Saints trade 3rd round pick for Teddy Bridgewater
SouthNYfan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've said this before and I'll say it again regarding the type of injury he had: It's not about how good he looks now, it's about huge of a reinjury risk he is after what he had. I wouldn't trust his knee as far as I could throw Rob Ryan. -
Jalen Ramsey: Gronk is overrated
SouthNYfan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives

He was still # 9 in pass attempts last year with over 500. Even using last year as an example, they still threw the ball a TON. -
Just grouping these together. It's a tough situation without a great answer. Doing what the NBA did, with Max contracts that are shorter length is what created superteams like the Celtics, heat, warriors, Cavs etc when elite stars can jump ship every 2-4 years and team up, and where, as fading said, teams realized what positions/players are worth the $$ and then they fill the rest of the roster with bs spare parts. I don't know what the right answer is

Sam Darnold Officially Named NYJ Starting QB

What are you talking about? Some rookie QBs start right away, some do not. I don't see what "different approach" you are referring to. -
Peterman will never live down the 5-pick half . . .
SouthNYfan replied to Dr. K's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have watched every snap Peterman played that game and it looked like half the line wasn't even trying. You can believe what you want. You can make your own conclusions from watching it. If a couple of players chose to not block in purpose, and it was kept private, so McD couldn't prove it, then the theory that he wouldn't keep them on the team falls flat. I am not a conspiracy theorist, but what I saw with my own eyes leads me to believe either: A) some of them purposefully allowed Peterman to get crushed Or B) those linemen are just that bad (which makes sense after watching this preseason, they look like they are that bad) Either way they shouldn't be playing anymore because it was a massacre. -

Well if somebody does it himself, and doesn't tell anybody, it's hard to prove. -

I agree completely. I would lose my mind as a coach, as a player who that was done to, and as a teammate. -

Hard to live it down through great play when the fanbase is getting pitchforks and torches when his name is brought up as a potential starter. Do you believe bosa being mic'd up telling his teammates that the oline wasn't even trying to block him? The tape says that he was right. -

I think Nate peed on his dog. What if it's Peterman who does it? -

Most of, if not all the other guys, on that list didn't have those games as their first NFL start. Poor first impressions are difficult to change, disasters like his first impression are almost impossible to overcome. It's why first interviews for a job, why first meetings with a potential business partner, first dates, initial visit with a new doctor, hell even profile pictures, are so important. I'm okay with giving the dude more shots, hell I'm encouraging it, and I actually respect the coach and fo in this sense for not taking that one half as gospel for the rest of his career. If he sucks he sucks, if he's good he's good. Neither can be garnered from that one fateful start, against the most ferocious pass rush in the league, against the hottest team in the NFL at the time. Maybe that will slow the incoming pass rush for more than 0.2 seconds if they have to run uphill Probably not though -

He didn't have a 5 pick half though ?? -
Yep. Yep. Every single time I'd warn about it, I'd invariably have somebody tell me I'm an idiot or a hater. Crazy how that works, huh?

Rosen Allen Analysis on NFL Network
SouthNYfan replied to The Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The average time to fully heal from a concussion is something between 50-100 days. Some symptoms don't even show up right away. Mini blows to the head always add up, and if they are happening before the concussion is fully healed, then they are very detrimental long term. When an actual concussion happens and is diagnosed, there have probably been many "mini concussions" prior leading up to it in a sport like football. -
Their offensive line has been trash all preseason, and was the worst I've seen in about 15 years the other night. Their wide receivers are terrible overall. Their CB's behind tre look completely lost. The Dline creates zero pressure. That's an accurate statement. The article talked about the team as a whole, and the lack of starting caliber talent. You don't need spreadsheets and graphs to see that, just watch the games so far. You made an assertion that the guy in the article was wrong, because he gave no evidence to back it up, yet you gave no evidence to counter his statements. He provided discussion and valid points regarding many of the players and the lack of depth. You did not. If you don't understand that, then I'm not sure what to tell you. Interesting though, the secondary, while above average overall (with tre, poyer, and hyde), the CBs behind tre look completely terrible.

Rosen Allen Analysis on NFL Network
SouthNYfan replied to The Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's mentally tough, in terms of popping back up after getting hit. He's also been concussed a few times on record, and medically, every successive concussion increases your risk for future ones. It's unfortunate, as I liked the kid in college, and wouldn't have been upset if we drafted him, but I do think he's at a huge risk for concussions cutting his career short, which is kind of sad. -
Haha. Listen, I love the Bills, but I'm trying to be realistic. Do I err on the side of pessimism? sometimes, yes I do. I try to be pretty objective with it though. There is zero reason to be excited much of the team. We excelled/outdid our pythag wins last year by what? 3-4? Teams typically regress to the mean after a season like that. It's statistics. Our Oline, CBs after tre, linebackers as a whole, Dline, and WRs past KB are not starting caliber. It's facts, not hard to see.
