If they're uncoverable then why blitz more. I'll tell you why, because zone leaves too much space for a guy like Burrow to slice and dice. You need guys who can cover immediately. No one can cover over a long period of time.

That’s not what I’m saying. I feel like it’d be a lot easier on our corners. You’re saying uncover able. I don’t feel that at all. I feel like we’d be fine. We are playing way to soft and way to far off. I feel like up on the line and physical our corners will be in better shape. I think every single issue we have is this defensive scheme. I literally hate it. We have the complete opposite idea of what an effective defense should be. We should be fast, physical and setting the tone. Our offense plays that way. We are such absolute *****’s on defense because of McDermott

  2. The QBs in the modern day offense get rid of the ball to fast. Expecting guys to get home isn’t realistic. Truly, you need to blitz. A lot. That’s the answer. Get up tight on WRs when the ball comes out fast and confuse them with blitzes. You are NOT going to get there with 4. It’s not 1975. The Qb is getting rid of the ball in 2 sec. That’s why this defense sucks. The guy is stuck in a different era. Those pass rushers will be neutralized. You need to send pressure and confuse the QB. The scheme Is the problem

  3. Run it back. It hasn’t worked for 7 years, I got a feeling the 8th will just magically change. Teams with even more tape on it…no coach gets this many tries, it’s Tony Dungy Bucs. Keep trying I’m sure this defense that’s only getting worse will just have a day. Hoping to win 53-49 with 3 or 4 turnovers and then being afraid to move on from the continuity. What a disgrace. Keep McDermott here. I don’t care. Just make him the HC. Nothing else. You do not call or influence the Defense

  4. We would have gotten lit up by the bengals. The good passing accurate QBs have zero issues against our horseshit scheme. Just think of how effortlessly Mahomes, Burrow, Stafford, Hurts, Brady, Goff, etc have moved the ball on us. Even Cousins in that Vikings game. It’s like child’s play. It’s the simplest zone with nothing but space and time. All you have to do is stay calm and you have people wide open. It’s plain as day to me and been for years. How everyone can’t see it is mind blowing. How our own coach doesn’t see it is amazing. You know he has nothing to do with the offense. He has nothing but time to tinker with this defense. And he’s terrible. Wtf are we afraid of? What are we clinging to here?

  5. We won’t change anything on defense. It’s been the same thing from day 1. The names change but the predictable outdated preschool scheme stays the same. That actuality is the problem. In 2017 we snuck up on people. Then from the minute of that offseason forward the book was written. Now every single patient or accurate QB shreds us. And I have said this probably 400x…if we aren’t turning people over, we aren’t stopping them. Luckily our QB is generationally great and still beats most teams almost by himself. The issue is when we face a real one with a good QB. We have zero chance of holding them so on offense we have to score a TD on every drive. Something that is as irrational as it is unrealistic. The coach is responsible for the defense and the defense is our yearly downfall. So I ask. What is the ***** point? How many years of Allen’s prime is this guy going to get? All of them? That’s borderline criminal

I mean you're not wrong, but the counterpoint is that Beane/McD are incapable of building a championship defense.  I dont know if it's scheme or personnel but Im leaning towards scheme.  They continually spend draft picks and FA cash on D and keep getting the same results.  Our stars on D go missing in the biggest games

We have the players. The answer is remove McDermott from the defense entirely. You are now the HC. A guy like Mike Petrine (example) Is the DC. You can oversee generally but this scheme will not be the horseshit you run. It’s over. That’s the answer. It’s a 25 min conversation and fix

  7. Great let’s keep ignoring the real issue. We have done it for 6 straight years. Might as well keep the train rolling. The offense is not only the only reason we ever win, it’s also the only thing we don’t need to fix. Let’s get some WRs.

The problem is the defense. The problem is McDermotts defense.

  8. National media guys, know less about the Bills than the really good fans. I’m not sure how we still don’t get that. Who gives a ***** what any of them say or think about the Bills? They don’t watch anywhere near as much of them as we do. That’s why they all picked other teams to win the division in the offseason. They don’t know the team like we do. The defense is the problem. It’s been for 6 years. The head coach is responsible for that defense. He is a problem. That’s common sense. You want to keep him as the HC for appearances and bring in a total outsider to coach the defense? Fine. I’m ok with that. I just don’t want to waste another year with McDermotts Defense. It’s terrible. It’s not good enough to win and the players on that side of the ball will make no difference. The scheme is horseshit and the coach is either to clueless or stubborn to evolve

  9. I’d sign Diggs back before we brought Cooper back. Guy was a zero. Hollins for the right price. Ty Johnson too but I’d assume we want to start to use Gore Jr. Ferguson will be back. Alec Anderson too. The rest can walk. We good.

What do you remember Travis Kelce doing on Sunday?

Also how many teams keep 3 linebackers on the field more than 30% of the snaps?

