To this point, I would have to say that I am pleasantly surprised with the offseason. If the 3 guys we have drafted already can come in and give us something...we may only have 1 true "hole" left. The WLB is a very important part of the modern defense. Considering that our base set will most likely be a big, versatile nickle. My guess is we won't have Brown and Ragland as the only 2 LBs on the field. Both guys are probably to slow and certainly having both on the field would cause all sorts of coverage issues. Does the current staff view one of these guys as the Will? Or are they going to actually start Humber? My thoughts all along were that we would play Ragland at MLB, Lorenzo at SLB and draft a kid to play WLB. At this stage of the draft, finding a starter would be unexpected. Is is possible that Humber or Preston Brown can be our WLB for opening day? If that's the case, I am a little concerned about backs sliping out of the backfield and shallow drag routes killing us. I have enjoyed the offseason to this point. I just personally wish we made Zach Brown more of a priority and may have had to sacrifice The Lorax to do so. Maybe I would have been a little quicker to take a LB and lived with our OT situation. Maybe I'm missing something more obvious with the position or maybe these coaches hold Preston Browns athleticism in a slightly higher regard then I do?

I don't get how people are saying there are so many good defensive players...but then saying you have to take one at 10? If it's such a deep defensive draft, then you can wait. If you don't take a WR at 10, you are going to end up with the worst WR group in the nfl IMO. I would hope we would have learned our lesson on what that looks like by now. When all you have is Sammy, you either will be completely screwed once he is annually injured. Or teams will just roll coverage on him and nobody else will beat them. I want either Watson or one of the big WRs at 10. I suppose Howard would be the same idea but I would personally prefer to not pick a TE when we have 2 good ones already. Plus he probably won't be there.

I am viewing Tolbert as a RB here. I'm not worried at all about the Gillislee loss...and I was a fan of his. We are fine at RB

I guess I just don't think it matters that much in a zone defense. Maybe il be wrong, I just don't think it is as important as it was in Rex's D. I feel like most decent corners will be okay in this defense.

I'm good with Seymore and Darby. I don't want us to waste an early draft pick on a corner. I think our biggest issue was the man coverage. Start Darby and Seymore. Go out and sign Corey White again and go with the guys we have now. To many other holes to keep drafting CBs. I'm tired of the cycle. If corner is important enough to draft in the first round every other year, then stop letting the good ones walk.

Even without Gillislee we don't need to draft a RB. We have Shady, Williams and Tolbert. How many touches are there to go around? Don't waste a pick, just sign a Udfa incase of injuries or to fill out the preseason and camp

We used two 1st round picks on the 4th best WR in a draft class. From the day he got to buffalo he has been limited by injury. If we don't exercise the 5th year option on this guy and have to deal with another half throttle season...it will be the final nail for Doug. Whaley needs Watkins and Dareus to be who they are billed as for a change. For every low level street FA gem signing that Doug has made, there is a monster mistake with franchise cornerstone. Maybe Whaley should just be a pro personnel scout and leave the draft and money making decisions to someone else.

I want Watson. A guy that has won a lot and beat the best teams. Fits the scheme and will slot fight into what Tyrod does. A guy that can be our mariota and the face of the team for a decade

Sure, I like the (NY) Rangers and Yankees too.... Imo, if you like 2 teams, you like none. That's something I personally feel very strongly about..But to each their own.

This is also a QB that would make sure Watkins gets the ball. Look at how he player with Hopkims. If TJ gets a look, he will play well.

Hes not. If you watch EJ Manuel play and think he's better then any QB in the league, I don't know what you are looking at. The guy can't even repeat his throwing motion twice in a row. The guy doesn't even have the footwork fundamentals that most high school QBs have. EJ Manuel is terrible. He won't be in the league as long at Yates has been and will never win or start a playoff game. Yates may not be flashy and he may not have the name that makes the common fan think of a solid QB...but he's better then EJ. I would say you will see that for yourself eventually, but let's hope our starter just stays healthy.

after 2 years of having the worst QB in the league as our back up and an auto-loss, we now have a solid vet QB that can actually come in and play on this level. A guy that can execute the offense on a professional level that has seen nfl defenses and actually understands the fundamentals of playing the position. A guy that has started and won a playoff game as a QB. A guy that understands what it means to be a professional. Obviously you hope that it never comes down to your backup QB having to play, but at least now if we do need it...it's not an automatic loss.
