  1. It is really easy stuff that you aren't grasping. He's not a "potential free agent". He is under contract through 2018. He is due $18mil if he is on the roster on the 8th day of the new season. we can CUT HIM to save about $8mil from the cap (leaving 10 in dead cap) prior to that date. So no, he's not a "potential free agent" who we are going to cut then re-franchise for $22-25mil for one year when we already have him for $18 of nobody wants him. Nobody is going to tender TWO first round picks for him AND $4-6 million more than what he was already scheduled to make. If they think they can get anything for him, you just keep him for $18mil and trade him for whatever they will offer, which ISN'T GOING TO BE TWO FIRST ROUND PICKS.
  2. How did Watkins cost 5 the future?? We swapped up from #9 to #4 and threw in the following year's first and useless 4th rounders. It's obvious they wanted a WR so if the picks went the same order, assuming sammy went #4, then Mike Evans and obj and Brandon cooks were available... Any of them wouldn't have been franchise altering for us. Nothing was made of the 3 picks we traded, as the 2015 draft was kind of trash from where we would have picked and pleased onward. We then traded Sammy to the Rams for EJ Gaines and a 2nd rounder this year. So all in all as of today we are left with: EJ Gaines and a 2018 second round pick #56 To get that we gave up: Sammy Watkins, 2015 #19 and #115 How is that a loss of 5 picks? It's not "imo" Show me how you can franchise tag a guy who isn't going to be a free agent? Even if you could, it is either an average of the top5 or top10 salaries at the position, depending on the type of franchise tag you use. That would be around $22,000 for Tyrod plus the picks, vs 18 and picks with a normal trade You're completely off the mark on this
  3. Sees what? You can't franchise a guy who is under contract... You also can't cut a guy to franchise him Plus he's due $18 mil this year if we don't cut him, vs $25+ on a franchise tag... Even if you hypothetically could do this... Why would any team pick him up for $25mil and lose 2 picks? Why wouldn't said team just offer a trade for him now, while he is only making $18 mil? Y'all don't understand the franchise tag.
  4. Right. I hate Tyrod. I cannot wait to be rid of him. Financially though, our QB position is a financial mess this year If we keep Tyrod, it's $18 million against the cap allocated to him as our starting QB, which makes me want to puke. If we cut Tyrod, we need to count his $9mil (I think? It's between 8 and 10 I forget the exact #) of dead cap PLUS whatever we pay his replacement as "allocated" to the starting QB. That means if we sign say, Bradford (just picking a guy, I'm not advocating for him, before anybody gets all huffy) to $15mil this year (which is prob what he will get)... Then he will count as $15mil+$9milDead = $24 mil of cap towards the cap for the starting QB.
  5. You hanging out with beast mode?? Seeing as there isn't a real link, I think it's a LaCONfora joke
  6. Cousins isn't happy with the skins. They lowballed the crap out of him last year, and when he rejected, they threw the franchise on him, against his wishes, then slammed him publicly. That punched his ticket out the door.
  7. Seen this on a bunch of other posts. JOSH McCown. Not Luke. Anyway I'm okay with this list if it happens. Especially the Tyrod to Miami. I hope he takes his "talents" to South Beach. They can have him.
  8. Except Allen doesn't seem to be a headcase like Leaf. Allen has a heck of a ceiling, and looks like the most physically gifted guy in the draft. He also needs a ton of work. Will the fan-base be okay with drafting a guy who needs 1-2 years on the bench?
  9. Agreed on your whole post I was agreeing with you, the guy said that was the year @#3 , but there wasn't much avail with Cam gone Btw locker was not terrible, he was starting to show promise, but injuries derailed his career.
  10. Who was the answer?? Gabbert was the best QB taken, Dalton later on.
  11. An is just playing the cards right. Forcing himself into FA when there are a ton of QB needy teams chomping at the bit. I think he's going to get at least $15/yr and I'm just not ready to commit that to him. Let's hope we get a guy in the draft though. Like a good guy. Like not a 5th round lottery ticket. Go bills.
  12. This. I'd love to trade up for Rosen, or whatever, or sign cousins, but it's all hypothetical If nobody is willing to let us trade up, doesn't matter what we want. If cousins doesn't want to sign here, and nobody really knows what he wants yet, then all the "just sign cousins" **** goes out the window
  13. Glad it's not a leap year
  14. 3 games is a pretty low sample size. Darnold has less experience than the others, so he's less polished. Darnold could be great, or could be another USC flameout.
  15. So only one more tyrod menstrual cycle to go?
  16. He has negative rushing yards because he's a pocket QB, not a scrambler, and sacks are counted as "negative rushing yards" for a QB in college stats. He took about 400 yards of sacks over his college career, and rushed for about 250. When you subtract the sack yards you get a negative #. Darnold rushing ran for about 500 yards gross, but listed as 250yds after you subtract his 250 yards from sacks. Should ideally know where stats come from before just throwing them out there. 100%
  17. You are making eyeball guesses. You said that Freeman is much faster and it's not even close. The fact is Stewart ran a 4.46sec 40 yd dash. That is pretty fast. McCoy ran a 4.45. I'm not saying that Freeman might not run a faster 40 than Stewart. I'm saying that for your assessment of it not even bring close, Freeman would have to run a sub 4.3 which would put him like top 15 all time at the combine. That was my point. I don't care if you've watched every ducks game ever played. He's not significantly faster than Stewart was coming out. (I think he's a very good back, by the way, and wouldn't be against drafting him)
  18. Whoops. My bad.
  19. Didn't cousins OC become HC in SF not LA?
  20. Based on him being lazy and assuming they are identical because they are black and run Zero idea what you are talking about You can say you don't want an athletic, running QB Tyrod wasn't even 1/5 the prospect Lamar is That's a fair assessment I didn't think of that I would love to see some actual #s regarding this though, to see which side is more accurate
  21. Right. I could accept third on a low end for the grade, though I think he's a second at worst, but will be reached in the top15 at the lowest My point was the guy calling him a "4th rounder AT BEST" was either a complete exaggeration or a complete lack of knowledge.
  22. I don't disagree. I think he's a boom or bust. His floor is pretty much Ryan mallet (that's a bad floor) and a few see him with a big Ben ceiling. That's a pretty lofty comparison to throw at a guy, a Superbowl winning HoF lock QB. I don't buy that being his ceiling, but you never know. Bottom line is he could be a top10-15 pick, or a 2nd round pick after a big slide. I was just saying that a guy calling him a "4th rounder at best" is just plain wrong.
  23. On what basis do you come up with this statement? Legit wondering what you're thinking. If anything they are less equipped, as the passing game being more open/spread and the tackling rule changes would help any running QB. They help a pocket qb more, but they don't hurt a scrambling QB at all, unless I'm missing something. Lamar Jackson, by all accounts, seems to be Michael Vick 2.0 with a much better work ethic and head on his shoulders. I am not saying "omg trade the farm take him #1" I'm just saying that if he is there when we pick, he's worth considering.
  24. Your username is appropriate. I'm not saying Allen is #1 or kiper is right on him by any means, but a "4th round pick at best" is just complete exaggeration or ignorance. He is a first round pick on his physical attributes/arm alone for most. If he makes it out of the top 15 I'd be surprised. You can dislike him, think he's a project, whatever, all you want. Saying he's a 4th rounder at best is complete hogwash though.