I remember the Bills not stopping the chiefs and not wining the Super Bowl again because our defense stinks. To be honest, I don’t care what the other teams do. We have 3 LBs that can run and cover. We are actually the team least needing to play a nickel. But we do it the most because our coach is horrible. If you tell me we have a great pass defense..if it actually worked then fine. It doesn’t. So I don’t want to hear reasons not to do what I’m saying. What we are doing isn’t working. Period

For way too long this is the case...  and If we go into next year with a cobbled Defense that has no game wrecker and passive schemes we will see the same result.

The coach is coaching the playmaker out of guys. Our corners are playing 10 yards off WRs. I don’t care who you are, you will make no impact that way. We constantly rotate out our better linemen. We are obsessed with nickel. The 3 guys on the team that fly around and make impact plays are the 3 LBs. We refuse to leave them on the field. Taron Johnson is a good player. I don’t even want to say this because it’s never going to be met with an ounce of understanding. The dude is the most overrated player on the team by 10 miles. Most of the time, He’s either hurt or running after a guy carrying the ball. We act like it’s a death sentence to take him off the field. Our pass defense is horrendous. I’d much rather take my chances with Dorian Williams. At least that guy plays downhill

Defense got two stops to start the second half. All week I heard that we needed a few stops and a turnover. The Bills D got all of those things and still lost.

That’s not enough. 2 stops in 6 quarters is not enough. KC hasn’t scored 30 in a year. They got 32, fumbled in the red zone and also didn’t even try to score on the last drive. Enough of this. This defense is not good enough. 2 stops. It should be closer to allowing 2 TDs than 2 stops. Even the ***** teams KC played, stopped them. It was ONLY us. You have a team that only throw’s underneath and won’t push the ball down field. And this ####### is playing corners 8 yards off! How is that even a thought in your mind? This team will only throw short….get on them at the line FFS

  13. When I say this it will sound impossible and like a joke but Im not kidding. Get creative and at this point, I don’t care about late first round draft picks. Find a way to get Garret AND Crosby. That’s how we overcome this horrendous HC and his scheme. 2 game changers that even he can’t mess up. Skimp and move money, sacrifice the future. Go get both. We have plenty of cheap guys to fill in. Make 1 run

You want to play Ras Douglas, Benford, Hamlin, Rapp, the rookie safety, and Taron Johnson in an aggressive man scheme similar to the Chiefs? None of whom run unnder a 4.6? Well I guess Johnson might be a 4.5 guy.

More importnalty we played a lot of matchup zone, where we aligned zone, but once a player went into that zone, the DB then played him in a way that looked like man.

You can do that when you had a healthy Tre White and Christian Benford as the team did heading into last season.

Quite simply Damar Hamlin does not have the range to play deep safety in this league, and he was forced into that spot because of Rapp's injury. Hamlin can play box safety in this league. But not deep.

I want to do something other than what we did. It didn’t work. All year KC did nothing downfield and was all underneath. Why the ***** would you give them  7 or 8 yards of cushion at the snap to do what they already wanted to do? All day I’d have dared them to beat me deep. Giving teams with good QBs, free releases will never work. It makes zero sense. Idw what decade this guy is in. He thinks Darrel Lamonica is going to just start slinging 60 yard bombs over the top. It’s not the way the league is played. This coach is such a *****. Get up on the line and make the QB hold the ball for a half second extra. Don’t just let them kill you with free releases. Why would anyone even have to be told that? They want to try and hit you over the top? Let them try. We had 2 goddamn safety’s back there 40 yards deep for some reason

  15. He’d be great to have but would be completely wasted here. This guys defense is a joke. And we rotate guys out so much, he’d be playing half the snaps. It’s just pointless. Until there’s a new DC and McDermotts scheme is gone, don’t even bother

  16. The sad part is I actually think we do have alot of really good players. I think the roster is excellent and we should already have a Super Bowl. This team is incredibly hindered by horrendous coaching. The players are not the problem. But until we get a different coach in here, it won’t matter. Bring in whoever  you want on defense and they won’t matter. You can have miles Garret or Chris Jones and this ####### will be rotating them off the field every other drive because he knows better. You can have 2 lockdown corners and they’ll be laying 9 yards off the WRs on the snap because we are terrified of giving up a big play. It’s ok if they get 8 yards 10 plays in a row, just can’t let them get it in 1. This guy knows better. Nothing he ever does works but god forbid you ever question it because he knows better

The defense made key stops when needed. What did the Bills defense do? Like when they had the chance to get the offense off the field on three and out at the end? The game wasn't necessarily over on the Kincaid drop until the Chiefs exposed the weaknesses once again, like they have done before. Like so many teams have before.

I do think Josh is partially responsible for yesterday. He wasn't at his very best, but it's hard to be against a defense as strong as the Chiefs. The fact the Bills got to 29 has a lot to do with him; most other teams would have been blown out on yesterday's performance on defense and offense. And that's why I believe he should be near the bottom of the list when it comes to blame.

They absolutely do not make stops. I’m not letting that go. We never EVER make stops. We didn’t force a punt for 6 and a half quarters. And we didn’t stop them on that FG drive. We were tied and turned around and let them go right to the 10 and score. Here’s an incredible scenario…how about instead of letting a team walk 50 yards down the Field free every ***** time…stop them. Get a sack. Make them punt. Get the ball back NOT losing for a change
