I'm not giving them a pass. I'm pointing out that we are terrible on offense, so it is a bit hard to play defense when you're completely gassed all the time. Having said that, 15 of 16 for Rivers is still unacceptable.

4 first down, 110 total yards offense, 3 punts. How about a shameful showing by the OFFENSE!? It's hard to play defense when you only get a 45 second rest after the other team scores.

Somebody should tell beane that you can't take a "low risk-high reward" shot for every single signing. He basically bought a whole bunch of $2-$15 scratchoffs and is hoping they strike gold. He hit big last year with poyer and Hyde. I think that got him cocky and he decided to go all in on the "guys people think are nobody up" free agents, believing his own scouting is the best ever. -mccarron -murphy -Davis -star -Ivory So far all of them look like busts. Yes, it's still early, but they don't look good at all.

Davis? He was the#2 corner in the NFL in 2015 He missed '16 with the ACL tear He looked washed up when he returned in '17 We signed him cheap to a 1 year deal hoping he'd return to form. Most ACL injuries take 1.5 years before they fully recover. Adrian Peterson was an anomaly, with such a fast recovery, but many now use him as the norm. Some guys never recover fully. Davis looks like he's one who might not return to form. Shame.

There's a balance, you can't fill your team with diva/jerkoff personalities, even if they are super talented, but you can't forgo ALL top tier talent because they don't fit the personality you're looking for.

Right dude. I'm saying we need to STOP with looking only for "process guys". "lunch pail guys with heart" shouldn't take priority over talent 100% of the time. That's what I'm saying. I know he's looking for specific kinds of guys. That's the issue. We are focusing TOO much on that. I'm not saying we shouldn't look at character too, but guess what? Talent is necessary too.

Word is they were releasing him Monday, giving teams the opportunity to trade for him. He becomes a full fledged FA, available to highest bidder/his choice, since he's been in the league long enough that he won't go to waivers from what I read. A trade means you have him under control at minimum salary until the end of the season, and his rights can be tendered with and of the tags at that point. I'm not advocating to trade for him, just saying that's why teams would.
