You are correct Darth ... but did you ever believe 3-1 after 4 games ... granted we had some calls go our way today .. but we are one terrible Offensive Pass Int call at Carolina (who just knocked off the Pats at NE) and Zay Jones' rookie nerves from being 4-0. Trust the force of McD & Beane.

This Crow Dinner every Sunday .. I'm starting to like!!
-
Yep ... there is a shortage on Crow .... demand is outstripping supply and prices are through the roof ... I myself have been eating it since 1:15pm yesterday ... look forward to more servings in the coming weeks. Beyond dining on such a delicacy ... and trying not to wash it down with Bills Kool Aid .... I do like the McD fingerprints on this team and love the fact that we are back to a 4-3. Perhaps the crow will outsell "Dirty Birds" next Sunday ... I can only hope.

Couple of Add On's If time allows (maybe brunch) run up to NoDa (North Davidson) just north of city ... go to Cabo Fish Taco ... best Tuna taco and everything else ... don't miss it every time I go downtown. Near Stadium .. .there is a fairly new place called Ink & Ivy ... nice outdoor patio looks over BB&T baseball park and can see Panthers Stadium .. plenty of TVs ... decent eats. We also have many Micro Brewers in area .. but from a downtown perspective get to South Blvd ... you might want to look into OMB (Olde Mecklenburg Brewery) and Triple C Brewery ... .good stuff there .. big outdoor bier garden at OMB -
Who will be at Carolina Game

It's a wine and cheese crowd .... this isn't Philly .... there are so many transplants you can cheer with pride ... I've lived here for 15 years now (was at the PreSeason game a few years ago) ... they are just now bringing on "generation 2" of fans .. compared to the multiple gens we have in Buffalo ... but they will eventually catch up .. but not yet ... I've been invited by a Carolina Season ticket holder so looking forward to ruining his start to 2017, but had to hit Vivid to get 2 seats for my son (who I've converted/coerced given his bloodlines to love the Bills) and his bud .. though he thinks he's the jinx as they haven't been in playoffs as long as he's been on earth. But I've told him .. when it happens it will be so sweet that he's waited it out and supported from Day 1. Let's Go BUFFALO!!!! -
Section 103 End Zone .... right where the Panthers come out ... kind of disrespected with the line .. Bills +7 ... let's see if McDermott has an old copy of the playbook and we can spoil Carolina's home opener. Let's go Buffalo!!! Look forward to seeing all the Bills fans at the game ... sunny and 84 degrees.

Week 1 Game Balls vs. NYJ
WideRightRevenge replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Kyle Williams hustle play for me was AWESOME .. almost sacks the QB then comes back and makes the tackle from behind on the dump pass and annihilates the receiver. That guy's motor is great ... can't believe Dareus can't pick up on the guy playing right next to him. -
Bills vs. Jets Postgame
WideRightRevenge replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Again not trying to get too excited over beating the Jets .. but a win is a win .. and although I commented a lot earlier on playing Nate vs. Tyrod .. have to give credit where credit is due .. Tyrod ... played well yesterday. I am going to the game at Carolina ... hopefully the McDermott/Beane homecoming will keep us on top of the division ... but Carolina played well yesterday as well. -
So who's YOUR starting qb?
WideRightRevenge replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is accurate and backed by many analysts .. so not sure why we want to settle for mediocre ... does anyone think there is some greater ceiling for TT that we haven't seen already? -

Just got this week's copy of Sports Illustrated which is it's NFL Preview. Pretty telling commentary on Tyrod in the Bills team review page. Only strengths are Deep ball and elusiveness. Quoting here ... "Weaknesses include accuracy at the intermediate levels and inability to anticipate open receivers (he's a see it and then throw it type) and discomfort in the pocket when his first read is not there. But Taylor's biggest flaw is that many times, even when his early reads are open, he doesn't get the ball out." Conversely from what I saw preseason .. Nate appeared to be a good antidote to many of these shortcomings. -

OK .... let me ask you this after the close of Pre-Season ... has Nate showed you more, less, or what you expected as a 5th round pick playing in the pre-season? Net of his throws under pressure and inability to throw a 60 yard bomb which are so prevalent in today's NFL ... where are his shortcoming versus what we have on roster?

Hey once you've done Brennan's Bowery Bar (where I grew as a "yout" .. what is a "yout") ... skiied at Holiday Valley ... threw down a few a Duffs and all along Delaware Avenue ... went to Canada back when you could cross the border without a passport and see the professional dancer and gotta regatta down the river with a beer ball ... you're hooked .... regardless of the opinions back and forth .. if you're from the Buff ... you've got friends around the country. -
I agree .. someone please show the Tyrod highlights (now granted against 2nd and 3rd string) from Tyrod the last two years Nate has hit in preseason ... Charles Clay looks like an All Pro with Nate. The Bills receivers have had the serious dropskies this preseason ... even on Nate's first game with Taiwan on 4th down on the 5 yard line for a first down. Tyrod hasn't had enough throws to match the dropskies .. but he did have 2 INTS and 2 tackles in the same game.

