I think NE will be losing bad at halftime and then the refs will step up and push Brady for a big comeback win to keep the ratings up. All about the show. If NE is winning at halftime everyone will turn it off so I expect the Brady comeback in the second half.

WHATS THE MOVE FOR OUR WR SITUATION
xRUSHx replied to DKBills25's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Grab one or two in FA, need draft picks for a real QB and other positions. -
Hate the later drafted QB, I am ok with Bradford and Peterman but to wait for a later round QB is so Whaley. No thank you. As for other drafted players too hard to tell when they should IMO move up and take one of the top 5 QBs, so to know what is left IMO is too hard to figure accurately. How about posting mock including some kind of trade up or one taken with 1st pick.

The one thing I am afraid of in the draft...
xRUSHx replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My biggest fear this off season is our new GM will continue Whaleys QB purgatory and avoid drafting a early round QB opting the build the rest of the team first in hopes a top QB falls out the sky for nect to nothing 3to save this team before all the drafted players to fill in do not leave at end of contract. With this draft being rich enough in QB prospects we should be able to move up a little to land one of the top 5, IMO this draft will tell us if this new GM holds the QB position in a higher regard then Whaley. -
Yeah, if OBD again craps the bed trying to find a real QB after decades of fail at it once again I truly think I will not renew my season tickets. I had high hopes of this new staff but to watch Tyrod again getting 3 points, no thanks I think I'll be done spending. Too many decades of fail, if it wasnt for Cinci the drought would still be active. Another OC is not going to help tyrod he will get fired like every other one. So sick of every off season they are going to find one and all we get when the season starts is other teams backups. This team is a farm club for other positions.
-
So OBD again asleep at the wheel, no Smith, no Cousins, does this mean no high draft pick used on a QB either? So sick of OBD going all in on QB purgatory, will Tyrod return or some other teams backup again? Same fail different staff. They never try for one so we will never have one.

IMO. If they get KC signed on at least a 3-5 year contract if I was GM I would then grab a QB with the second 2nd round pick. Hopefully Rudolph would be the guy still there otherwise I would grab next man up but do not wait grab the guy ASAP in rd2 and don't look back. Waiting for gold to be there later is what got Whaley in trouble many times(QB purgatory) so even the first 2nd round pick might be a better shot at one do it, feel the draft out. Now if they do not get KC I would trade the farm to move up and grab one of the top QB prospects from this draft. Getting Smith would be ok but it would only be for one year so we need a top QB prospect ready by year 2 or as old as Smith is could be year 1 so moving up in this draft would be essential for longevity. JMO on it all.

Now here is a good draft, you should have made the thread. The OPs draft reminds me of a Whaley draft
-
IMO he can sit and learn and will be trade bait later on while giving insurance of another QB on the roster with that cheap rookie contract. I do not agree he is trash Ha no but he could turn into a draft pick later on after a year or 2 of learning. Could also become a solid backup here if one of the two go down.
-
Until we have a franchise worthy QB and a solid backup all 3 slots have to be used IMO. If they sign Smith it will be a 2 year deal at max, might only be a one year deal that would leave nobody on the team to be backup. Peterman is the next Foles IMO, a solid backup and a possible trade bait in a year or 2 for some team in need. He is locked in on that rookie contract here IMO.
-
Peterman is here for his contract he is going nowhere IMO
-
I think you are right about cap hit. I also think last year they asked about Smith and KC said no to it but they said ok to 2018 trade of him. So when they made the trade they already had a deal for a trade for Smith this coming off season to give them there draft pick back or depending on how well Smith does in 2017 a lower pick as long as Smith resigns a new deal with us in 2018. JMO

Maybe if the million threads that come up about QBs would not include options about keeping Tyrod you would not have to hear the other side of it.
-
The goal is to address the QB position by going all in on a guy. There is no guarantee "the guy" is going to happen this year no matter who is drafted out of the top 6 but there is a big chance for at least one out of this group to turn into "the guy". Nobody can say for sure about a player, ever and I do not expect them to but I hope and pray they try for once to get the top of the talent tree at QB. The team always has other needs. As in life you go after what you want if it costs more then it costs more but to wait around thinking more about the deal of a century to fall into your hands forget about it real good things just don't happen that way. If you want it you go get it. Plenty of options to address the QB position this off season so if we end up with a later round QB and Tyrod they did no different then what Whaley did and that is to lead us to QB purgatory.
-
Oh so this comment has nothing to do with your other one in this thread that stated. "If Tyrod is retained I think that they draft a guy by Round 2"
-
Fill in all the teams need while avoiding the most important position, sounds just like the Whaley era.
-
Zero chance Rudolph or Jackson are still available in rd2 IMO. SMH If OBD again waits around for a QB to fall to them in the draft it will equal the same fail in finding one IMO. We all want to think this new staff is different but if it is the same waiting game as so many years past it will be the same results. So sick of this team always waiting to get the scraps left after other teams have eaten all the good stuff. As for if Tyrod many including myself want him gone. IMO many fans want to move on from having a QB teams scoff at about how they won big because they made our QB be a QB. I am so done with that. He is not worth half that contract IMO. Enough of the Rex hand picked QB.

I think it's a bunch of things, IMO a few glare out at me. 1)When the NFL took the sport away and made it a entertainment venue it is much easier to look at it in a fixed way. Seeing Brady get help going down the field is disgusting to watch every year. Yeah yeah I know he is about to take a record for oldest non kicker QB to win a SB, who cares. 2) this younger generation does not care anymore about football, mostly IMO because of our generation talking to them about how we are all sick and tierd of the bad officials and the same dam teams every SB. If our generation is not happy with the product we are not going to teach the kids to be happy with it either. 3) fewer choices to watch games on TV. Stuck watching bad games before or after your team and also the radio factor of not being able to listen to teams on. The NFL is all about making more money so it takes away all those that spent the time to watch or listen because they do not want to play extra to do it. 4) player protests made a bunch turn it off. 5) If the NFL wants pay per view WWE matches most IMO will keep there money and do other thinhs in life. So IMO they did it to themselves and it is now coming to a head. Goodell is a huge fail, this entertainment venue is garbage put the sport back in football. Fix the refs and give the fans more to watch on the weekends for free otherwise this decline will not stop IMO. Many liked Howard Stern but put him on Satalite radio and many forget all about him because not pay to listen to a radio considering all the free internet radio available

What are your two biggest wishes this offseason?
xRUSHx replied to downunderbill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Draft a QB in the 1st round. Get rid of Tyrod . -
You only go as far as your QB can take you in this QB driven league. Come draft time we will see if change will happen to the offense with better players or will it be more of the same wishing our D is better then most while our below average QB struggles to get more then a FG because changing only the OC is only half the problem.

Rex hand picked
-
Big risk for other then QB. EJ wasn't even a big risk considering we got EJ and Kiko out of the deal. He set this team back because of his building the rest of the team over building with a QB. Trading for a top WR without having a franchise worthy QB showed exactly where he put QB value. Moving up from 3 was a cheaper move then what we have now. IMO Carolina would have thought hard about taking the trade to move to 3 with extra picks, would they have done it? Who knows but it was never in discussion because IMO MD was the target not Cam.
