  1. Pretty classy video ... I'm an instant fan and nothing wrong with two LSU players with same last name on our defense
  2. https://sports.yahoo.com/trade-fits-jacksonville-jaguars-running-010637182.html Thoughts ... me I'll take this all day long ... although he gets injured I'll take a much younger RB that my have a chip on his shoulder post JAX.
  3. How does Hakeem Butler sit in Round 7?
  4. Since you're a self proclaimed casual fan .. and you beat Mel head to head .. still waiting to hear the other resources you referenced in your post that you use for your pre draft intel as its obviously good given your draft picking acumen.
  5. In today's ESPN quick hit society ... please share your other sources for us "casual fans" who actually appreciate Mel and what he does. You say above he is not a guy with a track record of accuracy. He hit 8 of the top 10 picks last year (granted not by right team) .. the drop outs were Rosen and Edmunds. You may not like his personality, but you have to respect the niche he created.
  6. I totally disagree with this take ... he maybe doesn't get the right team .. but he had 80% of the top 10 picks .. (8 for 10) he called Edmunds and Rosen that dropped to picks 11-20 ... my point is ... he's the original ... he created a bunch of cash flow in an industry that now has a bunch of copy cats (imitation is the sincerest form of flattery) ... mad props to Mel ... he provides insight to players I don't see often .. I'll take Mel and mocks any day in February when there is no football (all due respect to the new league on CBS).
  7. Well ... I can put that on the history list .. I was honored to see in person his last day as a Dolphin in a game .. ERRRR ... make that more honored to be present for Kyle Williams' last game ... and here was the parting gift that day from Tannehill .. he prepped all week to present it Passing COMP ATT PCT YDS TD INT QBR Tannehill 18 31 58.1 147 0 2 43.3
  8. Would love this pull in the first 5 picks on the top draft (that's the core of a new OL right there)
  9. Like the trade back portrayed in this draft .. but not a fan of this pick later in this mock 63. New England Patriots Tyree Jackson | QB | Buffalo Hate for a UB player to go to the Pats
  10. Admittedly I have not done a hard look at TJ .. just was referring to past top TE picks . but your comments intrigue me so will look .. that said .. guess my take comes from the fact that we have admittedly 3 maybe 4 (depending on thoughts on Teller) holes on our OL ... granted many OL draft busts like you indicate over the years ... but at the end of the day the TE is only one position and frankly needs more time than a WR on a slant pattern to get open .. so if no OL talent .. the TE may struggle to produce
  11. I hear all this love from some for drafting TE's high in the draft .. and maybe that's years of the Gronk effect ... but I don't really see "game changers" at that position lately in the draft .. I just think we can wait till rounds 3-5 to address that position http://www.drafthistory.com/index.php/positions/te For example the link above shows all the TE's drafted in the last few years .. George Kittle at SF was a 5th rounder and in my opinion he's the best of the bunch going back to 2015 ..my point is .. ... but there aren't a lot of studs coming off their rookie pick .. hence we looking at say a Maxx Williams in FA. But I don't really think OJ Howard, aforementoined Maxx Williams, Hayden Hurst, Mike Gisecki, Dallas Goedert, Austin Saferian Jenkins .. all early picks have been game changes ... maybe Engram . .maybe Njoku ... maybe Hunter Henry .. but look at the carnage for those few nuggets. Stick with OL early please.
  12. My only comment is I hear all this love for drafting TE's high in the draft .. and maybe that's years of the Gronk effect ... but I don't really see "game changers" at that position lately in the draft .. I just think we can wait till rounds 3-5 to address that position http://www.drafthistory.com/index.php/positions/te For example the link above shows all the TE's drafted in the last few years .. George Kittle at SF was a 5th rounder and in my opinion he's the best of the bunch going back to 2015 ..my point is .. if we draft a stud .. they may bolt after their rookie contract ... but there aren't a lot of studs coming off their rookie pick .. hence we looking at say a Maxx Williams in FA. 13. Sounds like the Matt Millen strategy in drafting .. we need OL so those WR's have time to get open
  14. I haven't read the whole thread .. but my take is ... in especially in round 1 and 2 .. you draft for need .... in later rounds you go for BPA .. meaning if you have a 2nd round grade on a player and its the 4th round .. pull the damn trigger.
  15. Seems like a McD kind of guy Career Highlights 2018 Senior CLASS Award candidate 2018 Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year semifinalist 2018 Campbell Trophy semifinalist Two-time Wuerffel Trophy nominee (community service award) Two-time AFCA Good Works Team watch list Led the Illini's "Lift For Life," which raised over $86,000 for charity in two years President of the Illinois Uplifting Athletes chapter, which raises money for rare disease research and treatment Influential volunteer at the Tom Jones Challenger League Two-time team captain (2017 & '18) Three-time Academic All-Big Ten Two-time Big Ten Sportsmanship Award winner 2018 All-Big Ten second team (media) No. 3 rated guard in the nation by PFF in 2018
  16. Looking forward to seeing it Gunner
  17. The one good thing is they lost their coaching staff including his OL coach ... assuming $$$ is even as at the end of the day .. as that will call the shot ... but would you rather hike the ball to Case K or Josh A
  18. Given our biggest need .. I'm Going all in on OL .. so here's our new line Kent Hull Joe D Billy Shaw Will Wolford and unfortunately the one that got away Jason Peters
  19. My only thing .. player aside and may very well being BPA .. but would prefer another OL instead of OLB in Round 4, but all for a C in round 2
  20. Agreed .. my favorite draft guy was Mayock ... but now he's with Chuckie .. so not sure what NFL network will do in his absense
  21. I hear you ... but you have to give credit where credit is due .. he carved out a niche and has made a ton of money off it .. so regardless .. he's the "draft guru" whether we agree or not ... he does however spout decent info on players he's picking .. again you can agree or disagree .. he at least provides detail on certain players .. that I know nothing about ... Long Live Mel .. though his hair is struggling of late.
  22. I know this is a top heavy defensive player draft and best player available mindsets ... but our defense was #2 in YPG allowed with for the year. Now I love Kyle W and he will be missed ... but the needs are on offense .. so if can't trade down .. then overspend the pick on OL player ... where we did good in not allowing yards ..we we're 3rd from the bottom in total yards offensively .... attack the need please in 2019 draft and free agency ... help our QB
  23. Well .. at least he didn't forget his coffee cup in Miami
  24. I'm OK with any team not in the AFC East ... please ... I want to see the Pats without a legit QB for a while