AMEN Seems Nate wins 2 of the 4 .. so play Nate And those 29 games got the Bills what? Do I have a second AMEN ... do you buy a lottery ticket thinking you're going to win .. of course not .. if you do .. play Tyrod ... if not .. but just for the fleeting second you might win .. just for the dream ... do the Random Pick and see if it hits ... ie play NATE!!! -
With the Tannehill injury unlikely but if the Dolphins Cut Brandon Doughty .... I'd give him a shot .. saw him rip up Marshall a few times.

RODAK: Bills Go 5-11 in 2017
WideRightRevenge replied to OldTimeAFLGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The highest I've seen is 9 wins .. who thinks 9 wins gets us in the playoffs .... anyone .. Buehler .. Buehler ... well if not .. and there's a lot of this on the other thread .. .PLAY NATE ... why piss away draft position ... let's take it to 3 wins if 9 doesn't get the job done and test drive the rook ... vs. the ceiling that we know is Tyrod ... someone please explain to me the advantage of winning 8-9 games when you don't make the playoffs .. if we're all in agreement we need a franchise QB? -
I just find it interesting the ongoing love for Tyrod ... that's the fun of this entire thread .. and trust me its been fun ... that's the beauty of this board for a long time Bills fan (though new "actively" to this board) but reading for years (hence the bow down to Gunner Bill) .. finally gets this ID and starts the philosophical discussions on this ... I threw the olive branch earlier to Bandit .. 26 Corner .. we apparently are further apart and no offense but Hokie might just be a little biased given Tyrod's college alum status .. at least I got my man "blue" from Old School on the Nate Bandwagon ... but if we don't think Tyrod gets us to the promise land ... let's try the Rook .. that's my only point .. then let's see what we want to do in 2018 ... regardless of who starts .. unfortunately given the schedule and the teams likely to win 10 games .. we won't make the post season .. so why piss away draft position because we play Tyrod for 2 to 3 or 4 more potential wins but no playoffs.
-
Wow .. this expands now Tyrod is being compared to Matt Ryan ... Matt Ryan (net of the SB) ... but at least he was there ... can lead a team in the 4th quarter ...Matt Ryan has 25 4th quarter comebacks .. comments from my other posts of my issues with Tyrod in his Bills tenture revolves around this .. I want our QB to rally the troops and lord knows we've had plenty of come from behind opportunities ... see if Tyrod is even on the list below in 4th quarter comebacks. Can Tyrod "manage" the offense yes .. .is he a difference maker when the chips are on the line ... unfortunately history would indicate not. The better quarterbacks have this intangible ... I'm just yet to see it from Tyrod .. hence my stance to keep looking. The scary part of this list below ... is look at the QBs who names are above it .. my point the QB position can drive the difference between playoffs and no playoffs .. we don't have that difference maker starting ... YET. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/comebacks_career.htm The answer is no as they stop at "3" .. Tyrod had "2". Hell .. Dak a 4th rounder (heaven forbid they ever started him ... somewhat made Romo expendable didn't it) had 5 last year.

Yes I know Gruden QB camp is a "for profit" for Chuckie ... he's not there to bash them ... it's for TV entertainment ... that said ... I'd rather read more positive comments after the TV show ... I don't think Gruden is making up stuff when asked ..he's indicating what he likes ... you can continue with your glass is half empty ... love for Tyrod logic .. I'll press forward with hope for the future ... if you stand for the status quo (i.e. - Tyrod) and no playoffs.. .you will not grow ... enjoy Tyrod's work as he appears to be the savior for both you and Bandit. Just curious ... how many games do you think the Bills win in 2017 with Tyrod at the helm this year ... then how many if the earth stopped rotating and we put Nate in?
-
Just read this article on the two bills drive this AM .. .guess Chuckie kind of likes Nate too http://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2017/08/what_jon_gruden_had_to_say_about_buffalo_bills_qb_nathan_peterman.html "You know the cool thing about the Gruden QB Camp show that we have is I get a chance to spend a whole day and sometimes two days with these guys," Gruden said Wednesday. "We've had almost 60 shows in the last several years. To make a long story short, I really felt that Nate Peterman was very similar to Andy Dalton coming out of TCU. Similar size, similar personalities. Athletic guys that can throw the ball. Team guys, leaders. There's a lot of intangibles I see in Peterman that I felt Dalton had. When I watch the tape in the preseason, I see a young Andy Dalton. He's making accurate throws. He has anticipation and touch. He can handle a lot of offense. He played in two colleges. We said that during the show. This man knows the game. He loves the game, and it shows in the way he performs." Peterman has impressed during the preseason, and with Tyrod Taylor and T.J. Yates both in concussion protocol, there's a chance the rookie could open the season as the starter. Some have wondered whether he's a better fit for Rick Dennison's version of the west coast offense than Tyrod Taylor is. Gruden doesn't think the offense matters for a guy like Peterman. "I don't know what offense they're running in Buffalo," Gruden said. "I don't know what the 'west coast' is anymore, but whatever offense you want to run, Peterman can run it. He's athletic. He can run the read option and he can handle a lot of football. He's a mature young man. I think he's going to be a starter in the NFL whether it's in Buffalo or some place in the next year or so." Gruden also said if he were coaching, he would put a rookie quarterback in the fire to learn, because there aren't enough reps in practice to see what you have. If a player is ready to handle it mentally, the bumps that come with starting as a rookie should be no problem. Holy Crap ... an NFL Super Bowl winning coach .. agreeing with how Nate is looking ... shocking.
