  1. We used two 1st round picks on the 4th best WR in a draft class. From the day he got to buffalo he has been limited by injury. If we don't exercise the 5th year option on this guy and have to deal with another half throttle season...it will be the final nail for Doug. Whaley needs Watkins and Dareus to be who they are billed as for a change. For every low level street FA gem signing that Doug has made, there is a monster mistake with franchise cornerstone. Maybe Whaley should just be a pro personnel scout and leave the draft and money making decisions to someone else.
  2. I want Watson. A guy that has won a lot and beat the best teams. Fits the scheme and will slot fight into what Tyrod does. A guy that can be our mariota and the face of the team for a decade
  3. Sure, I like the (NY) Rangers and Yankees too.... Imo, if you like 2 teams, you like none. That's something I personally feel very strongly about..But to each their own.
  4. This is also a QB that would make sure Watkins gets the ball. Look at how he player with Hopkims. If TJ gets a look, he will play well.
  5. Hes not. If you watch EJ Manuel play and think he's better then any QB in the league, I don't know what you are looking at. The guy can't even repeat his throwing motion twice in a row. The guy doesn't even have the footwork fundamentals that most high school QBs have. EJ Manuel is terrible. He won't be in the league as long at Yates has been and will never win or start a playoff game. Yates may not be flashy and he may not have the name that makes the common fan think of a solid QB...but he's better then EJ. I would say you will see that for yourself eventually, but let's hope our starter just stays healthy.
  6. after 2 years of having the worst QB in the league as our back up and an auto-loss, we now have a solid vet QB that can actually come in and play on this level. A guy that can execute the offense on a professional level that has seen nfl defenses and actually understands the fundamentals of playing the position. A guy that has started and won a playoff game as a QB. A guy that understands what it means to be a professional. Obviously you hope that it never comes down to your backup QB having to play, but at least now if we do need it...it's not an automatic loss.
  7. I absolutely love this! I have wanted TJ Yates here for a couple of years. Great job Doug
  8. Watson. I'm tired of settling for the 3rd and 4th level QBs in a draft. I'm tired of drafting guys that didn't play at big time schools or didn't do a lot of winning. I want the guy that everybody knows as being a winner. A guy that beat the best teams and the best defenses. A guy that instantly becomes the guy, that a common fan associates with your franchise. A guy that is the first name on a strangers mouth when you tell them you are a bills fan. This guy reminds me a ton of Mariota and fits the offense that we currently play. Enough settling for the other guys, and enough forcing guys that don't belong. Go get the guy that will be our QB for 10 years and finally be a real contender. When was the last time the Bills drafted the most successful and famous college QB and had that guy on their roster going into an NFL season? I would say never.
  9. If we are talking about guys who improved on their previous season WITH the Bills, then probably Miller. As far as most improved on their previous season in general, I would have to think Lorenzo Alexander would probably be the answer by a mile. From a relative nobody to a mid season sack leader and pro bowl MVP. I'd say that's improvement. I would also say Douzable was much improved from his previous level of play in the league. If we are talking most improved from the beginning of the season, il say it was O'leary. The guy ended up looking pretty good at the end of the season after looking like he wouldn't even get a uniform on game day. That's why I can't understand the TE draft talk. This team has had 3 or 4 good tight ends in the last 40 years....Right now we have 2 that are pretty good. We don't need a TE. Certainly not in the 1st round. Go Bills!
  10. He had a relationship with the new D line coach from hard knocks. Reminded me of the way the Cowboys TE coach was always riding Marcellus Bennet back on an older hard knocks...hopefully we end up with a player that's that good.
  11. Seems like we would have probably known by now if it was going to happen
  12. or just keep 4 guys...we are a team that had a guy that just kicked off in a league where it's 85% touchbacks. If you like a guy draft him anyway. With or without Yates
  13. i don't understand the logic in this. Wouldn't it be more important for a team with less certainty at QB?
  14. yates has won more playoff games then the Bills have in the last 20 years
  15. im not judging the guy. I actually would have probably been okay with him being in the running for starting this year. All I was saying was there seemed to be a tone from Sal that maybe the Bills don't think he's ready to be the backup. Not saying it's right, not saying it's wrong.
  16. i remember hearing Sal on wgr say that he was going back and fourth to Ohio during the season a lot and maybe not putting in the work that a serious QB puts in. I don't have a link because it was on the radio. It made me think maybe the new staff wasn't as excited about him as a prospect after hearing some of that stuff. I'm not in the building so I obviously can't say that I know what the guys like for sure. But my guess is if we draft a QB this year, McDermott must not like jones. I guess we will see.
  17. i agree with that but it sounded like there was issues with Jones not taking things seriously last year. If that's the case I can see McDermott not putting up with it. It's not like he was a 1st or 2nd round pick.
  18. they probably want a backup that is ready to play incase Tyrod goes down. Maybe they don't like Jones and will draft a QB to make the 3, sign a vet backup and let jones go. Jones doesn't seem to be the type of guy that McDermott has the patients for
  19. I had made more then 1 thread on the BBMB about TJ Yates. The guy has started and won a playoff game and seems to be an almost perfect backup QB. I am a huge fan of the idea of TJ Yates and would absolutely love it if he was the guy. TJ Yates is one of the most underrated QBs in the league. An excellent backup and fringe bottom of the league starter IMO. Do it And won
  20. He pretty much won us the game in LA last year. Have fun NRC. If you were 5 inchs taller you would be an All pro
  21. He certainly seems like a player that would get a long with McDermott and wouodnt he have been in Baltimore with Tyrod? Maybe they missed by a year, not sure off the top of my head. But yeah, I would be all for it. I wanted him last year.
