No. You cannot. https://overthecap.com/position/wide-receiver/

The cap is $178mil. 13% of that is $23.14mil. Antonio brown is #1 paid right now at like $16-18mil I think it is. Apparently you think Sammy is going to get $5-7 mil more than brown

He had a concussion this year. He had a second foot surgery last January before the season. He has played well when healthy. I decided what your point was because your are acting like he isn't a great talent who has been hammered by injuries. It's pretty obvious what your point is.
-
You acted like he didn't have the talent. Case in point. He's done a lot with his talent when he was healthy. Unfortunately he hasn't been very healthy.
-
I thought they were all FA examples, so I just misunderstood the context. Hasselbeck was a throw in because he was still slated to be the backup to dilfer. I wasn't "groomed" for 3 years by holmgren. He was drafted in 1998 Holmgren went to Seattle in 1999 Since you are playing the "correction" game and all. The rest cool I'll concede.
-
Our offensive numbers were drastically better with him on the field. I'm glad he's gone because the $$ he would command vs how often he is on the field was not worth it. To deny his ability/talent is ignorant though.

Just some info on those guys: -brees: by all accounts had a career ending injury, even his surgeon publicly said it was a miracle he could even throw again. The chargers drafted Rivers with the assumption Brees wouldn't recover. Miami passed because of this. Saints hit the lottery. -jimmy G: drafted as backup/possible heir to Brady, who is playing at a high level longer than expected. -hasselbeck: he wasn't a free agent with the Seahawks, he was a backup to favre, traded as a throw in with a first round pick so the Packers could move up in the draft, but he was projected as a backup. -Palmer: similar to Brees, Cincinnati thought he was done for and didn't pay him after injuries. -warner: great story. Love me some Kurt. Similar to Brady, an accurate, smart, hard worker who landed with a coach who maximized his strengths, flopped with the Giants, then came back again with the Cardinals. He's a great story. -young: benefited from a great situation and mentorship in SF, good story, fits the narrative well.

Let's turn the keys over this season to a guy who had one good drive against the saints in garbage time against their third stringers when we were down by like 80points... Oh wait we gave him the keys the next game, and he proceeded to have the WORST HALF OF QUARTERBACK PLAY IN NFL HISTORY. I want Tyrod gone. I was in favor of giving Nate a shot against the chargers. That was a mistake. Sure, he might turn things around, right? I might get a date with Emmy Rossum if I ask nice enough too, right? If I go down to the local Ram dealer they might give me a free 1500 rebel because I have a nice smile too, right? I'm not giving up on him. I'm saying that skipping on a QB in the draft, signing McCown, and praying that Nate turns into a miracle is just plain awful as a plan. If we finish this off-season with Nate and Tyrod/McCown as our QBs, the front office should not only be fired, but banned from the NFL. I just said the same thing. We agree 26!! Maybe miracles do happen!?

Eh. If by seeing more of him now means preseason? Great go for it. I think seeing more of him on preseason would be good. I'm also not blind. There is an abundance of QB options this year, some better than others. In no way should we just cut Tyrod and hand the keys to Peterman. Nope. No. So I'm with you kelsay, to think he's the answer is absurd, and handing Peterman the future right now is an even bigger risk than going full ditka for Josh Allen. We don't agree on much, but this one we definitely are on board together. Say no to Nate.

Umm no?? Maybe if they trade to broncos/jets, as you're only risking a couple of spots for the "same player" to be there. The "same player" will not be there at 21/22 if they trade with the bills, that's the whole point of trading up in the draft, because the "same player" won't be there 18 picks later...

KB is a big target. He had below average speed before two one injuries. Sammy is also made of glass. Having said that, I'd still take Sammy over KB if both are healthy. I think Sammy would command a higher salary, he is a game changing talent.

On point my man. I do have injury concerns for Jackson just based on scrambling QBs injury history in the NFL. Mobile, athletic, scrambling QBs as a whole have shorter career than most of the top end officer guys. I don't think that's worth passing on Jackson if he's there btw because of this. Anybody who says Jackson is tyrod 2.0 is either completely clueless, lazy, or just being dramatic.

Yep. The draft as a whole is more wrong than right. People love to tout hindsight like "I told you so!" When they were right on one of 20 picks they said were "can't miss" If you disagree with every pick a GM makes for example, you are probably going to be greater than 50% correct in disagreeing with said GM. It's like the people who point to Brady being a 6th round pick or Wilson being passed over for over 2 full rounds. Those are the exception, not the rule. You could also argue that the Seahawks were wrong for not taking him in the first round of they knew he would be that good (they had no idea) or the Pats made a mistake be passing Brady for 5 other rounds, then having him on the bench, until bledsoe got hurt. They didn't know what they had either. The draft is a freaking crapshoot, just gotta hope your guess is the one that pays off.

The USC QB thing has definite merit though! -Todd marinovich! -John David booty! -Matt Barkley! -Cody Kessler! -Matt leinart! -"Mr. Butt fumble" Mark "the Sanchize" Sanchez !!! -Rob Johnson (*vomit*)!! -Rodney Peete!! -Matt Cassel! -Carson Palmer!! (He was actually legit) That list is a sad sack of sh*t QBs Oh also, for the laughs: Mike White - terrible name, seriously, I mean, how can you say "my franchise QB is Mike White"??

So you quote an article that opens with a couple of teams that make sense for cousins, then it discussed other teams' pitfalls, using this to bolster an argument that Buffalo is still a cousins destination, yet nowhere in the article does it mention Buffalo as a potential destination?? I'm confused. I get the negatives part, but it doesn't even have Buffalo on either the good or bad list. Cousins is a pipe dream. I love the guy and would take him in a heartbeat, but I don't see him in our future. Btw here are the Vegas odds as of yesterday: New York Jets 2/3 Denver Broncos 7/4 Arizona Cardinals 15/2 Buffalo Bills 12/1 Jacksonville Jaguars 12/1 Miami Dolphins 20/1 New York Giants 20/1 "Buffalo, like Denver and Arizona, have limited cap space. The team currently has close to $30 million available which makes them hard to take seriously as a suitor for Cousins. The Bills could surprise many around the league and take a run at Cousins, but it doesn't seem like the type of move Brandon Beane would make as Bills general manager." -
Your scenario makes no sense. HE IS UNDER FREAKING CONTRACT FOR $18,000 FOR ONE YEAR. The only way he is a potential free agent is if we cut him. We aren't going to cut him then RE-SIGN HIM FOR 23 MILLION ON THE FRANCHISE TAG BECAUSE WE WOULD STILL INCUR THE $10MIL DEAD CAP FROM CUTTING HIM. If we plan to trade him, we will roll the dice, keep him for $18mil then trade him for whatever bag of donuts and chewed gum somebody offers. ERGO Nobody is going to give TWO first round picks for a guy we just "franchised" for one year and $22-25 million WHEN THEY AREN'T EVEN CHOMPING AT THE BIT FOR $18MIL AND A PACK OF CIGARETTES IN TRADE. Christ. Can we have an iq test for members?
