top 25 is not saying much. I'm not even sure he's that. Antonio Brown Beckham Julio Jones Hopkins Allen Green Thomas Baldwin Hill Evans Gordon Cooper Hilton Jeffry Cooks Robinson Nelson Tate Watkins Sanders Edeleman D. Thomas Fitzgerald that's off the top of my head could prob put a couple others in there, but with that being said, he's not a real impact guy clay is really inconsistent prob wouldn't put him top 15 either

Yeah they definitely waited Allen. They obviously had Rosen on their board but not as high, which is how we are too. The assertions earlier in the thread that Rosen and Mayfield were completely off the board because of personality is a big leap, and highly unlikely that it weighed heavier than the injury/durability concerns.
-
The problem with your stance here is that you have made the "leap" in assuming Rosen and Mayfield were "off their board" Their rankings may very well have been -darnold -Allen -Rosen -Mayfield They could have had all 4 on their board, even if they felt there were some personality issues. They might also have removed a couple. We don't know. The know this: -Rosen and Mayfield had concussion issues -Mayfield and Rosen are both small, but Mayfield seems a bit more sturdy frame for his size -Rosen had a bad soft tissue injury to his throwing shoulder -Allen had a shattered collarbone which he missed an entire year, but those are more stable afterwards than the shoulder injury Rosen had -Allen is bigger and looks to be more sturdily built than Rosen or Mayfield -Rosen is less mobile than Allen, has a slower release, and seems to get hit bigger/harder and more often More likely than not, those things played heavily on their decisions, moreso than any attitude/personality concerns in the end. Sure, they care about those things, and if all things were equal, I'm sure they'd matter. You have surmised that they mattered enough to remove two guys from their board, one of whom went #1 so it didn't matter, and the other went soon after our pick, which we may have taken Rosen at #7 if Allen was gone.

Am I the only one who has confidence in our WR's?
SouthNYfan replied to WideRightRevenge's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A couple of them have decent, not terrible tight ends (nobody special) -Jets had 3 guys top 800 yards last year, and their QB situation is on par with ours, probably better this year when McCown/bridge vs mccarron, but the future I prefer Allen > darnold. Their wr corps is better than ours, assuming Anderson isn't in jail. -sf has better receivers than us, I wouldn't call it a coinflip, I mean its not massively better, but I'd concede then to be slightly better without question. -Carolina is a question mark when Moore. That's a solid unit if he's great, probably slightly better than our group if he is average. -jax drafted dj chark who has upside, so same with Carolina, they are hoping the rookie is good, but I'll say they are about equal to us at best, unless he is really good, which is a Longshot. -Indy is better because Hilton is just so much better than anything we have it isn't even close, but the rest of their corps is a tire fire. They do have a solid te in Doyle, and they signed ebron who's still got good upside. -Washington is a dumpster fire, so I think they are the worst in the NFL. -Tennessee is a coinflip. If Davis shows up like he was expected to, they are good. If he continues to bust, they are beyond terrible. Delanie Walker is a very good te though, so that helps them. I look at that list and I think Washington is definitely below us I think Tennessee is if Davis sucks, but they are better if he doesn't. Jax WRs are terrible. The rest we are worse than them I think, but like you said, they do have ??s on all the squads. I think it's fair to say every team in there, including us, needs wr help. -
(L to R) Host -okay guys, who's the happiest they didn't go to Cleveland?... Sorry Baker, this one's not for you. Baker -(thinks) *this idiot thinks he's funny* (out loud) hahahaha good one bro, you're on my list now. Darnold - I'm not going to answer, I have my own pro-day set up for questions, thanks Allen - golly I'm just happy to be in the NFL I'm so excited to just get working, also, I heard there was going to be waffles, do you have waffles, where's the waffles?? Rosen - I was thinking we could talk about Trump and Nick saban, are we gonna? I have some really good statistics to argue against them with, no? You sure? I'm gonna talk about them anyway. Lamar - what? I was hoping to go to Cleveland, they turned Pryor into a decent wr, was hoping they'd do the same for me (*thinks* I could dust all these fools on my flip flops*)

Harrison Phillips Senior Stats vs Suh
SouthNYfan replied to Billsfanatixs's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nailed it. Suh was dominant in the NFL at first too, until his work ethic, poor attitude, and lack of discipline on the field caught up with him. The guy was an absolute monster, complete waste of talent at this point. Very true Just ask Rudy ? I see his career being much more consistent, and probably longer than suhs, but he'd be hard pressed to be as dominant as Suh was early on, before he self destructed. -
??Poyer/Hyde both top 5 coverage grade for S ??

