People have been raving about Foster and Wallace all off season. I was kind of looking forward to seeing them for myself.... They might have been the two worst players on the field Thursday.

That punter was good. Not that people really get to hung up on that. I have never really liked Schmidt and feel like he leaves a lot of extra field position on the table. I want to see more of the other guy, but at the same time don’t want us to be punting more...

The corner play behind the starters was not good. We have very little depth behind the starting secondary. The starters in the back end of our defense might be the strongest group of the entire team. The guys behind them, remind me of the Rex days.

There is no reason to trade either. Keeping 2 QBs that can execute an NFL offense, will give us 2 more then we usually have. Let those guys keep pushing each other to be better and this might be a fun year. I like what Dabol showed us tonight. Very impressed with 2 and 10.

Allen is a lot further away from the other 2 QBs then I expected. I was very impressed with Peterman and Mccarron. Allen looked like a green rookie with a lot of raw ability and very little polish. Every day at camp, people are acting like Allen is right there...he’s not. And that’s okay. I can’t see Allen playing all season. Keep the competition going with AJ and Peterman.

Murphy was good against Miami in what ended up being one of the biggest games in 2 decades. I have expected him to make the team all along. He is good.

All I could go off of (until tonight) were practice reports. After watching the game tonight, Allen is not close to the other 2. Redshirt Allen and keep the battle going with Peterman and AJ. They both were very impressive.

Our defense is going to be very without Mack. I actually think we might be one of the top 3 defenses in all of football this year. Even with that, I feel we are going to have a real hard time. We don’t have anywhere near enough fire power on offense and we probably won’t be able to score points. If the Bills are willing to give up a first, can it please be for a WR that can help us score points? We are going to stop people already. Mack is an excellent player but we don’t need him. We need players that can help the offense.

I really like our Dline depth. I hope we don’t get rid of Lawson and Washington. Those guys as rotational backups, is very solid.

The first 2 games are very winnable and the packers defense is always terrible. I’m not saying they aren’t tough at home, but it’s because of Rogers. This is big boy Football. These are grown men. I’m not going to not play a guy because of who we are playing...If Allen is the best guy we have, play him. There is no reason not to. The only way to learn, is to play. Let’s see how the preseason goes here but if things stay the way they are now. I say start Allen week 1.

With each passing day it seems like there is no reason to make Allen wait. If he’s pretty much as good as the other two guys now, let’s get the learning curve out of the way. Our defense is going to be good and Shady is still great. Might not a better time to ease him in. Just go for it.

If the 2 vets keep underwhelming and Allen is close to them already...I say screw it and just start Allen right away. Unless one of those other guys clearly gives us a much better chance to win, might as well have fun and play the kid.

The whole time I have pretty much felt like AJ will start. I also think he will do well. I have always said then Bengals are dumb for not playing AJ. The only playoff game they should have won, was the one Mccarron started. I think from then on they should have moved forward with him as the starter. I’m glad we picked him up. I feel like it’s going to come down to wether or not Josh looks ready to play in 2018. If Allen looks like he COULD play, I think we cut Peterman and just got with AJ and Allen. If Allen looks like he needs more time, we cary 3 QBs. Either way I see Mccarron as the starter regardless.

How can anybody assume anything will motivate him? What proff has he given that he cares about anything?

I think they have very good players on defense but I think their defense overall is very overrated. They gave up way to many points at times to be considered the best. The Vikings defense is better. That division will be tougher this year with Luck and Watson back. I can’t trust Bortles. I can see them not making the playoffs.

Well then considering I said don’t give up something for a LB, I guess my answer to the question was I’d give nothing for Mack.

I don’t even think we need a LB now. (IMO) Edmunds and Milano are young, fast, modern day LBs that will be the center of this defense for years to come. I realize that Mack is a great player, but it’s a salary cap sport. Go trade for a WR. Don’t give something up for a player at a position of strength.
