  1. You mean when the 49ers had one of the best defenses in the NFL? Smith had 3100 yards 17td 4int that year Not bad but not elite by any means. Again, above average game manager. Not a guy who carries a team, but a guy who is better at not losing a game than he anything else. Don't act like you don't know the difference. Smith isn't elite, but he's solid. This sounds more like your hate of cousins clogging up the convo. He's better than Smith.
  2. i mean, joe namath is in the hof, so i donno fair points you made i still don't see alex smith as anything more than a game manager prior to this season he's not a guy who elevates a bad team he's a guy who you put on an already good team honestly? if he was in new england instead of brady i think he'd have a couple of rings himself though i don't think he's bad by any means he's an average to above average QB who had a standout season this year this season was most likely a fluke he'll go 6-10 next year since the skins are hot trash
  3. And what about his wins? As I said, only 12 of Smith's 89 career wins were where the team gave up 21+ 13.6% of his wins were when the defense gave up above the league average 20 of Kelly's 101 wins were at 21+ 21% of his wins were when the defense have up above league average A 8% difference Are you implying that Alex Smith is a HoF QB? Or that Alex Smith is as good as Kelly?
  4. i said WHEN THE DEFENSE DOESNT PLAY WELL when they gave up 20+ points he was 2-6 sorry, they lost 75% of their games, not 90% i'm showing you that your attempt at proving my claim wrong was completely off the mark look at the rest of his career he doesn't win much without the D holding teams to league average or below he's not a top flight QB he's an above average game manager, a guy who can win you games with an elite defense, but not a guy who can carry a team by himself only 12 of his 89 career wins have come when his team has given up 21+ points
  5. I was speaking historically for his career 2017 was far and away his best season I'm willing to bet it being an outlier, not the norm going forward Alex Smith went 9-6 this year. He didn't play the last game that they won. He only won 2 games in which the team gave up more than 20 points, the season opener and against Houston. I fail to see what your point is, or how anything I said wasn't true?
  6. yeah. even alex smith never came close to playing as well as alex smith did last year haha. career wise, alex smith is an above average at best game manager. he's not going to wow you with his stats, and the issue with those type of guys is that if your defense has an even below average day, you tend to lose 90% of the time. bradford is still 3-4 years younger than smith, and he also has had a lot of injuries hinder his performance in the league/ability to get into a rhythm. smith has had a better career for sure, even if you look at bradford without the injuries. smith has definitely had better teams/coaches overall than bradford though too. (by the way, i think bradford would be a solid, above average QB if it wasn't for the injury history. i don't trust his knee as far as i can throw him)
  7. Should make an entire roster of great names. ARMANI Rogers LeCharles BENTLEY CADILLAC Williams LINCOLN Kennedy TAIWAN Jones JAZZ Peavy PAC-MAN Jones HA-HA Clinton Dix MONTGOMERY VANGORDER SPEEDY Morris I just want a roster full of guys like that.
  8. name is too generic. Armani Rogers? that's a superstar name. Ty Gangi is pretty legit of a name too. Brett Rypien is also Mark Rypien's nephew, so maybe we should go with him instead, you know, because the bloodline and all.
  9. The only mobility he should have is being drafted before we get to him I think the guy is too big a risk for a us
  10. Look at the bottom of the left-hand frame It's "hosted by geocities" I think we just found a wormhole to the 90s. If we don't close it fast, the spice girls might flow through.
  11. Can we draft "Armani Rogers" ?? Pleeeeeease!?
  12. You mean the whole "NFL rules vs "patriot's rules"? Like how Chris collinsWORST complains about the eagles guy barely pushing off, or whining about an offensive holding call that was against the eagles, then commends gronk for "selling a hold" because "he's the best in the league at that" and then cheers him on when he levels his defender with a push off?? I hate watching Pats games so much anymore. Inconsistent officiating is a huge problem, and it's magnified against the Pats.
  13. "It's okay buddy, keep chucking it don't worry, as long as somebody catches it, even if they are on the other team, it's better than an incomplete pass because SOMEBODY caught it!!"
  14. I think Nathan Peterman was told the same story about being anything he wanted to be. Maybe somebody should have told him to set the bar lower too??
  15. I see a better version of Colt McCoy with Baker (that's a good thing, Colt actually was looking to be a top pick before his shoulder injury) He reminds me of manziel and Russell Wilson in their size, rolling out, improv, backyard football type playstyle. Baker has a better arm and accuracy than Johnny had, but is less athletic. I don't think Baker is Johnny 2.0 with his personality/character by any means, that's absurd to me, but his playstyle is similar, but I think baker's strengths will translate to the NFL better. He is about as far from a "cerebral pocket passer" as this qb draft has though.
  16. *Slowclap* Glad we agree (on Jackson too)
  17. But he has been capable of the same mediocre play for 3 years now, getting worse each year (yes I know there are other factors, but it still is a fact he got worse every year)
  18. I agree, but there's only so much room, and only so much wiggle room he might be willing to give A backloaded contract might work, but that could cause trouble later Mind you I would love Kirk and I fully believe they should make a push for him I'm just trying to say that people like to say things like "sign cousins" as if it's that easy, and an absolute. Ya know?
  19. Does anybody who clamors for cousins look at our cap? Unless we get him to take like $18mil a year we are literally not going to get him
  20. Maybe we should keep tentative Taylor... Just in case the league addresses the problem of teams with real QBs frequently having an advantage, by starting teams like the Bills at 14 points right off the bat.
  21. Agreed, except for Fitz part, he was definitely a better QB than Trevor... Although that's like saying you'd rather get punched in the face than in the nuts... You're still getting punched either way, they both suck.
  22. Need a huge set of beer googles to even want him as a backup
  23. I'm completely off the grid with scouts too, do you think I can play TE in the NFL too???
  24. I've been to Belize, it wasn't all that special, I liked Bermuda much better A pony smells and poops a lot. (Just joking on your post) I agree though. Every person is like "just sign cousins and be done with it" as if it's like going to Walmart and buying a gallon of milk. There are other teams competing for him, and cap space is an issue for us this year. "Just draft Baker/Rosen/darnold and be done with it" ... None of them will be available when we draft as is, which means a trade up, which means somebody has to be willing to trade, which isn't always the case.
  25. Obv. Can't have an opinion that goes against the oppressed, because you are automatically sexist, racist, homophobic, whatever you are to be called at the time.
