Peterman reminds me a little of Alex Smith. I really think if Dabol does this thing right, Peterman might be pretty good. I really don’t think it’s a downgrade from Tyrod. I think KB will be the happiest player in the locker room. I hope on the first drive against Baltimore we try a 40 yard shot down field, just to show them we will push it with Nate. I’m very happy for the kid.

Getting the ball out quickly is 90% of this. Peterman is capable of executing this modern day, quick read and deliver, Brady style passing game. That’s why he looked good in mop up duty last year. That’s why they benched Tyrod last year, that’s why Peterman is the starter now. The issue is, that also led to some of the picks. Hopefully he learns from the mistakes and doesn’t end up having guys jump routes and rip balls up to the Defense.

The Punter Situation/New Punter

I feel better about it now that Schmidt is gone. He was terrible all preseason and never really good to begin with. Now that he’s gone, I feel good about it. -
The guy would have been a 4th round pick but inexplicably was thrust into round 1 by an out of touch dinosaur. Everyone acts like they feel bad for him. He’s one of the worst QBs I have ever seen and never made any progress from week 1 of his rookie year. The Guy was just handed money and jobs year after year because one guy overdrafted him. He is one of the luckiest guys in NFL history.

On the BBMB I was in all out war over EJ almost daily. He was a top 3 Bills bust of all time and the worst QB in the NFL. Not worst starting QB, worst QB...counting all of the backups. The guy had the footwork of a 4th grader. People kept saying how “big” his arm was, I never once saw him throw a ball hard. Accuracy of Ray Charles and footwork of a grade schooler. I was the biggest Thad Lewis supporter that ever lived on the old messageboard. People thought I was crazy because of that. Everyone overlooked the fact that it had nothing to do with Lewis. I just never wanted EJ to hurt my team again. It was anybody but EJ halfway through year 1. You don’t need to see a ton to figure out a guy doesn’t have “it” Week 3 against the Jets was when I got real nervous..After the @TB and @Pit disasters, it was over.

What I am taking from our roster cuts

Shady is pretty much this entire team. He is the one legitimate blue chip superstar skill position player we have had in the post super bowl era. I’m not sure how anyone can watch this team every week and not just be amazed at this guy. Until he is gone, everything we do on offense is going to be run through him. Nothing about this preseason should even matter to anyone. Now we have a few guys behind him that can play a little bit too. I hope we fix the oline over the next few days and just overwhelm people with our RBs. Hand it to them, pitch it to them, throw screens to them...We have very little talent on offense. We have a guy that is a hall of fame level player in the backend of his prime...This should be like the OJ teams IMO. I don’t care about the optics and how unorthodox it is in this era, just win. -
Talbot: 15 Players The Bills Could Pursue

I would take Cooper a Deonte back. Also Shane Lechler although not on that list. -
"Big Name" cuts around the league...

A few decent WRs out there. Wright, Thompson and Kamar Aiken. Nothing special but compared to what we have, not terrible. -
I would have kept O’Leary and Ryan and cut Schmidt but oh well. No real loss anywhere I guess. A lot of really bad players on the 90. I don’t see why they bothered to keep T. Jones. Ray Ray and Murphy are probably better return men and we have plenty of RBs. Not a big deal. Surprised that we kept so many WRs.

My whole point was the Bills weren’t going to trade the picks for Mack because they were afraid to give them up. And I feel like most of the time we just waste them anyway and I think they should be more willing to trade them for proven talent.
