If that's the case Whaley is dead man walking. GMs job to get the talent not a first year head coach. GMs have to look past current staff to set up a team for years not just this staff while the current staff just wants to win now they don't want to wait for a QB to be ready.

Right on man, a big YES from me. Bills have no franchise worthy QB on the team. We do have a huge project behind Tyrod but that project don't look any better then Whaleys other project he had in Brown who is now out of the league. I imagine Whaley won't take one at 10 and then miss out on the better prospects once again to land another late round project just to put us in the exact same spot in a few seasons when they all get fired. So I think they will build around Tyrod like they did with Fitz and end up with the same exact fail, no playoffs, 7-9, a cordinator fired year one and a team that still has no potential franchise worthy QB in sight. Whaley is what he is a QB purgatory enabler. I want a QB drafted at 10 but doubt it will happen since Whaley has no idea how to fix the problem we had when Whaley was hired that he said he was going to make a priority to fix. In Whaleys own words, "QB purgatory".

Do you not see another CJ thread? What he asked was not the problem, the problem is having two threads to talk about one QB, just like multiple Tyrod threads.

Backup at best

It's real sad when other teams find a franchise worthy QB quicker then the Bills. Dallas had a franchise QB and boom Dak is drafted to replace him. Carolina needed a franchise QB and boom Cam is drafted. Sure teams like the Jests have had problems finding a better QB but they know they have a real problem and are addressing it which in turn will have them find one quicker then we will with filling the barn with talent at QB to battle it out for the job. Using other teams backups as the starter, aka Fitz proved they couldn't win it with one either. Using other teams backups to build around is just wishing for that one mircle season, rarely ever happens. Houston is a good example of using other teams QBs but can't find success regardless of who they put around them. Anyone want to bet that NE goes from Brady to another great while we still are stuck using other teams backups as our starter? A better GM will address the problem not try to prop up not good enough in this QB driven league.

I think he has a shot to be a backup at best, most likely trade bait for some team looking for a backup. Not franchise QB worth. In my opinion Whaley drafted him because he was all that was left and Whaley didn't want to look like he wasn't trying to get better at QB, sadly for Whaley his QB purgatory lives on with no franchise worthy QB on the roster and a overpaid starter not good enough to be the future of the franchise. Whaley again gives his staffs QBs not good enough which in turn will get this staff in the hot seat when fans see first hand it's not the coaching of these QB it's the lack of talent they have to get the job done. Without better talent at QB their is nothing to look forward to on this team for the future it's fate is written. Someday we will get a new GM that will be hired that will notice QB is the problem and actually fix it unlike Whaley who called out the problem when hired and then years of staffs later have us in the same exact position because he did nothing but bring in other teams backups and garbage drafted.

New into what I say in a thread that is all about Tyrod in a Tyrod thread that you by yourself have dominated in. You have talked this subject to death on BBMB and have done the same again here in this very thread. I have not posted much in this thread but when I have I have to regurgitate the same old garbage because the same old garbage is being pushed by the same poster. Understand your opinion doesnt trump others its just a opinion, this thread should have been dead after the first page, what it shows is fans are on both sides of the fence even though you keep trying to convert fans to your side pushing fans to get back on that bridge.SMH, just a FYI many are jumping off that bridge faster then you can try to tie them to it.

If a first year HC is driving this team roster this team could be in even bigger trouble by the end of year 2 then what Whaley has ever done.Whaley needs to be more of a GM and take control, if the GM has no power this teams structure is in bigger trouble than I thought it was in.

I agree that Whaley should be replaced if this team can't right the wagon but I want him taking shots at QB to try and fix the problem this team has had since he was hired. By avoiding fixing it makes him fired that much quicker. I want him fighting for his job, sitting on Tyrod is just waiting on the end. The only problem I have with Whaley is him giving all his staffs backup talent at QB over and over again. No staff will be successful with not good enough in the drivers seat.

You did say with Tyrod in the lineup and without like this team is all that with him in it and stunk without him. The depth behind him just makes him better because they are sooooooo bad. Just adding my 2 cents

Hey I agree they could but.... So many years of Whaley make me feel like Tyrod is who they will build around and maybe a very late rounder to sit around with CJ. I just don't see a top pick this year or next all I see is Chan/Fitz all over again with this staff. I will watch the draft with high hopes but sadly I have serous doubts. Got my fingers crossed but expected the same old Whaley. I'm at the point of counting the days of Whaley being fired I'm so sick of his QB purgatory in this QB driven league with so many failed playoff seasons using other teams backups with these staffs over and over again. I do like the band but not enough to proclaiming my username to them.I just like the name and used it on Xbox so it carried over. I also used to drink a bunch of Adrenaline rush energy drinks. Rush the QB. Rush down the field. Feel the Rush, go Bills.

Sure sign Yates, trade Tyrod in this draft for a draft pick and draft Watson @10 and Kelly in the 5th. Trade CJ for a extra pick as well, complete wash of last staffs QBs. Let them all battle it out and if DWatson isn't ready to start the season let's Yates till he is ready, worse case we end up with a top pick in next year's draft boom we draft another QB and dump/trade Yates. 2018 we have solid potential at QB for the future and trade bait for 2019 after one takes over as top dog. All on rookie contracts and shows our GM/new HC knows QB is the only way to build a playoff team/dynasty. 2017 depth at QB: Yates Watson Kelly 2018 depth at QB: Watson 2018 pick Kelly
