Never once said he was guilty. Your deliberately twisting my words around to try to make a point and your not doing a good job of it. He is an expensive rb with an injury history and a sketchy past who just turned 30, or the age when most backs decline, and he's a 9 mil cap hit.
-
It does not, I agree. They are rebuilding. This would probably have been his last year anyway, and he's missed games every season, plus the oline is new and if they keep Benjamin and he gets paid, he would likely be out anyway. Its not that hard to find a replacement next year, and given his prior history, and the fact that he already hired a lawyer that is communicating with the police, its hard to picture a future where he steps on the field again. I don't think he will. Lots of folk think that I'm irrational for saying that, BTW.
-
Nope alot of them are more worried about losing a 30 year old injury plagued running back that is overpaid. They think she might have staged the whole thing and he will be cleared and fine. Stay tuned for an update on how this might impact your fantasy league.

But I can add that there is specific work on sports fans and their reactions to incidents like this. I'm not going to bother pulling it and posting it. I've done the same thing before on this board and its honey for trolls who like to take things out of context. Do the reading yourself if your interested, there's lots of work on why assuming victims of violence did it thenselves is a ****ty asumption made by people who consume ****ty information, and how those views can prevent victims in a variety of domestic violence cases from coming forward. Yeah cause alot of negative chatter is coming from fans who care more about football than victims, and there making each other feel smart, when they are not smart.

Its a pretty extensive body of research and not hard to find if you want to look.

And you think she might have staged it for money. Here is the reality, and why your guess work is lacking in good judgement and taste in my opinion. False accusations only amount to roughly 2% to 4 % of police reports filed. Feel free to look that stat up if you like. So its not probable that any given case where two women have been assaulted has been made up. When people make up assaults they rarely go to the police; their too lazy. They just talk crap online. And in cases where it was made up, and the police were called there is usually some pretty telling forensic evidence which sticks out that make cops suspicious right away (women and men who make false reports can be pretty dumb). The problem is that whenever a false accusation is proven its often written about by conservative news outlets, while the 96 to 98 percent if of actual cases are not reported on, often to protect the privacy of victoms. So peolple who only consume conservative media think that false accusations are far more common than they are. That its like 50 50, and they use that knowledge to talk smack about women who are victims of violence and that prevents women from reporting violence in a lot of cases. So yeah, I think your opinions are baseless and harmful to victims, and that's my opinion. I hope that no one in your family ever has to go through that and then deal with the extra pain that the speculations and assertions that you are making add to the situatuon. I take a very conservative position on this matter; its not lefty, snowflake, cuc stuff. Its victims rights.

Put on your big boy pants and deal with the reality of the world we live in. Or cling to rumor and innuendo and pretend that its still 1990.
-
Yes. Its my opinion. We will see who's right and who's wearing the tinfoil soon. We live in a different world today.
-
Yes. This isn't going away any time soon. He's a 30 year old rb on the tail end of a contract. And they won't want bad P.R. Its not as asinine as you think. They will get rid of the distraction.
-
He could be. The problem is that such cases are rare, and they involve alot of orchistration and I don't think he hangs out with CIA agents. For the record, the victim had only stated that she thinks he was involved. No one, including myself, said he did it. I just think he's off the team. And Its an opinion that infuriates some. Nothing has come out to question that what the victim said through her lawyer is false. Yeah her freinds said other crap and blabbed online. People do that when their friends get attacked.
-
Two women were attacked in the incident, sir. And no I dont jump to those conclusions because I respect victims, unlike you. There is a police report, no one who is credible doubts that an attack to place, except alot lowlifes on this board.
-
people who don't accuse women of beating themselves and calling the police do. They understand what their words mean and the harm they can do to victims when you doubt them immediately because your a fan of a running back.
-
No. Read through the 100 pages, and feel free to get back to me. Oh and I never said he did it, so don't accuse me of that crap either.
-
Take of the tinfoil hat.
-
To alot of Not exactly, he could go to trial, and you don't want to pay a starting rb millions of dollars if he can't play because of that. I'd cut him if he's charged, and Beane probably will too. You don't hold a roster spot for guys at the end of their contracts who get caught up in stuff like this.
-
Not if he's charged with a criminal conspiracy. They won't want him in the league if that happens. You can't have your starting rb on court tv during the season.
-
Hes probably done, if there's a conspiracy charge. They take a while to put together.
-
Thats what I was going off of, hours ago. Tom is as reliable as it gets in my book. The dude with the King Hat (whose opinions he insists you collaborated) thought otherwise. And he said alot of other things too, feel free to take a look, and to keep defending him Mr. Oxford.
-
He got to the definition, not on his own, and by the time he got there he had forgotten what he had said. So its still plausible that she beat herself up, had someone call the police for her, and is now in emergency care, after beating herself up. He won, he said check mate, so he won.
-
Yep. Asserting that a woman beat herself up and called the cops is a very plausable scenario is a very respectful thing to say. It doesnt make you an uneducated piece of garbage that has no clue how rare those cases are and how ****ty those assertions make actual victims of violence feel. They all agreed with you on that.
-
You shouldn't feel like Marshall. He would have chewed your damn head off if you didn't use Oxford, any U of T English prof would have. Next your going to tell me that Oxford University press publishes plenty of style guides, which are not the Chicago Manual, and that those guides are fine, as well. Its your opinion, and you are entitled to it, but come on man, no writer or editor worth their salt uses Merriam or Chicago.
-
Well you have to look up all the words I said that your friend bolded, and then compare them to all the words in the definition. Then you can tell me I'm wrong and call check mate. The only catch is that you have to use Oxford. Maybe get your friend to help you.
-
Hehehe, you found it. Good for you. You deserve a gold star. You forgot to tell me to do my homework though.
-
You still haven't proven me wrong. The Oxford lists multiple definitions, and you haven't identified a legal definition yet. Still stuck on colloquial. Maybe sign up for an account with them. Or check out a hard copy at the library. If it hasn't been closed down yet, in your area.
-
Wrong definition, Merriam. I and the OP above are referring to Legal usage. And you don't know what that means still. Your world of probability seems to be carved out of a space where Jesus existed with dinosaurs.
