Clear Sign Beane Doesn't Think We Are Ready
Chugga replied to Ghs24mike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think I’d be more disappointed if there was a flurry of deals to end the day. But it’s not like the bills were the only team unable to improve themselves. Gordon didn’t move, Williams didn’t move, Green didn’t move, Howard, Beasley, Slay, Bell, etc. Every player who was rumored to move is still right where they started. My best guess was the asking price was too high, or at least someone would have moved on the last day. -
Gameday Thread Bills vs Pats* 2nd Half
Chugga replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You don’t draft a QB and expect the first couple of years to be perfect. This is my quarterback and while he’s playing a ***** game we are still in this. Maybe it’s naive, but the hope I have is, regardless of the outcome it’s a learning experience -
I don't know about that. As long as Belicheck is still coach I don't see the Patriots just disappearing when Brady retires. If Brady retired tomorrow I still put the Pats as the odds on favorite to win the AFC East this year with whoever they decide to put behind center. The Brady-less Pats are BEATABLE. But they aren't a basement dweller. If anything I'm afraid when Brady retires that Belicheck goes into overdrive just to try to win one without Brady and prove he was the reason for their success. Now when Brady and Belicheck both retire and the keys are left to McDaniels....that will be exciting.

Jalen Ramsey trash talking a lot of QB's
Chugga replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I kinda feel bad for the guy. He’s insanely talented but everything he does seems really forced like it’s not like him. The real him comes off as super feminine in interviews and I’m sure he hears stuff about it. Part of me thinks he tries to overcompensate by trash talking and acting like a tough guy. -
They did that exact same thing to me. They forwarded me to their retention line when I told them I was going to cancel service (not joking around looking for a deal, I was literally going to cancel) and they offered me NFL Sunday ticket for $49 as long as I signed on for another year. The deal was ok so I did. I paid the $49 up front then they kept charging me $49 every month afterwards saying I had 6 more installments. I was livid on the phone but they essentially said I was lying and no one offered me Nfl Sunday ticket for $49 they offered me Nfl Sunday ticket max for 7 payments of $49. And I’m like “that’s full price how is that an offer”. I can’t begin to tell you how maddening those phone calls were. Well I’m sure you’d know. Needless to say I dropped directv and now they call me once a week trying to offer me free crap that I don’t want. I definitely prefer having cut the cord. Will never deal with them ever again

It’s kinda interesting how whenever you bring up this debate the immediate response is “they are disrespecting our troops and veterans” and you can’t even say a word to change anyone’s mind on the fact that these thug players are disrespectful pieces of trash and how our military deserves better than that. But then here we are in this thread I’m scrolling through like 10 pages of crap and it’s amazing to me how quickly the tone of a conversation can degrade down to pretty great depths of disrespect for an active member of our military simply because he disagrees. I’ve seen a lot of players kneel and get called every name in the book. Never seen anyone of them call one of our vets a dum dum though and goad them onto a petty argument. I guess disrespect is in the eye of the beholder. Or whatever works to further your argument.

GDT: 2018 Draft Day 2 - Rounds 2 and 3
Chugga replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
5 more teams just got their picks in while Nate finished his speech -
I wonder when they started this policy. I’m a season ticket holder from CT (about 460 miles away aka 7 hour drive) and I’ve been a ticket holder since 2015. I’m only able to attend 4-6 games on average but they’ve never once given me crap about the distance. In fact when I finally did call a few years back for tickets the sales rep was saying how surprised I’d be if I knew how many people in CT were actually season ticket holders also. I know a friend of mine is. Kinda weird