Yeah I'll just say that's a good name for the secondary in general -

I would assume that a big body who eats blockers would free up LBS for pass rushing though. Really depends on the scheme. -

Josh Allen. Let's get real people!
SouthNYfan replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep. Although I think Rosen's injury history scared them more than anything. Can't play QB from the IR list. (Can't play it from the bench either after throwing a billion ints, so I mean they all had pitfalls) Probably not. Our front office would need to actually scout some WRs (instead of DBs and other defensive positions) to actually know what one looked like. It doesn't matter how good the QB prospect,or how well he throws the ball, is if he has nobody to catch the balls he's throwing. Josh Allen is not in a position to succeed early on with a lack of experienced QB coaches/mentors on the team, a lack of a good offensive line, and a lack of experienced and talented veteran WRs. His situation is the equivalent of souping up the engine on an old economy car to 400hp, but never building up the brakes, tires, suspension, steering, or chassis. He needs better stuff around him before I'm going to get too excited. That doesn't mean anybody is pissing all over him. -

Nah it's the new upload, they did a patch for this year's draft, as always. I didn't specify. -

The Biggest Whiffs In Buffalo Bills History
SouthNYfan replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nobody chose LOSEman over Ben. I believe it had been confirmed we had a trade in place with the Texans, who pulled back at the last minute because they really wanted a CB, and their #1 choice was taken, and they didn't want to miss on their #2 CB choice, Robinson I believe. (Similar to our Denver trade this year that was pulled back when Chubb slipped, although we still got the guy we wanted) JP was a panic reach after Ben, our target, was gone, but we would have had him with the Texans trade, ahead of Pittsburgh, if things had played the way we wanted. -
Mayfield vs Allen (madden simulation)
SouthNYfan replied to The Wiz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Madden's Rookie ratings are stupid They have "Superstar potential" as a 0-100 number The #1 pick always gets 99, and it goes down from there (so Allen is a 97 for example) Their rookie ratings are almost always based solely on draft position also, so a talented guy like Edmunds or minkah Fitz who slide a couple spots due to "position premium" with a team reaching for a QB, de, wr for example wind up being lower rated than they should. -

I agree with you on the sandlot thing. They do need to do more than just "open running lanes" They need to create a pocket for the QB on pass plays. If they don't do that effectively then the passing game falls apart. Cincinnati's oline in 2015 was average to slightly above average, ours this yeah should be worse, at least on paper. Hopefully it's not.

You really have reading comprehension problems. Almost every single response you give people has nothing to do with what their post was pointing to. You asked if they had a good line that year. I gave you the sack % with Dalton at #13, then said AJ would have been second to last on the league behind the same line, but included that it was a small sample size, so not that accurate. I never made ANY inference that aj was at fault there, and said that I just felt they had a better offensive line than we will this year. I then went on to talk about how tyrods mobility masked a lot of fault with our oline, and that I think AJ, being a pocket guy with less mobility, might get killed back there. You, as usual, went on to respond with some random aj crusade that had nothing to do with what I posted. We get it. You love AJ and all things 'bama. Try reading the posts you're quoting before responding sometime though, since you seem to fail at that.

Am I the only one who has confidence in our WR's?
SouthNYfan replied to WideRightRevenge's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. Look at peerles price for example. Moulds was a clear #1 receiver. Price was a very very good #2, who excelled opposite moulds, but wasn't able to carry the #1 role on his own in Atlanta. Very similar to Benjamin. He would be a very very good #2 on a team like, say, Atlanta, opposite Jones, or Cincinnati opposite Green. On his own as the #1 in Buffalo, he isn't as impactful, since he is getting the heaviest coverage, without another guy to pull the load off him. -
Dalton took a sack on 4.9% of plays, which was good for #13th best in the league that year amongst starters. Aj was 9.2% which would put him second to last (#35) for qualifying players. Smaller sample size for AJ obviously, and he was obviously adjusting to starting, but I think they had a decent line, better than ours is projected this year. I don't disagree with what you said. I like mccarron better than Tyrod since I think a pocket passer is more consistent than a running QB. I think our oline isn't great, and that AJ has a good chance to get annihilated behind our line, while Tyrod could at least run and escape better than AJ can, so he covered up some of the oline flaws. Our receiving corps this year is also nowhere near the bengals 2015, so I'm not sure why pointing out what Tyrod did in 2015 has to do with what AJ is working with this year.
-
Bengals had a very good ranked defense that year. He has a stacked offense with Bernard, AJ green, mahammad Sanu, eifert, and a good line. Our best wr would be maybe #3 on that team Shady is better than Bernard obv, but that year Bernard was very good Eifert is a much better receiver than Clay The oline is a huge ?? . Most likely is worse than the Bengals oline that year. Defense we would be happy to equal the #2 in points and #11 in total yards from the 2015 Bengals. That's why I don't think he will hit 8 wins. I see 4-6.
