Did Vontae Davis retire at halftime? Yes, yes he did!

Yeah, I'd like to see confirmation that you said VONTAE DAVIS WAS GOING TO RETIRE AT HALFTIME OF THE CHARGERS GAME. -

You told him what? That Davis was going to walk out on the team AND the NFL at halftime of the Chargers game? I find that hard to believe. -

Not sure. Did 'cog keep his $$? I know Wood did, but I think that was the Bills' brass just doing right by him. I'm not sure about the Davis situation. -

I suck a linking twitter, on your original link one of the first posts is KW talking about it. It's pretty crazy. paraphrase: reporter - "will he be welcome back?" KW - "Well that depends on the situation and exactly what happened" (not exact quote) translation: KW - "I've been on some TERRIBLE teams in my time here, and I have NEVER quit during a game, or quit on this team. If that little punk thinks he's coming back here after that stunt he better have a damn good explanation. I'm talking some world changing sh*t. Like his mom, dog, cat, and goldfish just died all at the same time and he found out at halftime. Otherwise, he isn't even welcome in the city limits" -

Agreed. Point was that our defense was very good with gaines in, and not so good without. Not that he was the "most important piece" but more the fact that our defensive scheme relies on TWO good corners. Tre is very very good, Davis, unfortunately, is not, and it was a carryover from last year when gaines was out (and replaced by a subpar corner) to this year with davis being a subpar corner. Was more just pointing out that it's not surprising that the pass D struggles with a subpar corner opposite tre (be it davis, or whomever) -
Can we demote him to DC, fire frazier, and hire somebody for new HC tomorrow?

[Edited Title] Patrick Mahomes Looks Great
SouthNYfan replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Too soon to tell on either of them honestly. Mahomes could flame out asap, Allen could turn into Elway 2.0. We literally have no idea yet. I will say, as I said before, Allen's situation is dogsh*t, mahomes' situation is literally perfect. -

Then McD will definitely sign him to a big extension. He's probably came back too soon last year, tried to rush it, and has done some permanent damage to the knee, sapping his ability to hang with WRs. He could probably convert to safety at this point though and be very effective if he wanted to be. -
McD took over defensive play calling in 2nd half

Literally. They were asleep the first half (night) and awake the second half (day). -

metrics last year showed our defense was significantly better with gaines on the field if I remember correctly. -

Two actually. He lit it up last week also. he also has a real offensive cast around him, and a coach who knows what an offense looks like. and an offensive line -
As I said before: Allen: rookie QB, defensive minded HC, rookie OC (who failed in NFL prior), barely practice squad talent at WR and OLine, aging RB (still very good), TE who goes missing for weeks on end Mahomes: sat a year behind alex smith, QB guru HC, good offensive line, Pro bowl caliber WR in hill, watkins, young stud RB, top tier pass catching TE Pretty easy to see why mahomes is succeeding there, and it's very unfair to compare the situations of the two. Also, digging deeper, look at our WR and TEs: Hill and Watkins are better than ANY receiver in our team by a LONG shot. Kelce is far superior to Clay. Our "#1" (haha) receiver KB would be literally THIRD (maybe lower) on the Chief's WR depth chart. Clay would be miles behind Kelce on the TE depth chart. Hill, Kelce, Watkins are better than ANY pass catchers on our team by lightyears. Hunt is as good or better than CURRENT mccoy (I'll go with better) So our three best offensive players (KB, Mccoy, Clay) would not even crack the top 4 on the chiefs offensive "best players" list. Let that sink in before you start riding mahomes jock vs allen. (mahomes might wind up better, who knows, but comparing the two now, with these situations, is just completely asinine)
