12/10/23 Week #14 GAMEDAY Bills at Chiefs Pregame Thread
Radar replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
He is but $15 mill a game doesn't necessarily settle that he is. -
Said it before and I'll say it again. Don't get so fixed on coaching that you lose focus on the team. The coach is pretty much on par with what he's working with. We've overrated this team for awhile now in my opinion and that's without the injuries this season.
-
Teams not as good as many fans thought. And that was before injuries. They're a good to very good team without the injuries but in my opinion not Super Bowl good. Not endorsing the coaching but to blame it all on coaching would be a mistake. Still look more at the GM and our cap issues being overrated by many as a GM. He's not terrible but he's not great either.

Will a win over the Jets to get to 6-5 bring everyone back in?!?!

Not getting excited yet. Let's see next three games first. That will indicate more. -

I've wondered about Josh and is he injured. We know how good he can be. You just don't lose that over two years in your prime. I do suspect it's more than play calling but I hope we can be more diverse in that department. Denver is a team I believe could have been run on more for instance.
-
Of course we need more than Diggs who can run routes and get open. Personally I don't mind dino and dunk if it puts points on the board.
-
He's someone who knows the game, but more so who he needs to make points wth. Job security is important. Sort of Tasker like.
-
Maybe, just maybe it's the mediocre, and by many fans, overrated players on the team that are the biggest issue. Not defending the coaching here but injuries aside this team is not that good. Certainly not a Super Bowl contender. Point fingers at our GM for this cap strapped ill constructed squad then maybe coaching. I'm not saying our coaching is great but they have to work with a team that has three elite players (one out for the season), a handful of good players and a boatload of JAGS.
-
No Beane deserves the boot every bit as much as our head coach. Probably more.
-
Been saying his for past seasons ax well. Always rebuked by stats guru's. When it really counts they fold. Smoking mirrors defense.
-
Probably. Never been big fan of either but in all fairness the coaches aren't turning the ball over four times. I'm not against coaching change at all just don't know who you'd replace them with. Beane has not built this team well and we're tight on the cap. Frankly even healthy we're not a Super Bowl team.
-
This thread I hope isn't the forerunner of this board being declared incompetent to stand trial.
-
McDermott/Beane ? Not in a position to say if Beane is answering to the coach or vice versa. Really in my mind when I look at our roster and then our cap issues I'm inclined to look at the GM.
-
Ok. But have we really looked close enough at our roster? Bulletin! They're not that great. Three elite players? One out for the season. A defense that too often folds at critical times. An offense that begins and ends with Allen to Diggs. Even I could draw up a defensive game plan against that. I've never really thought our GM was great more slightly above average. Same with our HC. Our cap issues seem to say money not well spent.

What's on Your Menu for the Cinci Bengals Game?
Radar replied to HIT BY SPIKES's topic in The Stadium Wall
All these tasty dishes sound great but been down with Covid . No appetite, very little sleep. I'll be lucky to watch a quarter. Bah, humbug. -
Well obviously I hope you're right. I'm not trying to be negative just don't see us matching up with them. Their defense isn't great but guess what? Ours looks as bad. Their offense right now is probably better or at least more consistent. People here aren't just being negative for the most part. Objective and negative are different things. I've ,I think, objectively thought our defense wasn't as great as many think. I've thought that before injuries and frankly for more than this season. Fan since inception but just saying this is how I view it.
-
Wish we were playing the Cincinnati of early season. Unfortunately don't feel good about this game. Think their offense is licking their chops against our D.
-
So true but if they don't listen and discuss then that isn't debate to begin with it's an exchange of statements.
-
If the Bills defense is healthy, they're 6-1 right now
Radar replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
We overrate our defense when healthy but, yes injuries hurt. No, we wouldn't be 6-1 if healthy. -

This tendency was there before these injuries though. -

Biggest surprise for Bills fans is our defense isn't good. And hasn't been good for awhile. Twenty nine points against a terrible offense? Once again team goes through us like a hot knife through butter when games in balance. See this too many times. Dorsey didn't lose this our Defense lost this. -
Yeah, and I got criticized for questioning Beane as a GM. I've said before he's not good managing the cap at all. Finally it's coming home to roost. This is not a quick off season fix. Several holes to fill.
-
Average team is probably accurate. Without injuries maybe a good team.
-
I've been saying for years in spite of stats this defense is not all that great particularly in critical situations like must stops to protect a lead. Maybe one of the worst secondaries in the league. Our offense is Diggs and Allen for the.most part and a coordinator unable to make the most of what talent he has. We just managed to lose to a very bad team. One good game this whole season so far.
