  1. I’m regularly astounded at the average Bills fans contentment/satisfaction with “just being relevant.”
  2. Week 6 at Chiefs. They won that game and exorcised their demon, then played uninspired the rest of the way. My worry is McD looks at that tape and says the D failed us and we need to use the draft on that. Maybe he sees OL too but I worry that he has “faith” in the existing offensive playmakers.
  3. The guy is still a terrible clock and time out manager, as well as red flag “challenger”. He showed glimpses of being able to change personnel in-season early in his tenure. But frankly, not much has changed. He hasn’t. He actually likely takes pride in being a steadfast rock of consistency (like Tonkin). He will go down taking his moral high road and sticking to his guns. The timing of McD’s arrival immediately post-drought gives people the impression that he single-handedly saved the damn franchise. The first playoff year was a fluke! Every time after they had Josh Allen.
  4. This team peaked the first 6 weeks of the season. After they beat the Chiefs, it was like they thought their jobs were finished. Then after the bye, they were unmotivated and unprepared every game thereafter (despite winning a lot toward the end). They were in cruise control with no identity. It would have been exposed had Damar not gone down that night. That a** whooping maybe would have lit a fire. But instead, their laze festered, until the inevitable happened Sunday.
  5. I may be advocating for firing McD due to giving Josh a consistent voice/presence in the offensive Dept that will be lacking if OC after OC get hired away. Like Florio said. Every 2-3 years there will need to be adjustments made. Brady, Brees, Mahomes, now Burrow all had/have that consistency (Belichek had same OCs mostly no turnover). The idea of an Offensive Czar was thrown out there years ago right? Do that, if you value McD’s leadership. But you have to enable Josh ASAP as he won’t be in peak form forever.
  6. Dude look at Elam. Round 1 pick from SEC school and “has to earn it”, while Cincy put a 2nd round Cam Taylor Britt starting the whole year and this rookie from crappy Nebraska (I live here) shut down Big Game Gabe Davis. This frustrates me to no end.
  7. This is why an offensive HC can better wrangle a motley crew like this to get it to function better. McD has no idea how to initiate that. But you’re right, you can’t put 3 geniuses in a room and expect them to invent something remarkable. You need a project manager to wrangle them so their ideas flow toward a common and achievable goal.
  8. Apologize if this was posted before: https://twitter.com/michaelfflorio/status/1617562321391620098?s=46&t=IlCHj31sbdfmj2MzT7PhGw in the video the idea I like best is what Florio said about getting an offensive HC. The benefit of him, the OC, the QB coach and QB being incubators for creativity. Right now we have Dorsey and Josh, 2 inexperienced gunslingers making this choices. They could use some balanced input. McDermott can’t provide that.
  9. Right. I’m advocating getting some di**heads in here who are mean SOBs. If McDs culture can’t withstand that, it wasn’t worth having in the first place.
  10. Everyone plays their rookies except McD. Then Beane will sign a geezer off the street to take a rookies spot to “learn under”. Babying these players for 3 years to earn trust in them forces you to drag their assessment out, when all you had to do was put them in games and assess their development from the beginning.
  11. If your system can be poisoned by 1-2 guys, how do you expect to win with such fragility?
  12. Kittle is as good as Kelce.
  13. Niners play solid fundamental football on both sides. Good recipe. Matt Barkley.
  14. McCarthy is just not good enough.
  15. Agreed! For the record I like Dorsey and hope we keep him. This was more comparing McD being HC to Reid in Philly (who Sean worked for). Reid would probably be out of a job if not for Mahomes. I’m saying all the pieces matter. I’m also saying we have an elite QB NOW, and might not have time to wait for Sean to grow on the job.
  16. We have the anti-Andy Reid situation in Philly. He had great scheme but no elite QB talent and got stuck at NFC championship. Took that same scheme to KC with elite QB and tons of wins and SB. McD has bad schemes but elite QB and is getting stuck at AFC division/championship. Either we fire him for a guy with better schemes, or we get elite personnel that make the bad schemes work. Gotta breakthrough.
  17. Terrible take assuming anyone would marry this person.
  18. Beane drafted this guy Josh Allen when everyone thought it was stupid. He’s missing on DL with Sean/Leslie input on scheme. Maybe the scheme just sucks?
  19. Nothing. But almost no one will care to admit it. Basically mirror images the last 2 year stats.
  20. Sean takes pride in those D stats as a reflection of himself. Whether they translate to playoff wins, I think we see through that facade. You’re not impressed by a lot of different guys all not getting pressure on the QB? High standards much?
  21. It really is this simple. With 1 elite WR and a bunch of mid RBs, WRs and TEs, Josh got everything he could out of this offense. With the same cast but elite OL, this team is unstoppable on O. D has a lot of issues, but that can be masked by putting up 35 points every game.
  22. Maybe these guys are studs (some of em like Oliver and Groot) in a similar but different scheme? We get rid of 3-4 other pieces and trade for young equivalents that better fit the new scheme. I’m not an X and O guy but it’s not an impossibility. All I know is we spent a lot on DL with no impact.
  23. Yeah I think so. His D can work with pressure but it hasn’t materialized, which is Beane’s fault. So you’re now forced to find a D scheme that can work with the players we have rather than getting the best DC and trying to force our pieces to work in their scheme. Forcing bad/good pieces into good/bad schemes was the recipe during the drought years.
  24. Frazier’s D scheme cannot work without DL pressure. It’s not a chicken or egg question. Both have failed because they rely on each other.
