  1. Im just going to point out that your search showed 13 games where a qb reached the statistical ceiling that you cited as desiring in a "good" Bills starter (375 yards and 4TDs) over the span of 3 years. So, out of the 768 games played in total over that time span, a starting qb met your standard 0.0196 per cent of the time. So yeah, I think your standard for a franchise QB is too high. If we were talking Hall of Fame QBs, I'd be more likely to agree with you, but we are not, we are just describing someone who deserves to keep a starting job, not someone who deserves to be enshrined in Canton.
  2. The sample size is far too small for any factual claim to be made, counter to what you hyprocritically and arrogantly claim to be reality. The problem is that your supposed standard for quality QB play was inflated from the get go. So all your really doing is dressing up an opinion with some numbers that you decided were important.
  3. Your tone is condescending, and your standards are unrealistic and silly. And when you have unrealistic and silly expectations you are destined to be dissapointed. How many 375 yard 4 touchdown Quarterback performances occur, on average, each year? Not enough to set that possibility as a realistic benchmark for who you think the Bills QB should be.
  4. Agreed. And I have no problem with moving on from Taylor. But I do have a problem with the brutes who still want to complain about a guy who we got for basically nothing, who played better than most people anticipated, and who contributed to the end of the teams playoff drought. Thinking that a QB from Alabama will be an immediate upgrade is more than silly.
  5. Your idea of 'a real QB' needing to throw for 375 and 4tds regularly is entitled, unrealistic and silly. Its akin to being the creepy dude who only hits on girls that he thinks are 10's, and that dude never gets laid.
  6. Of course they aren't, but 10 yards is 10 yards; and 6 points is 6 points. And running is not necessarily inefficient if you want to chew the clock and rest your D. Its actually pretty damn efficient when you want to protect the ball.
  7. When I say above half, I am including everyone who played, as that offers a more complete picture. And yes, every average starter deserves to keep their starting job, there is nothing really that controverisal about that. Why? Average starters don't grow on trees, and you can waste multiple seasons trying to develop an inexperienced QB into an average QB. We are wasting this season, and there is no guaranteee that a current QB on the roster will even be average, long term. Most 1st round qbs dont develop into average starters. Its a roll of the dice.
  8. Points includes passes and rushing TD's. Well over half the QB's in the league refers to every QB who started a game in 2015, 2016, and 2017. Points are points- whether he threw a TD or ran for one; QB's in the league are QBs in the league. And your response proves my point exactly: people dont add what he does in the running game to his stats, as if he is no longer a QB (by virtue of magic) every time he takes off and runs. Its silly and unnecessarily old school, reminding me of the devaluing of walks that plauged baseball thinking for years. I don't care if a QB throws for a 1st down or runs for a first down, as long as he gets a 1st down, so saying that he was a good runner but a bad qb makes no sense to me.
  9. And they still think that, and that the offense is somehow going to magically improve with AJ. People still wont give him credit for averaging between 5 to 6 yards per carry during his tenure in Buffalo. Or the extra 500 to 600 yards and 4 to 6 tds that his rushing contributed to the offense each year. For most posters those numbers don't count or even exist, or a silly 4th quarter comeback stat that Aaron Rogers rates lower at is more important. But those contributions did matter and they were pretty damn significant for the teams total offense when added to his passing. And he's right to say that, because in the end he accounted for more points than well over half the Qbs in the league.
  10. Bills 5-6 wins Browns 7-8 wins Get as excited as you want over t-shirts and shorts practices, but we have a new offense, new qbs, a new oline, 1 wide reciever, and Tyrod, irregardless of what you think about him as a passer, extends drives and puts up points (when he gets in the redzone) with his ability to run. Our defense will keep us in games, but we will have more three and outs on offense (run, run, incomplete) and will be settling for more field goals than TD's. Alot of folk out there naively think that the QB play will immediately improve, and that the offense will be close to the same, despite the fact that the room is unexperienced, the team lacks depth at key positions, and injuries happen regularly. Its not unreasonable to expect that our North of 30 RB will get injured at some point and that teams will double team our only recieving threat. I expect alot of 7-13, 10-14 close losses. And Allen starting at some point, near the third quarter of the season, when the playoffs are out of reach. There will be growing pains.
  11. For the record, lots of stuff doesn't get flagged on here that would get flagged elsewhere. So if sensitivity on a football message board bothers you, then I would suggest ignoring large portions of the internet.
  12. Yup. He's not coming from a pro system, and will take half a season, at least, before he starts. And to assume that any NFL club would let political correctness effect their starting QB choice is to be really, truly stupid. The opposite is more likely, as Colin Kapernick is far more serviceable than most backups in the league ( and the majority of the Qbs that Buffalo will be starting with) and he doens't have a job yet. The anti-political correct crowd has way more sway in the over NFL decision making, and its not even close.
  13. Chan Gailey's offense was impressive given the talent on the team. His D coordinator pick, however.
  14. And when all the NE (analytics?) fans were describing him as the most underrated player in the league.
  15. They handed a 4-3 league leading defense over to a head coach who only runs a 3-4, and then fired that coach and replaced him with a 4-3 guy. And they let the 4-3 guy (who has never developed a pro level qb) trade up for a project qb that a college OC who is known for running the ball will have to mold into an NFL success. Like all the interviews you want, and while I have nothing against Kim personally, it all starts at the top, and you can't convince me that a competitive search would not turn up a better candidate for the job.
  16. Why not play him at lb, in addition to special teams? What could go wrong?
  17. If we take a step back, get a high pick and Collin Johnson puts it all together; he could be it.
  18. Maybe they should, but they already invested too much in Allen not to double down. They have to pair him with a potential number 1 that he can develop chemistry with long term. If the value isn't there, I would expect a trade back again. Having a QB who has the strongest arm in the NFL means very little if you don't have a buner at WR who can stretch the field. Allen isn't a finesse passer, and he may never be. And without a deep threat he will be easy to stop. We desperately need a speedster with size who can track the ball, a number 1 like AJ Green with all the tools. Without that kind of help, he may never develop.
  19. Not if they keep Hughes, he's signed through 2019, and Murphy is effective.
  20. I think its safe to expect a WR with the 1st overall pick next year.
  21. Oline and WR are picked pretty clean at this point - and this regime doesn't seem interested in taking risk on guys with character concerns Anyone who can develop into a starter is where the value is at right now.
  22. If Rosen starts early and has success; soon, very soon.
  23. The only comparable situation I can think of is Flacco, but he was drafted at 18 and his completion percentage was above 60%.
  24. With all the other holes, the given up picks, the head coaches area of expertise and the carosel at OC, I don't see it happening under Allen's rookie deal, or this coaching regime, for that matter. If Rosen plays early and plays well, patience is going to run out, quickly, and Dermott and Beane will be out the door before they have the chance to do so. It already happened in Cleveland.
  25. Ideally, but how does he do that without a relaible deep threat when A.J has to start. Does he just tank and wait until next year?
