but he's trying. Go google him right and see what he's doing...raising money for charity and actually doing things for other people in need. But hey, keep shouting "'MURICA!" and "love it or leave it" if it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy. Because God knows standing for the Nationa Anthem at a !@#$ing football game is what makes this country great. -

I'm 53, served in the Air Force, and I believe in our civil liberties and hold the Bill of Rights sacred. Bet you voted for Trump, didn't you? (See, I can make gross generalizations, too.) -
Bills Likely Pick- Wide Receiver at #10 and Beyond

I mean, it'll be hard to pass on Davis or Williams, but if Foster or one of the safeties is there, I think you gotta take them. I mean, it'll be hard to pass on Davis or Williams, but if Foster or one of the safeties is there, I think you gotta take them. -

Then those guys can go take a flying leap, as far as I'm concerned. Kap exercised his free speech and right to protest in a dignified, respectful manner. I'd love to have a guy of his character on the team. -
Bills What If: Brady Didn't End Up With The Patriots

What if I was richer and married a super model? Hey, this fun. Knowing both franchises, without Brady maybe the Bledsoe is the GOAT. -
