Lets get jerry rice and TO  on  our team this year, come on beane quit slacking

There's somebody out there with RB experience, might be able to function as a coach.  Successful in his day, has Rich Stadium experience. Come to think of it, I haven't seen him on the golf courses lately...

  2. Where was one of our newest members (greenyellowred) when all this was going on?  Chipping golf balls in the yard?  Fallen asleep in his bedroom, waiting for the limo to the airport?

I'll trust Robert Stack any day over Joe 'Droopy Dog' Kenda!  Why trust a detective with a 92% solved rate over an actor in a trench coat?

I was a fan of the drums originally.  My dad and I would always be racing to find as many of those as we could.  At this point, I think I'd want a 50/50 split.  Both have their moments.

You raise an interesting point.  Being the OCD sort that I am, I've been known to count if indeed I did get 50 wings in the order.  It suddenly occurs to me a wing is one drum and one flat, therefore, shouldn't there be 50 drums and 50 flats in the barrel?  It's an outrage!  Call Brian Higgins! (technically, he's my Congressman.)

IIRC Stracynzski is very protective of BS because he believes Paramount stole the idea from him.

I was aware of that contention, but never got too immersed in the facts of the alleged plagiarism.  I enjoyed both B5 and DS9.

...my brother and i beat the **** out of that car, and it just kept running.

My first was a '72 Chevy Kingswood Estate wagon, purchased from my dad.  When I moved to Ontario, I gave it back to my parents, who handed it over to my brother and sister, who with their rowdy friends proceeded to likewise beat the dickens out of it.  A crew of them come out of a gin mill at closing time in downtown Buffalo, see that the rear tire is flat.  So is the spare.  Find an air pump at a gas station?  Hell no, drive it up Niagara St., over the Peace Bridge, and 7 odd miles down Garrison Rd. to make it to my parents' cottage.  They must be reincarnations of WW II B-17 pilots, 3 engines shot out, they still limp back home to base.

I am ok with the possibility he murdered someone. He is a former Buffalo Bill and I support my own kind.

  7. Horseradish does not seem as hot as once remembered, but that probably has to do with preparation as much as anything, as well as the preponderance of personal injury attorneys. Growing up, horseradish in my house was not so much a garnish as a sign of 'machismo'.  "You think you're tough with that dollop on your beef on weck?!  Watch THIS!!"

Many years ago I remember reading an article in the Old Farmer's Almanac regarding how long after grating the root's scrapings are placed in the brine determines strength.  A coworker who dabbled in home made when younger also maintained wet seasons prior to root harvest resulted in weaker mixtures.  Up here in Ontario, there were a couple of varieties from the Tilsonburg area.  Kytes is a name I recall, but listings there now indicate the Peterborough area for a location. Dennis' Horseradish is near Delhi, founded 1969.

I really wanted a Kiko jersey but was light on cash...

That was the first draft I got super into.  I thought bonafide football man Buddy Nix crushed it with Spiller, Troupe, Carrington, Easely, Wang, Batten, Moats, Levi Brown, and late round steal Kyle Calloway.  Need picks at every turn.

The only thing 'Cornpone' Nix ever crushed was the corn for his grits.

Speaking of space shows, why hasn't anybody tried to remake Babylon 5?

    J. Michael Straczynski has always seemed very protective of that franchise.  I'm unsure of how much ownership of it he retains, but before it was begun, the 5 season arc was set in place.

    that's good hustle Limeaid.

Never saw him play, I thought he was supposed to be the Raiders best quarterback in their franchise from back in the evil Raiders days no?

Yes he was.  However, he always 'looked' awkward with the left handed delivery.  A subjective judgment on my part, but quite a few contemporaries agreed with me.  I'll bet we could have generated 15 to 20 pages here at TSW debating Snake's merits / faults.

    - i thought JP Losman was "our guy" long after it was apparent he wasn't.

    - i thought Johnny Manziel should've been our next "guy"

    - i thought CJ Spiller was going to be the next Thurman Thomas

    - many, many more

Wow.  With thoughts like those, I see why when they say "Don't be that guy", they mean you.  ?
