Matt Barkley (asking for a friend)

Maybe the ball was more catchable yesterday. Although I will say that he did drop a lot of Allen’s -
Only 10 weeks to late...He can’t hurt us anymore

Yeah, Foster wasn’t ever there when Allen or Peterman played... McKenzie il give you. Hopefully that really was it and the run opens up every week and we sling it all over. Maybe Teller made a big difference. Who knows? I hope Allen kills it. All I know I that if Allen plays a few games and we end up scoring 10 points a week again, the crowd is going to get restless. Then if somehow Barkley got back in and went right back to leading the offense to points, it won’t be good for Allen. I hope the kid plays real well. I just have thought all along he wasn’t ready and I think that more and more every time I see him play. It’s great to learn by playing but in a league where your time clock is running the second you get in....For your own good, you might want it to start after you know what you are doing. Otherwise you will be Blane Gabberting yourself from clipboard to clipboard before you know it. -

How did these WRs magically get “separation” yesterday? We converted 50% of 3rd Downs and kept the chains moving all day. Should have had 3 TD passes. How were the same guys that suck and never “get open” open all day? I mean, maybe if the QB knows what he’s looking at the guys are open? Maybe our WRs aren’t the problem all of the time? If we pick up right where we left off and rip off 30 against the Jags, maybe we are okay. If we go back to scoring 5-10 points every week again, maybe we open our minds a little bit about the QB position. I hope yesterday was just the beginning and we put up 35 a week with Allen. I guess we shall see -

We were one of the worst offenses in nil hostory going into yesterday and then we scored 41 points. I mean it’s just like EJ. These guys suck but because we drafted them everyone acts like you are an ***** for calling it the way it is. We finally looked like an NFL offense yesterday but it’s crazy to want that qb to keep playing -

I hope Allen turns out to be great. I just find it funny that people are almost expecting it. The guy has been nothing but terrible. Again, I’m not even saying yesterday was what Barkley is but I would certainly let him play again. I’m not going to be surprised if he ends up playing well. I wouldn’t just decide he can’t be good because other teams didn’t see it. You never know when a guy is going to get it. -

I’m not saying I think he will be good. I just think it’s asinine to sit here and act like it’s more likely that Josh Allen will be better. It’s not -

Perfectly ideal, they were one of the worst offenses in teams in recent history. An absolutely terrible team. Yeah, that was a real time to shine -

A QB that was barely recruited and struggled at Wyoming? A guy who did very little against severely inferior college competition? A guy that has a lot of physical ability but lacks most of the fundamentals that will allow a QB to be accurate? A guy who struggled to separate himeself from Mountain West competition? The most heavily scrutinized qb in the draft class and the one labeled most likely to bust? Or the high school player of the year, all world recruit. 4 year starter at USC playing in big games against big time teams? Very successful college career. Projected top 10 pick in 2012. Highly polished. Highly intelligent.... When you actually look at what this is, outside of arm talent alone (which is very overrated) Why would Allen be more likely to pan out then Barkley? They both have almost the same amount of starts. Barkley has always been behind established starters and never got a real chance to start. Everyone is making up their mind that Barkley’s ceiling is a good backup, but why? -
It’s a good thing the Redskins just wouldnt play Cousins because they invested so much into RG3....Rather then play the actual guy that gives you the most on offense you should just force in the guy that was drafted higher. Even though ironically the guy taken in the 4th round was a much better college player and actually played at a big time school, in important games against good teams. I’m sure it’s more likely that the guy that was barely recruited and struggled at Wyoming will probably turn out better then the guy who started 4 years at USC and was the player of the year in high school.

I don’t agree. The guys not ready right now. He’s played terrible and wasn't a good qb in college anyway. I’m not saying he will never be good but he sucks right now. Barkley played well and deserves a chance to back up his first start. There’s no harm to that. Allen’s not going anywhere and he probably should have sat out this whole year anyway. If Barkley ends up being real good, it would be so dumb to hurt ourselves by not finding out. Allen is going to get his chance regardless. Barkley might not. Best case scenario we have 2 good QBs. That would be a great problem to have. Let Barkley prove he can’t do it before you take his chance away. Allen’s not going anywhere.

Start Josh Allen (healthy) or Matt Barkley?

It should be about which guy runs the offense better. We scored 41 points yesterday and 41 points in October -

It was a road game against a very good defense, in the division and the guy has only been on the team for 12 days. We scored 41 points and he threw more TDs in 15 completions then we have in the last 3 games -

Barkley. If he plays well again, and the offense scores like a normal NFL offense, stick with him -

We hit more down field passes today then with have hit all year with the golden boy and his cannon. Foster had no issue catching the deep balls that Barkley threw. Funny how the defense also caught none of them for a change. I saw no limitations and I hope Barkley plays until he stops playing well. I don’t care where a guy was drafted or how he got here. I just want the guy that gives us the best chance to score points, to play. Sometimes it takes time. Also he started 6 games for a terrible Bears team and threw for over 300 yards 3 times. He’s not Nate Peterman out there. He hasn’t gotten a chance to play a lot but he hasn’t been terrible. -

I didn’t say he has a good arm. I just don’t think it’s a huge problem. I think it’s fine. -

Because he had a down year in his SR year and was injured late. Do you not agree that had he come out in his JR year he would be a top 10-15 pick? His arm was fine when that was being discussed
