  1. He's 6'2" and 287 at the combine Aaron Donald : 6'1" and 275 I'm not saying he's Donald, but he seems to do just fine at that size. I'm just saying his size isn't really an issue. The rest of the questions I agree with. I'm not sold on him but I wouldn't be upset if we got him. If we are picking defense and not oline/wr/te (another discussion) then I'm okay with Oliver if he's there at #9
  2. Agree 100% Level of competition is definitely a factor I do think that the "athletic freaks" who get by solely on that fizzle at the NFL level because the level of athleticism they face is much higher overall in the NFL I think he's going to be really good I don't think the article was excuses, I think it was just giving a possible explanation for why his pass rush numbers on paper don't jive with his talent level and run defense numbers, which are great I think it's like somebody complaining that a deep threat wrs numbers suck, but then you look at the QB he had and realize he had a noodle arm I trust our front office to judge that appropriately (Jesus. That's just something I never thought I'd say... Trusting our front office...)
  3. I'm not too sure in that regard I know he's an athletic freak His pass rush gets questioning though This article kind of addresses that and says he might be better off with a 4-3 style pass rush (like ours) Just food for thought
  4. https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/draft-how-ed-olivers-pass-rushing-was-held-back-by-houstons-scheme Interesting article I came across. This was from 03/18 so apologies if it's been linked/discussed before. I tried searching but there are a billion Oliver and PFF threads/posts that I may have missed it.
  5. I would rather bust that regret not taking him, but I see both sides of it
  6. Sounds like an Antonio brown move... Should get advice from poyer on how to handle it.
  7. Btw Dk had the same shuttle time as Hopkins His 3 cone was 7+ sec, Julio was like 4.36 I'm a DK fan btw
  8. Sorry scorp I read you said that earlier so I was just busting on you ?
  9. Don't forget they traded up for Rosen No. 10: Oakland → Arizona (D). Oakland traded a first-round selection (10th) to Arizona in exchange for Arizona's first-, third-, and fifth-round selections (15th, 79th, and 152nd)
  10. Favre was like 35 when they drafted Rodgers. Not the same as Arizona situation. Agree with the rest of what you said though.
  11. Only if their drug of choice is Jesus.
  12. I didn't say people shouldn't start new threads. I said repeat threads on the exact same topic clutter up the forum.
  13. Well he said he read all of it. So he's caught up fine. Just LAMP'ing it up
  14. So why didn't you add that idea to the thread discussing BPA? A new idea on the same topic probably doesn't warrant a thread.
  15. My point was not that you can't discuss this, it was that there is already a 9+ page active thread on BPA on the first page
  16. I heard this was in another thread, I'm not quite sure, maybe, but I don't really know.
  17. Definitely!! Even if they can, like I said, there is probably a dropoff in play So now that got who grades #9 overall at LT might only grade 2nd round playing RT What waste the pick on that??
  18. We need another slot receiver?
  19. He ran the same 20 yard shuttle time as DeAndre Hopkins Granted his 3 cone was a disaster ?
  20. It's a common misconception that you can draft any guy and just move him to another position on the line. Some guys can do it no problem, but I don't think they are the norm. The concept that you just draft Williams and move him to the other side of the line has issues because : #1 he most likely will not play as well, so taking him at #9 means he's a top LT, but he might only be an above average RT, equal to a later round natural RT Or Even worse case #2 he can't play RT at all at the NFL level and actually sucks I'm not saying these guys can't, because I don't know much about either... I honestly slacked on my oline prospect watching this year. I just hate the narrative I see every year leading up to the draft, this applies to many positions, but I think I see it most with oline, to just "draft him and play him elsewhere" That's kind of what I'm saying People just assume you can move a guy around the line with no dropoff in play Some guys can't play other line positions, some can
  21. I mean, I gave the guy the benefit of the doubt for a while, and the issues with him and Ben were definitely not one sided, based on Ben's track record, and the Steelers didn't handle it well either... That is over though... And he's still going... Although it was a fan who linked the juju team MVP award to ABs Twitter that brought this on... Either way AB should just stop at this point. Maybe gruden will choke him out.
  22. Well they took him over Edmunds, and it's not like they were stacked at LB. I think they were probably closely graded by the Redskins and they chose the position of greater need for two closely ranked players on their board
  23. Well. The Redskins must have.