Super Bowl LII GDT: Eagles vs. Patriots - Nick Foles MVP

Maybe this is me being ticky tacky but this is twice now the returner didn’t even have to take a knee before the play was whistled dead to save time. -
Could you mentally survive another drought?
Chugga replied to Chugga's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It never felt like a drought to me until we were alone at the top (or bottom) of the list of longest time since last reaching the playoffs (and honestly I don’t even remember when we first took that distinction). Once all the other fringe teams started to get a lucky hot streak and remove their names from the list that’s when it hit me like “oh crap it’s been a long time”. Before that it just felt like single seasons of missing the playoffs when the word drought gets thrown in it’s like one massive missed chunk of time and opportunities. -
Felt good this year to finally put the drought behind us and watch some meaningful football in January even if the outcome wasn’t exactly how I wanted. But it got me thinking I remember after that game in 1999 I was ready to avenge things next season and we didn’t. Then I would have bet a fortune on Bledsoe/Moulds/Price combined with that insane defense would have gotten us back...but they didn’t. JP never felt right, but then it was Trent Edwards pre-hit but nothing happened. Then there was that lull where you kinda gave in to the drought then everyone thought Fitz was going to drag us out or if not him maybe EJ after he matured a bit and worked on his mechanics (which never happened). I guess the point is I never assumed a drought would happen and I never really noticed until we were knee deep in it. While I think McBean has us pointed in the right direction what if another drought slowly crept up on us. Would you have the stomach for it?

Cheap Shot Incident from MNF: Smith-Schuster on Burfict
Chugga replied to Fadingpain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I never like to see anyone get hurt but that hit is one of the many reasons as to why the Steelers are a strong every single year and these bills teams have been pushed around for nearing two decades. Anyone that knows the history knows Burfict has been a thorn in the Steelers sides for years now with illegal hits, after the whistle plays, etc. Every steeler knows his name and a rookie fresh off his college campus knows the hatred to have for this team and this guy. So what do they does he do his first opportunity to do something about it he absolutely lays him out. Gronk will get a free pass, Landry is still enjoying his free pass. Hell someone might even exchange jerseys with those two after games. But the Steelers play with an edge and they remember that above all else you fight to defend your team. We haven’t had that since the 90s. Seemingly every coach we’ve had these last twenty years preaches brotherhood and family but how much does that actually play out on the field. I’ve never seen a team so undisciplined when it matters but so phenomenally disciplined when someone wrongs one of their teammates and they are so quick to casually ask the ref for help. -
Bills better off surrounding Taylor than replacing him?
Chugga replied to dezertbill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the process is legit I think you have to go best player available, moving only in a rare situation that you highly value someone that fits the identity of the team you are trying to build. I dont think you stockpile 6 picks in the first 3 rounds just to turn 3 or 4 of them into 1 player. Far less talented quarterbacks have guided their teams far into the playoffs even to the super bowl. If Rex Grossman started in a super bowl theres no reason Tyrod couldnt. -
All week long I hoped for the best and expected the worst. Unfortunately when the game ended today the worst was exactly what happened. But it got me thinking about the history of this team and arguably the most annoying thing about following this team. Dick Jauron - solid defense couldnt put it together on offense Chan Gailey - inventive offense couldnt put it together on defense Doug Marrone - stingy defense couldnt put points up on offense Rex Ryan - very capable offense couldnt stop anyone on defense Sean McDermott - top tier defense..... And of course during the extremely rare times that offense and defense both came to play Carpenter was shanking, Lindell couldnt put enough leg behind it, McKelvin was fumbling, and the coverage team couldnt tackle. Arguably longer than the playoff drought, can anyone remember the last time we put all 3 phases of the game together? Week 1 of 2003?

Rex signs with ESPN for Super Bowl pre-game show
Chugga replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Am I the only one that thinks he'll do miserable on tv? Maybe I'm wrong but the coolest parts about Rex have always been his pressers when it was his guys against the enemy or when he was cheerleading for someone. Overall "the players coach" seems to be too soft on almost everyone he interacts with. The guy is rarely critical of anyone unless they are an opponent of his and it sounds good in his head at the time. Without a team behind him and an opponent in front of him, I think he could be miserable to watch on tv. Sucking up to every player who could be a great fit in his hypothetical defense and jabbing at players he wishes he knew how to use in his offense.
