  1. I absolutely love this! I have wanted TJ Yates here for a couple of years. Great job Doug
  2. Watson. I'm tired of settling for the 3rd and 4th level QBs in a draft. I'm tired of drafting guys that didn't play at big time schools or didn't do a lot of winning. I want the guy that everybody knows as being a winner. A guy that beat the best teams and the best defenses. A guy that instantly becomes the guy, that a common fan associates with your franchise. A guy that is the first name on a strangers mouth when you tell them you are a bills fan. This guy reminds me a ton of Mariota and fits the offense that we currently play. Enough settling for the other guys, and enough forcing guys that don't belong. Go get the guy that will be our QB for 10 years and finally be a real contender. When was the last time the Bills drafted the most successful and famous college QB and had that guy on their roster going into an NFL season? I would say never.
  3. If we are talking about guys who improved on their previous season WITH the Bills, then probably Miller. As far as most improved on their previous season in general, I would have to think Lorenzo Alexander would probably be the answer by a mile. From a relative nobody to a mid season sack leader and pro bowl MVP. I'd say that's improvement. I would also say Douzable was much improved from his previous level of play in the league. If we are talking most improved from the beginning of the season, il say it was O'leary. The guy ended up looking pretty good at the end of the season after looking like he wouldn't even get a uniform on game day. That's why I can't understand the TE draft talk. This team has had 3 or 4 good tight ends in the last 40 years....Right now we have 2 that are pretty good. We don't need a TE. Certainly not in the 1st round. Go Bills!
  4. He had a relationship with the new D line coach from hard knocks. Reminded me of the way the Cowboys TE coach was always riding Marcellus Bennet back on an older hard knocks...hopefully we end up with a player that's that good.
  5. Seems like we would have probably known by now if it was going to happen
  6. Is he still on the visit or did he leave with nothing?
  7. or just keep 4 guys...we are a team that had a guy that just kicked off in a league where it's 85% touchbacks. If you like a guy draft him anyway. With or without Yates
  8. i don't understand the logic in this. Wouldn't it be more important for a team with less certainty at QB?
  9. yates has won more playoff games then the Bills have in the last 20 years
  10. im not judging the guy. I actually would have probably been okay with him being in the running for starting this year. All I was saying was there seemed to be a tone from Sal that maybe the Bills don't think he's ready to be the backup. Not saying it's right, not saying it's wrong.
  11. i remember hearing Sal on wgr say that he was going back and fourth to Ohio during the season a lot and maybe not putting in the work that a serious QB puts in. I don't have a link because it was on the radio. It made me think maybe the new staff wasn't as excited about him as a prospect after hearing some of that stuff. I'm not in the building so I obviously can't say that I know what the guys like for sure. But my guess is if we draft a QB this year, McDermott must not like jones. I guess we will see.
  12. i agree with that but it sounded like there was issues with Jones not taking things seriously last year. If that's the case I can see McDermott not putting up with it. It's not like he was a 1st or 2nd round pick.
  13. they probably want a backup that is ready to play incase Tyrod goes down. Maybe they don't like Jones and will draft a QB to make the 3, sign a vet backup and let jones go. Jones doesn't seem to be the type of guy that McDermott has the patients for
  14. I had made more then 1 thread on the BBMB about TJ Yates. The guy has started and won a playoff game and seems to be an almost perfect backup QB. I am a huge fan of the idea of TJ Yates and would absolutely love it if he was the guy. TJ Yates is one of the most underrated QBs in the league. An excellent backup and fringe bottom of the league starter IMO. Do it And won
  15. He pretty much won us the game in LA last year. Have fun NRC. If you were 5 inchs taller you would be an All pro
  16. He certainly seems like a player that would get a long with McDermott and wouodnt he have been in Baltimore with Tyrod? Maybe they missed by a year, not sure off the top of my head. But yeah, I would be all for it. I wanted him last year.
  17. I like this. Make it happen
  18. I love the red helmets, but I also love our current uniforms. I think it's absolutely crazy that the nfl doesn't let teams wear more then 1 helmet color as some sort of anti concussion protocol? As if it would be impossible to get 2 helmets approved for safety? Also going against common sense where you would assume wearing the same helmet that gets beat in every sunday, would be less effective and safe then getting a brand new helmet each week...or at least that's how I would feel. If the nfl was smart they would let teams wear 2 helmets. Their usual one and then a totally different one for color rush. Then take all the helmets after the color rush, sign them all and raffle them off. Then take all that money and donate it to players family's with CTE and concussion research. Turn the color rush money grab, into something very positive. The league could use the good PR in an era of people just being !@#$s about anything that is successful. In that case I would ask for us to wear the 1999/2000 ish version of our away jerseys with red helmets as our color rush. But not red with the current. It wouldn't fit.
  19. There are still some guys that can play. I hope we sign a vet QB to backup Tyrod, even if it means keeping 4 QBs. I am thinking that if we draft a QB early enough in this draft to be considered a backup for 2017, then we must not like Jones that much. Therefore I can see us drafting a kid and still signing a vet. It seems like some teams maybe waiting until after the draft to ink a vet back up. If the draft doesn't fall the way teams hope, they will probably go out and add the Fitz, Kapernick, Rg3, cutler and Shaun Hills of the world. With how reckless our starting QB plays at times, I hope we have a capable guy waiting. Our HC comes from a team with a very capable backup QB, that has been called on several times to help out. My guess is he won't be satisfied with Jones and a rookie incase of emergency.
  20. I would be thrilled. The way I see it, WR is our biggest weakness. WR was already a major need for this team last year and we lost 1 of the few good ones we had. The way it looks today We have the worst group of recievers in the NFL. Unless we plan to throw less then 10 passes a game, we are going to need another good one. If we don't teams are just going to double Sammy and make one of these other guys beat them. Nobody else on this roster is capable of scaring anyone IMO
  21. I went to the game and was having a great time. It was close to home, I didn't have to worry about the result ruining my day. Beers, food, Cornhole...it was all good. The only thing I wanted was to see more Jones. EJ Manuel is the worst QB in the NFL and he actually made the game unwatchable. Thank god he's gone
  22. Maybe he sees Davis as a legit 1, take him at 10 and means Sammy is the 2....obviously that's a joke because that would be the last thing the Bills would ever do. They will take an avg #4 and start him. Then wonder why our QB can't crack the top 25 in passing numbers. If we don't take a WR early we will see Sammy doubled every week because no other WR on our roster will scare anyone. Hopefully I'm wrong about that, I just hope this is a smoke screen and we take a WR at 10
  23. If this guy is putting the piano back Preston Brown on the bench, then I like him already.
  24. As soon as the Bills sign a lesser known FA I look to see his rating on Madden. People can rip it all they want but it's of the better player rating systems available to the public. The way I see it we are looking at one of the worst WR groups in recent history. Don't expect to much respect from the game in 18 unless we draft a WR at 10.
